Does anybody play "In Character"?

I don't need to act drunk for Iron Man --the 8 attack on his rookie version simulates that...

I like to paint myself blue and put on a speedo whenever I use Beast, or play any game, for that matter.

Magneto usually plays in character, as does my OWAW Superman.

...and I can't keep myself from saying "Spidersense tingling!" when I roll 5 or 6 for Spidey's Supersenses.

Finally I'm very famous for going "We are Venom!!" when using the lethal protector.

I don't ever recall Captain America crying like a ##### when he was getting smacked around by Commish. Gordon:devious:

i joke around with my friends when we play, like if im using a sentinel i'd say things like "mutant identified" or trying to imitate Gambit's accent but nothing as to be in character.

we just joke around, itd be weird to see somebody doing IC's everytime hes gonna use one of his figures :confused: :laugh:

I think it would be neat to play "in character".

I could construct a team with Nightwing and get lost in a fantasy world where Barbara Gordon is my girlfriend.

Because unlike skyounkin, Sue Storm and She Hulk do not call me on the telephone.

i don't know if this counts, but when my friend plays bullseye, he always yells "I GOT A GUN!" it's funny and irritating. because he always does it when perplexed up and he's shooting firelord for maximum damage. #### him.

A kid that plays at my local venue always makes room for a rookie Thug on his team. When the Thug gets KO'd, he yells: "Hate Crime!"

HE does sound like a smurf, although I do like to play in character with batman and sing the old theme song when he jumps from one section of hidering terrian to another!

My girlfriend is a huge X-men nerd in general and a massiv Jean Grey fan in particular. She always plays X-men teams and carries on little conversations between the characters. She only refers to X-men figures by their first names (Jean, Scott, Emma, etc), and always plays so that Cyclops (whoops..'Scott') will get kayoed, so that Wolverine can run off with Jean Grey.

And god help me if I ever KO Jean Grey! ;)

Actually, it's pretty cool to watch. I role-play as well. Once, with a JLA team, at a tournament, my Hawkman and Green Arrow got into an argument over politics, and Hawkman wouldn't carry GA back to a medic as a result. My opoonent looked at me like I was crazy. I just said 'What? They don't like each other, ok? Ollie didn't even say goodbye to Carter when he went back to Thangar. I mean, sure he shed some solumn, solitary tears, but Carter didn't know that, so what's he supposed to think?'

I lost that game.

Well, once in a sealed box 200 pt tourney, i had the choic of playing Vet Thor, or about 140 point. Needless to say, I played Thor, and was shouting things like,

"the Hammer of Thor shall smite THEE VILLAIN"

That's about the closest I ever got.

This is awesome. This is what the game needs more of!

I only enjoy this because I'm a DC guy though. If some dork was spouting Marvel narration, I probably wouldn't be interested. In fact, I would probably think the guy was a major nerd and would get annoyed. However, if it was DC narration, my opponent would be one of the coolest people to ever play Heroclix. Now, that's a definition of bias for ya folks.

I did a bit of "In Character" Heroclixing - going after certain people based on what I know about the characters they're using and the characters I'm using, mainly. Magneto's going to mow down humans first. Thor's going after the biggest bruiser he can find. The Thing and Human Torch hit the front lines while Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman hang back. That sort of thing.

I've never had the stones to do something as rash as ditching my taxi's fare in the middle of combat, though. That's admirable.

HA! That's freaking awesome. I have a friend (VandalSavage here on the Realms) who occasionally plays HYDRA teams, and acts out all of the actions, complete with dialogue and sound effects. It's great.

Marrow's a good character, do you know anythin about her? She's a pretty interesting and hate filled character. That appeals to me. :cool:

Oddly enough, I don't do this very often, and I'm one of the more "nerdy" people I know. The only character that I consistently make any comments about is Venom. I have to say "Brains!" everytime I see one on the board.

It's fun to yell "RICHARDS!" when using Doom......

And Captain America leads every attack ---even though strategically it's better to have him hang back, I think....

I always like to play with Wonder Woman. Every time i have to roll with her i always have to say "Hera Give me strength". It helps sometimes (only in my mind). Every now and then i have to play with Apocalypse (I know he's one of the worst pieces) but i have to declare "For I am the APOCALYPSE" everytime i use him.

But in each game with the unique Shadwocat when she made a range attack I put in my voice the "voice" of the little dragon and say "creeee, creee!"

when I attack I always ssay the name of the characteres but my friend only say "I will atack to this eaghead or bighead or supidguy" , and I dont like!

And when I hit with Cyclops with RCE I put one hand on my temple and go PZZCH! (optic blast sound effect).

Whenever I attack with Doc Samson, I preface it with (in my best German accent - it's Freud thing and I didn't say which character I acted ike :-P), Tell me about your mother..." and then charge in and smack them with a heavy object.

Whenever I play Arthur Curry, I do my Ted Knight impression whenever I use Willpower - 'With the willpower of an Atlantean king, Arthur Curry again enters the fray!'

There are others, but those are the most fun...

Oddly enough, I never sing Wonder Womaaan when playing Wonder Woman.

I DO, however, sing "Weather Wizaaaaard!" to that same tune when playing Weather Wizard.

Also, Kingpin will occasionally contend for the "I AM THE FATTEST!" slot, but he always has to talk like Joe from "Reservoir Dogs."

I always like to squeeze in a Professor X onto a team and when he is KO'ed, i run, or i guess wheel, him around heckling the other team and complaining about there not being handicapped access to the top of buildings.

My friends think its hilarious........

Professor is an inspiration to all. He's about the most
handi-capable butt-kicker around.

It is also fun to watch especialy when Mr. Savage really gets into it and picks up the figs and starts with the puppetering. when I use thor/hulk/juggy I always say things like "I say thee NAY!"/"Hulk Smash!"/"I'm unstoppable!"

I also like get in char for dr. doom, or say things like "Fear my Bat-Mutant-Repellant Wolverine." with bruce.

I also like to make zoom noises with hypersonic speed chars from time to time (or whoosh!)
