The following is a writeup based on a real heroclicks match. I added some dialogue and description to try and make it a good read. It's somewhat long, but has a funny ending so stick with it. Let me know if you have any comments or if you have written up any battles.

Team Battle The Avengers vs. The X-Men

Rosters:
r Iron Man, u Vision, r Thor, e Captain America, e Hawkeye, u Antman, v Scarlet Witch, v Wasp, r Black Panther, e Quicksilver (total 599)
vs.
v Colossus, v Beast, v Cyclops, u Nightcrawler, v Wolverine, e Gambit, r Archangel, r Storm, r Jean Grey, r Iceman (total 600)

The X-Men challenged the Avengers right outside Avenger's Mansion. The Avengers defended the entrance while the X-Men started from across the street.

As the X-Men attempted to get into position, the Beast prepared for the battle by picking up a lamppost. He paid a heavy penalty for coming within striking range of Iron Man's repulsor rays. An elevated Cyclops was able to exact some payback by hitting a dumpster wielding Thor.

The Vision attempted to curtail Cyclop's rooftop sniping, but was knocked off the roof of the structure by the X-Men's field general.

Storm carried Wolverine up close and personal next to a hidden Captain America. Despite having the hex power of the Scarlet Witch to contend with, Weapon X ripped into the shield slinger for a nasty 5 clicks of hurt.

"Watch out Ororo!", Logan barked in vain, as the Thunder God pummeled her with a heavy dumpster. She slumped lifelessly, as Wolverine now faced the mighty Asgardian, the Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, and a seriously wounded Captain America.

Elsewhere, the ghostly image of the Vision appeared behind Jean Grey, a huge computer held in his android hands. The machinery hit Marvel Girl hard. She remained standing but was unable to concentrate enough to harness her telepathic ability. The inhuman effort seemed to strain the circuitry of even the seemingly tireless Vision.

The Beast attempted to engage Iron Man and prevent him from joining the Vision in the fray, but was met by the armored avenger carrying the same lamppost that he himself had tried to secure earlier. Circuits hummed faintly as the avenger swung the streetlight into the weakened Beast, taking him out of the fight.

Jean Gray succeeded in freeing herself from the deadly hand-to-hand melee with the Vision, enabling Nightcrawler to move close enough to damage the android. The Archangel swooped in carrying the full weight of the russian Colossus. Outside the gates of the complex, Wolverine dispatched America's super soldier.

The Pym's went about creating their own special kind of havoc, Antman moved in unseen to disrupt Cyclops in his sniper's nest, while the Wasp effectively confounded the Iceman's ranged attack.

Sparks flew as Colossus hammered the Vision with a vengeful blow. The Vision calculated that he would not survive this toe-to-toe clash and moved away from the organic steel soviet. Nightcrawler followed the retreating Vision, delivering the final blow to the android.

Quicksilver, in a flurry of punches, connected with a solid blow to Gambit, who had been aiding his teammates with a cunning that perplexed even his teammates.

Cyclops after getting a lift off of the tower by Iceman, blasted the Scarlet Witch with his optic beams. She survived with just enough strength to maintain her hex power.

Colossus charged the thunder god who had just struck Nightcrawler with a mighty blow. Nightcrawler wisely teleported away from the hammer wielding avenger and toward the Scarlet Witch. The spell caster attempted use her hex power on the demonic looking Nightcrawler, but her spell backfired in a flash, knocking her unconscious.

Colossus hurled another massive fist at Thor, this time taking the godling out of the fight. Cyclops, taking advantage of Quicksilver's preoccupation with Gambit, blasted the speedster until he too was KO'ed. At this point the Avenger's force was decimated. Only Hawkeye, the Wasp, Antman, and a badly wounded Black Panther fought on.

Wolverine and Archangel joined Jean Grey in surrounding the Wasp. The tiny Wasp easily escaped the crowd and flew to join Antman atop the tower. On the ground below them, Hawkeye and Iceman were locked in a standstill.

Another shot from Cyclops' visor and the Black Panther was dropped to the ground.

Antman was nearly invisible atop the wooden structure, until a bio-blast from his glove sent Gambit out of the fight.

Archangel flew Wolverine up to the tower to the place where Henry and Jan Pym had made their stand.

Hawkeye launched an arrow that whizzed by Iceman's head and narrowly missed Jean Grey. Colossus closed the gap between himself and Hawkeye, getting so close that the archer's arrows were ineffective.

The Wasp shot wildly at Archangel, but missed despite being at point blank range. Wolverine, struck with a perfectly focused attack and knocked the fiesty woman out of the tower onto the ground, and out of the scuffle.

"Goodnight Comrade", said Colossus as he punched a defiant Hawkeye, sending him into dreamland.

Now it was only Dr. Henry Pym, the Antman, who stood against the remaining X-Men. At his small size, he was hard to see, let alone hit.

His bio-blasts crackled as he zapped a miffed Wolverine in the face. "Why you little...", growled the Canadian through his singed facial hair.

"I got him!" said Archangel as he struck. Only Wolverine could hear the insect sized man wince at the pain of Archangel's blow.

Cyclops tried to hit the small target with an optic blast, but the beam ricocheted off the tower and came back to hit him with a glancing shot.

"Be careful there One-eye!", laughed Wolverine, now forgetting the pain of his recent bio-sting.

The group members tried without success to hit the minuscule avenger, until Iceman connected, slowing him down noticeably. The Archangel was next to strike paydirt, hitting the diminutive Dr. Pym again.

"Surrender?", asked the russian giant.

ZAP, fired Dr. Pym, knocking Colossus back off his feet.

"I really like this guy!", said Wolverine, now thoroughly amused.

Just then a pinpoint optic blast from Cyclops downed the last Avenger.

"Party pooper!", said Wolverine.

"I was trying to take him out before he crawled into your pants and you scratched yourself to death", said Scott Summers with a chuckle.

"X-Men!, your performance is improving, but still not wholly satisfactory". They heard the telepathic voice of Professor Xavier loudly in their heads, "Perhaps you'll find the next danger room exercise more challenging Wolverine".

"Don't tell me you're going to run the Magnito in the thumbtack factory program again!", said Wolverine, "I'm out of here!".
