Has anyone else picked this up?

Man, I am sooo disappointed - I'm going to keep up for maybe the first 3 or 4 issues....

Sasquatch + a whole bunch of nobody's that don't seem all that great to me...(the old telekinetic guy has potential).

Where's Puck? Vindicator? Guardian? Box?

And the writing...Mr. Lobdell is trying waaaay too hard to be contemporary and funny, and he's just not quite hitting the mark....

Sasquatch, some old guy, some some delinquint girl, some Boy Scout, some articulate Indian, and some other girl who is so deviod of something interesting that I can't remember what she does made me skip this one. Does the artist also do "Exiles"? They look exactly the same. I didn't buy it, I just read it in store. I love my comic shop...

I know it gets bounced around every couple of months but is there actually some legal copyright issue between Marvel and John Byrne over the use of the original Alpha Flight characters..? I was really surprized Lobdell only decided to carry over Sasquatch...

Anyone know?

(and if there *is* some issue over copyright - this does not bode well for clix versions of AF...)

Hey, the original Alpha Flight was a bunch of nobody characters when it started, too.

yah, they were nobody's but if you go back and read AF #1 you can see they had potential - I was interested to see what happened and who these people were....

...just don't get that "vibe" from any of the new characters in this series (except maybe the old guy).

I work in a comic book store...so every Wednesday I look forward to our weekly comic chats. There is usually that one book a week that is just so #### bad that we destroy a copy in protest...
This week we destroyed 2 copies of Alpha Flight.
Between the blad artwrok, (I didn't like that guy on Exiles, and he actually seemed to get worse.) the ridiculous new characters (What the hell is with that savage guy with the ridiculous dreds who talks like Thor??? I would rather have Leech or Marrow on the team!) and GOD AWFUL dialogue ("...and aside from being the drop dead cutest college dropout-cum-barkeep...she's also the toughest."...GAH! I wouldn't let Lobdell write me a check...)
Send Marvel a message people...do not buy this book otherwise they will think it's acceptable to keep publishing #### like this!!

This was a train wreck of a comic book. Horrible on many levels, even research.

By far, the worst incarnation. I thought that the AF a few years back was bad, but this is worse. I bought it on a wim, but I now know not ot make the same mistake twice.

sasquash was actually kinda cool in a nutty way...actually liked how fast he could shapeshift. but otherwise...it's lame...like "way past trying to be silly" lame.

who the heck are these clowns anyway? "captain Mapleleaf"??? is that his real name? and a "college drop out bar owner hottie" who just happens to know how to fight really well (which i assume we're supposed to be on board for simply cuz her name is asian). a freaking forest god of the indians that says "verily" lot?

where did they get this crew? who's the editor? who approved the project? what's going on in canada these days? i mean...um...i like candadians, but this book is giving them all a bad name.
