At first I didn't like Hyperion that much. Admittedly, because he is the Superman archetype, and I've never been a fan of popular marquee characters. However, Supreme Power #8 finds me liking the guy.
My favorite part was when Hyperion--with glowing eyes, of course--says, "Now it's my turn," and proceeds to wipe the floor with Dr. Spectrum.
I like the character development for Hyperion: he is struggling to identify himself and wants honest answers about his origin and purpose. In addition, I am taken by what an innocent--yet naive--character he is (when he visits the confession booth). I was glad to read that Hyperion always suspected the American government was lying to him--that he isn't a dumb lug.
I think issue #8 was too short. I'm interested to see if and how Hyperion gets his "answers".
Now, here's my conflict: although I have all the issues, should I still buy the trade paperback when Marvel releases it? It's coming-out in either April or May.
