Just wanted to put this out there for those who don't have photoshop or paint shop pro or whatever expensive program is out there for dialtops.

I've been playing around with a program I've had for a while called Mediaface 4.0. I've managed to get the dialtop almost exactly like the real deal. And the stats dial is what I'm working on and so far it looks to be working as well.

I only bring this up because Mediaface is much cheaper than any of the other programs I've seen used to make the dialtops. About $30-$40 if I remember right. I had been using it to make cd labels and covers and started playing around with the idea of making dialtops and stat dials.

If anyone is interested just hit a reply here. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have everything finished. Maybe I could put the template on my mods page. (Dunno if that'll work or not)

I useMF with the clear CD labels. I just trim and apply the printed "clear" dial on a sanded and repainted empty base, cut a spot to reattach the fig, then glue.

I'm almost done. It may be the first of next week before I get it done though. I'm trying to figure out the best and simplest way of doing this. And I may try to make up some instructions on how to change things (like colored power boxes and such). So everyone hang in there.

I do have the templates pretty much done. I just need to go over them one more time to make sure they make sense.

BTW, Paint Shop Pro isn't that expensive. $30-$60 on ebay.

To anyone still interested in this. I've hit a small snag, but hopefully will have this done by the end of the week. The dialtop is no problem, but the stats dial is being a little bothersome. A little more fine tuning and it should be good to go. I'm doing the stats dial in two parts, one for the power and one for the numbers. I'm having a little trouble lining them up is all.

Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Good luck.

I think I finally got it. It's a little more complicated that I wanted it to be, but it looks good. I've just got to figure out a way to get the template out. I might be able to use a feature on Yahoo.

Anyway, if anyone's still interested stay tuned. I know a few people have stated that Photoshop isn't that expensive, but I thought I'ld lay another option out for everyone.

And just to be clear this is only the template. You'll still need the Mediaface 4.0 to use it.
