Went to my local comic store and got The Conqueor Worm
it was far better then i ever thought it would be.

yesterday i managed to get my hands on Seed of Destruction and Wake the devil.

seed was an excellent look at the origins of the characters andWake the devil was just awsome. i cant get the image out my head of hellboy ripping off his horns and refusing to do evil. it is great.

so now on this lil bit of reading i picked up the novels by Christopher golden, The Lost Army and The Bones of Giant. ill get on reading them as soon as possible.

thanks to every one that told me reading hellboy was a good idea, it has been both worth my time and my money, which is something comics dont do much any more these days.

Mike Mignola is so good. It makes me sad that he seems to be doing less Hellboy lately and letting more other people write Hellboy stories. There is something missing when Mignola doesn't write them. Even Seed of Destruction, which is well written, just can't compare to the later stuff.

are the two novels i got the only ones or are there others?

and are the tpb's in order, i mean i know they are numbered but in wake the devil, which is numbered 2, hell bout makes reference to chained coffin...which is number three, where they writen out of order or was it added in the reprint after coffin was writen?

Mignola purposely writes the stories out of chronological order.

Mignola's art is exquisite. Study those pages, no one in comics composes a page like him, he's a master.

I just got The Art of the Hellboy Film book the other day. Well worth it, lots of notes etc from Mignola himself.
