View Full Version : Exiles: A Blink in Time... WHOOAAA! (spoilers)
Anyone reading this? Part two out today, and it's getting better and better! Magik plotting to kill her fellow Exiles, Hyperion going nuts for donuts, Hulk and Firestar not actually dead yet, (yet Firestar ate her own arm... eeeww!) Blink's back, Gambit betrays Weapon X, Morph broods, Spider still crazy, and in the end Morph and Mimic charge Hyperion to a fight to the kill!
My guessings: Magik dies. She's a jerk, and no one likes her. Ax her. Replace her with an alternate Raza of the Starjammers, or even bring Magnus back. They've done worse.
Most of Weapon X will die. Hyperion for sure, probably Ms. Marvel and Spider, Gambit is less likely, but if he joins the Exiles he won't be leader, and that might annoy him.
Is anyone reading this? It's classic, classic stuff!
Magik's neck cracked, I'm pretty sure she's dead... I knew that the other exile that died was going to... Then Hyperion killed Hulk and Spider is gone... so 4 guys on each team left... I'm betting on a 3 - 3 split, unfortunately...
My fear? Nocture's demise. I think she's being set up to die while possessing Hyperion. I hope Hyperion dies, I hate him.
I don't know why you think Firestar ate her own arm... she clearly has both of them in the pictures... I think Spider was talking to Hulk...
OK, here's what I'd like to see - Hyperion bites the dust as Gambit sacrifices himself for the greater good. We're left with Blink, Mimic, Morph, Nocturne, Firestar and Ms. Marvel. Yet again, one jerk on the team... if they kill any more of the good guy Exiles off in this story I'm going to be so very upset... I've grown to really love most of them (and I really miss the one that died already... well, the one that wasn't Magik...)

I just started reading this comic.
Tony Bedard takes over at issue 46. sweet.
Spider was talking to Firestar with the arm thing. Look at her right arm. It's completely covered in webbing, and both of Hulk's are still there.
My new guess: Deaths: Magik, Sasquatch, and Weapon X. All of them. Timebroker will be happy to have removed a team, and the Exiles will have lost 2 powerful members. To replace them SHOULD BE Ursa Major (of the Soviet Super Soldiars, the one that could turn into a bear) and Raza (the swashbuckling cyborg of the Starjammers). They (pretty much) follow the rules of being on the Exiles: Obscure X-Men members. That's why Gambit won't be on the team (if you've been on the TV series, you are automatically eliminated)
That's why Sasquatch will probably die. With the new Alpha Flight series, there will be 2 Sasquatches appearing regularly in Marvel. Excess confusion will kill her off in this arc or the next. Note: Weapon X doesn't follow these rules! Spider, Hulk, Gambit, Sabertooth, FAR too well known. That is why their apperences are limited, and why they are going to die. None of Weapon X will carry to the re-formed team. That I am sure about.

I've heard somewhere else who was joining, but I forget..
did Hulk at least do better than Collosus against Hyperion?
Firestar is dead guys, she burned up. Dead list:

Pretty sure there's only one death left and you know that its gonna be hyperion. I'm not sure about Sasquatch, but they haven't shown her since Magick slashed her.

sasquatch isnt dead.
1) because that means the mission is over
2) shes on the cover of later issues
The lineup that Dax and I came up with involved either Mimic or Morph not being there.

Those 2 are pretty much set, from what we figured.

Mimic
One of these will die, I believe. Both of them have been taking a darker turn as of late, and don't seem to care what happens to them, as long as the team survives. I think it's going to go down that Mimic will be the one that looks like he's going to die, then Morph will step in to keep him alive to make sure Blink is happy, seems to be a goal of his to keep her happy.

Hyperion can't live, the series would go to carp then, just about him running around trying to rule every world they come to. Others are already dead, or too big of a name for this book AND their own.

Gambit
Warbird seems to go to whichever side will suit her best, I can see her switching sides if it looks like Hyperion is going down.
Sasquatch is not confirmed as dead, and even if she is, that doesn't mean the mission is over. There are still 8 alive(7 if you don't count her), 2 more have to die.
Gambit. Argh. #### I like this version of Remy, but I think he's gonna bite it. He would make a good replacement for Calvin if he dies, I could see him taking over as team leader even.
Final lineup, as I see, will be:

OR
Morph
Which really pisses me off, because I like both Mimic and Morph a lot. I don't think that they'll keep Gambit on forever, but for awhile at least.

I don't think hyperion will die :devious:
I think they are going to drag this out for a couple more issues, where hyperions basically holds the exiles hostage and they have to rebel.

Chi, Dax and I were discussing that also. Calvin can only copy Mutant powers, right? Hyperion's not a mutant, is he? If he does count, then that's how Calvin will die, next issue, I think.

