View Full Version : Maps Baxter Building --- DONE!

Yep, it is done.
The Baxter Building, home of the fabulous Fantastic Four, is rendered in five (count them: 5!) maps. Also offered are Special rules for the Building, Scenarios, detailed terrain notes (to determine EXACTLY what terrain is what!), movable terrain features, some Fantastic Object Tokens, and some Fantastic Four Bystanders.
Whew.
Currently, at least two sites are hosting. They still might have the 'beta test' versions up, though. You will notice the differences because-
-- the final version maps have small white text noting the floors reading like this: "Baxter Building First Level -- 31st floor"
-- the final rules set will have rules about going up and down the elevator shafts after disabling the elevator
-- the final Bystanders has H.E.R.B.I.E. with Leap/Climb power
I'll leave it up to the web-sites themselves to notify the forum, here, when they are ready to post!

This will be a day long remembered...
Now I can't wait to go home and see if the maps I downloaded yesterday were Beta or final. From what I've had time to llok at, they rock!
Oh, aren't there 6 maps? I counted...

The look of MrX's and Pfr_Fate's maps is incredible. You both are to be commended on the quality.

Now that it is done, and in accordance with standard Wizkids policy, I will wait a week or so and send out an errata sheet. At the very least, it will contain better rules for the Combat Simulation Room (which are lame, by my own admission).
However, there shall be no appearences by Daredevil, Elecktra, Spiderman, Hulk, and Wolverine....unless they shall be the the new Fantastic Four.....yeah, I know, it's FIVE....but Wizkids would squeeze them in somehow....gimme an aspirin.

purrdddyy...
very nice!
Hey I just played a game in my 3-D Baxter building and I have to thank Prof Fate once again for a job well done.
We had fun blasting out floors and ceilings beneath one another and taking elevators into battle! It's great. I can't wait to see what you do next.
Based on a quick look it's beautiful work! (This is coming from someone who picked up his first FF comic in 1967, btw., for what that's worth.)
I'm printing out the Readme file now.
Thanks for the thoughtful effort.

As to printing:
You can:
1) If you have Paintshop or some such image editing program, you can 'slice up' the maps into pages that can be printed through normal home printers and then tape them together. I was going to 'slice' them up...but it is time consuming and LIFE got in the way....on the back burner.
2) Go to mrxonline.com. He has found a printing store that has such a printer. He can give you princes and mailing intructions - but it is pricey....
3) Know someone who has acces to a printer - I have found that design technicians (like comp engineers) have access(somewhat) at their work to print out board designs that are large enough for people at meetings can see.
I am still looking around for a print store around here that can do it....but no local luck for me.

When printed to the proper scale...how many 8.5X11 sheets should it be?
I just checked through my printer settings and it has a built in sliceing feature :)

Image data:
Each Floor is:
(width by height)
1877 x 1858 pixels
26.07 x 25.81 inches
72 pixels per inch
24 pixel depth
16 million colors
JPEG - JFIF compliant
1 layer
Is that enough info to help?

Hmmmmmmm...you know what?
So does MY printer! It is called 'Poster Printing' (I think) and is under the printer properties section......now If I can just figure out the settings.....each square should come out as 1.5 inches......any help out there???
