WizKids just announced a new Marvel HeroClix release entitled "Universe" that will be a "best of" set reprinting figures from the Infinity Challenge and X-Plosion sets. It appears to be a good jumping on point for new players, and will offer a handful of new dials in the starter.

Do you plan on collecting this new set?

Yeah, me, I'm one of those completists, so I know eventually I'll probably want a full set of the Universe release. Given, I won't be in a big hurry, but it will provide another challenge to collecting the game.

Good lord, did you have to lump DC with Indy Clix?

I'm glad they are changing the figs in the starter set so that long time collectors have something to buy it for beyond just getting the updated rules and PAC.
So I'll be buying a starter and that's all. I've got more than enough IC and XPL thankyouverymuch.

I'm only getting the Starter set. So, all the re-done figures will be in the Starter set?

Just a Starter and I'll see this as a chance to maybe hunt down some old IC figs that I use a lot but still have the old school base.

Thats pretty much the same to me.

This Poll needs a bump.

All I am getting is the Starter.

How about, might but some "twosies" as gifts to nieces and nephews, but am not interested in:

1) 3 fig 100 point redos
or
2) same old map

Am waiting for the Marvel expansion with the Lizard (but will buy a bunch of Unleashed and Indy (if another Indy expansion shows up))

I voted to wait until DC although I have to admit I would be interested in the starter provided their stats are that much better. It would also be more tempting if they included a new map.

For Me it will be just the starter for the updated figs. I have complete sets of IC and XP (minus some uniques).:ermm:

I think it's a good idea for someone starting out in the game to get Universe. But me, personally, I'll be picking up the starter only. If I need anything from Infinity Challenge or Xplosion, I'd rather go and pick up the boosters of those, since I'm already into the game, and there's figures from both sets that I still need that might not be in Universe.

I'll get just the starter if the stats on the updated figures look interesting-- or if, by some miracle, they use the map from the Marvel Premeire set. That's the only map I still have. I won't be getting any boosters.

Just the starter here. But I was kind of confused why they didn't include CT, since it's sold out and all. Guess that's why?

Yeah, let's not insult Indy put putting it with DC.

I'll most likely just get the starter but would like to see what figs they decided to put in this set and if there are any uniques. Does anyone know if it's going to be a new map at all?

yup me too too just the starter

Definatly getting the starter.

I am gonna spend way more on Unleashed, all the preveiws are just making me giddy!

But there is a bunch of IC that I never got, and Xplosion was (overall) my favorite set, so I can see my self doing it. Besides, I don't always have enough $$$ to get a regular booster, so those cheaper boosters will be nice two.

I think it could also be fun to do sealed play with them. Buy 4 boosters, make a 200 point army, that way you could use some IC funstuff with xplosion stuff. No more sealed play with IC figures and the IC medics >_< go Paramedic!

Can't say I'd go out of my way to buy them. Maybe if I were feeling impulsive, I might buy a pack if I ran across one, but I'm not a completist by any means. As long as I have at least one of each REV figure I'm satisfied. If I feel like playing the Blob, I want to have a Blob to play. I'm a casual not a competitive gamer, so I'm not too troubled about whether I have the rookie, experienced or vet. I've achieved that level of completeness for Infinity Challenge. Though I do still want to replace that Vet Mr. Hyde I traded away.

Ditto. I'm probably as much of a "completist" as anyone here, but there's no way in H-E-double-hockey-sticks that I'm sinking money into figs just to have a new set symbol on them!

Whoops.....I thought this was for Ultimates not universe I guess you shouldn't count one of those completist new set because of symbol votes and put it in the starter set box....:nervous:.......sorry.

I plan on getting a case and try to complete the set. Yes I am a complete set fanatic. I've done it with the other sets why stop now.

Starter only for me. I absolutely refuse to buy into complete repros of old figures with just a new set symbol (oh, and the newer bases on the IC figures... I collected a full set of IC before they started putting them on the inverted bases). I spend enough on this game getting actual new figures. I don't need dupes.

I would have bought the starter even without the updated figures or a new map (granted, I'm still hoping for a new map). I would have picked one up for the new rule book just so I could see if they changed anything. Being a judge I feel I should be familiar with the rule books new players might buy. Plus there's always the incredibly slim chance that the new book will have useful scenarios in it. File that under the hope for a new map heading.