As nightcreaper said, if the May cover is any indication of who is left on the team, it seems all of the Exiles (save Magik) survive.
And while the majority are happy that Magik is gone, I for one am not. =( Magik finally returns just to have her character horribly written. Then when there's finally hope for redememption by way of her little heart-to-heart with Morph, Austen decides to just kill her off.
*sigh* oh well. At least Blink is back. :)
Bah, cheaters. :p Looking ahead at future issue covers! That's no fair, dammit! ;)

for that matter how did he work up the nerve to mention to mimic how he WOULD take mimic out :confused: ???
also I haven't seen any pictures of dead X-men yet (not that I remember only read it once)

Please, lord, don't let Gambit survive. He's awful no matter what reality he's in.
I keep telling ya'lls, the only charecters on the Exiles' team are either so obscure or DEAD that they cannot be confused with already existing charecters in the "prime" Universe. That is why NO ONE from Weapon X will join the Exiles. Most definetly not Gambit, Spider, Hulk, or Ms. Marvel. The most likely is Firestar, since I haven't seen her anywhere else in years. Hyperion, although...
I came up with this devilish idea for Hyperion. He will be a reoccering villain who will aquire a device that enables him to jump from alternate reality to alternate reality. He will use this to go around and try to conquer each world. Every now and then, they'll have a Hyperion story in which he tries to rule, but is beated by that reality's heroes. Sometimes, the Exiles will appear to try to stop him, but the moment he leaves the reality, they are removed as well since the threat was removed. Finally, in the huge double sized 50th or 75th or 100th issue extravaganza, they finally put his attempted reigns of terror to a close by killing him. His final blow will be brought on by Sasquatch, proving her a great charecter and someone who needs attention. However, her heroism grants her leave of the team, to be replaced by (dun duh DAH!) Ursa Major! Wow, who saw that coming? Not me! Anyway, that's how I'd end it to give the Exiles a running nemasis that only wants to rule and destroy, not an "anti-hero" like the Weapon X team. In actuality, they were essentially villains.
So, how's that?

The new Alpha Flight book is awful.

When the U-Foes fought the Hulk, one of them burned off all of his skin and most of his muscle tissue while he was charging them. It all grew back and in a very short time, so technically, he /could/ have been talking to Hulk.
Don't count Morph out. Never underestimate a guy with stick-on body parts.
Has anyone considered that hyperio ill die just so they will have some powerful guy that the Timebroker can whoop up on? Sooner or later, The exiles and the TB will throw off the gloves, and we need the token 'guy everyone hates' so the Exiles can seee how powerful the TB is and find some cheap 'plan' way to win.

Yea I got to admit this is a good series, when I first heard of the exiles, all that time ago I just thought that it would be somthing about going to different places and sorting out things in a very short way.
But Oh my lord was I wrong, I enjoyed every Issue I've read..which is up to 44 anyway...
I know this may sound stupid but is Hyperion here supposed to be another version of the squardian supreme Hyperion... or is he a made up character for exiles?
This is another reality's Squadron Supreme/Squadron Sinister HYPERION. Basically, he's Superman.

So right now Hyperion, Ms Marvel, Gambit and maybe one other from weapon X are still alive and Blink, Morph, Nocturne and Mimic and maybe Sasquatch are still alive on the Exiles.
So there are 7 + maybe 1 still alive That one still alive could be Sasquatch (not fatally wounded? would have to be or else more than jus Gambit from weapon X will survive), Hulk(not fatally wounded? he does regen something fierce after all.), Firestar (didn't die in nova blast? doubtful it was a final blast sort of thing)
I kinda personally think that Hulk is still alive
The final part came out yesterday. In the end, everyone died on Weapon X and Magik was the only Exiles death. Then, the Timebroker appeared, explained everything, and went on his merry way... just after he told Morph he could go home. Morph refused, the Timebroker understood, and the Exiles (Blink, Mimic, Nocturne, Sasquatch, and Morph) have one day to get ready. The new team member joins next issue, and it has been revealed that she is female. Dang! It's probably neither of my hopes. Happy reading!
So bsically, they didn't shake up the status quo at all.
I am glad to see Morph still around. He is becoming one of my favorite characters. I was hoping he would morph into Hyperion's ear and poke his brain but the way Blink took him out was cool too.
I like this team as is and hope it stays this way for awhile.

at least Austen is off the book now. Between him and Winnick, there was never a good ending. A lot of good setups, but by the time the book ended, it was always watered down. Maybe the next writer will go through with some of these huge moves (i.e. an amalgamated Weapon X/Exiles team)

has anyone else read any of Tony Bedard's other comics?
I have. I'm a huge fan of his Negation and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
He consistently delivers "holy $#!+" moments in every issue. I've wanted to start reading Exiles for months now, but could never justify it. With Bedard on board, this book is mine.
