The only Dazzler I liked was during the time she wore the blue jumpsuit, the red headband and the brown leather jacket.

The face-painted roller-girl version looked megaretarded!

So...as long as they cut Britney'S hair and make her look like the Dazzler I like....I don't care :grin:

but then again...none of the X-Men in the movies wears their comic-costumes so....never mind :(

since they idea behind the ultimate x men was to tie them up to the movies (which has never been done actually).

Britney Spears was trying to get the role for Daisy Duke in the upcoming Dukes of Hazzard movie but they gave it to Jessica Simpson instead of her. I've heard nothing about who's playing Dazzler though.

I'm no fan of her music, and I've never seen her act. But I am wondering what she has done to warrant such hatred.

Yes she is a pop princess, but she should get points for not pretending to be anything else. I hate vaccuous people who think they have an important opinion on every subject due to their fame. Britney is just an entertainer, and that's what she does. She's really only guilty of being harmless.

As for skanky. I've never seen her dressed like that when cameras catch her in her off time. It's jeans, jacket, and a ball cap. She does a Vegas showgirl act for her concerts and videos. That's what she does. It's all tease with no go.

If you hate manufactured pop stars I can undertand that, I hate boy bands in particular. I just don't see what she has done personally to warrant such enmity.

You guys should have grown up in the seventies when Donny and Marie were being forced down the throat of America. LOL!

as for her as dazzler i would personally love it. someone had commented that this was a rumor for x2 wich is true this hasnt been a rumor for years. although had it have come true it would have improved x2 tremmendously.( seeing as though it was one of the worst movies ever) and just as a side note this most likely wouldnt happen in 3 either, especially since there are currently no plans for it. singer has already commited to a remake of logans run (wich was my idea bastard) and hugh has said that he has yet to sign on for a third, since he HAS signed for three van helsing's. the only person ive seen that has signed on was halle berry.

awright lets just put it this way, up until now the x-men movies have been cool, the actors have made a nice job with the mutants, i think this pop singer acting sucks big time, so i don't want her to ruin what could be a good movie (X3)

Britney is an alright gal - I can think of many worse people to take the job. Halle "I'm the only black actress we knew and couldn't be bothered to research" Berry was much worse casting as Storm than Brit as Dazzler. The person would have to be a singer, and any acting experience a bonus.

Personally I thought X2 was one of the best films of the year. Certainly on a pure enjoyment level.

dazzler was always a boring member of teh x-men to me, but if they did make her in teh movie, yes she shoudl be punk like in ultimates, and i think teh lead singer from the distillers (a punk band, the lead singer sounds like courtney love but the overall sound is more liek a female singing rancid which isnt surprising sinche she used to be married to teh guy from rancid) would be good for her.

I have to agree with the one that said Shirley Manson I think that'd be a sweet deal, however on the flip side of that, I hate most singers turned actors, most of them can't act worth a #### except LL Cool J, Mark Whalberg and Ice Cube, if you've ever seen Three Kings, you'd know what I mean, and no I'm not a rap lover, hate the stuff actually but those are about the only singer turned actors that I can think of that are any good at all, What I would like to say though is I like the trend of casting virtual nobodies for certian movies, there is no expectations for them because almost no one knows what to expect

the script is still a ways off from being written...

the original plan that was going to happen was that after brian vaughns run on ultimate xmen, singer and 2 other screenwriters will collaborate on a 6-12 issue run on the series (artist to be determined) after wich the three would start work on a xmen 3 script. but as i mentioned earlier this may have changed with singer stealing my logans run idea, that schedule may take precedence.

iggy... well i can give you iggy but as far as i'm concerned the ramones started it all. by the time the ramones went to the uk they themselves tell in an interview that bands like the clash and the sex pistols were a bunch of kids trying to start their scene, velvet underground by the way will never be punk, their lyrics have absolutely not that gritty street story that made punk what it is, i won't discussed more on this subject not the topic not the boards to do it.

Brad Pitt as Gambit, NO NO NO NO NO! He cannot do accents to his voice at all and Gambit will live and die w/ his cajin accent. If you want someone with the right look and correct ablities check out James Marsters, Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. I know I will get some boo's for it but just listen to the three seperate voice's he uses over the course of the show and tell me he doesn't have Gambits cheek bones. Plus it could accually happen as opposed to Brad Pitts A-list celebrity paycheck.

Who cares about Dazzler...

Plus, if we get Dazzler, then we have to get Longshot, which could only be bad for ANY movie.

If I have to weigh in on this, and my compulsive need to says I have to, I'd go with Christina.

First, she wouldn't cost as much to get in the movie, which means that we could finally get some Sentinels in this thing.

Second, Dazzler is supposed to be a great singer, but kinda out of place in the eyes of "polite society" both as a pop singer and a punk (sounds like Christina to me).

Third, Dazzler could care less about being a hero 90% of the time. She wants to be famous.

and last but not least, you cn bet that if they did it, they're gonna put her in that awful make-up, which Christina doesn't seem to mind.

As far as...

Shirley Manson, she'd have to be Psylocke.
Brad Pitt would have to play Archangel
Rose McGowen would have to be Sage or Selene
and
Jessica Simpson would have to buy a ticket like the rest of us...

Patrick Stewart wasn't signing on until he read the script, and he's signed on. Thus, script finished or at a confident draft version has been made.

Personally I'm not looking forward to 3 that much - if it is a version of the Phoenix saga it could be pretty bad. I loved 2 though.

a couple of things.

Vincent Price as Longshot? I think that is awsome. I feel dead actors don't get enough roles. They could totally dig him up and put him on the couch and be like "who is that? oh that is Longshot, but he is sleeping." For the fight scenes they could just attach Vincent to some wires and flip him around.

I think Britney would make a much better Black Canary. Her Body type is much more suited for that.

Also I have heard that Halle Berry is going to play Dazzler.

I think it's funny that some of you hold this character to be so sacred that you find the idea of Brittney playing her to be a travesty. It makes sense when fans are concerned about who plays Batman, Wolverine, the Punisher, John Constantine, Superman, or Wonder Woman. But Dazzler?

That said, I can't imagine Brittney Spears would even bother. Except for Wolverine, no character in either movie ever gets much screen time. Dazzler would, at best, be a minor character. No, it's fair you don't care about Dazzler. Everyone has their own favorites. Personally, I love Dazzler's character. She had her own title for a few years, and she was pitted against pretty much every major villain in the Marvel Universe, INCLUDING Galactus! Dazzler stands out because unlike the other mutants who chose to remain in seclusion to hide from the world, she let the whole world know she was a mutant and still continued her career!

I'm sorry to say that I feel Longshot was her downfall though. Once she started getting tied in with the Mojoverse, I lost interest in her. Until then she was a key member of the X-men and one of my favorites to read.

That said, I'm not too excited about Britney playing the role. Britney doesn't have the right personality, and her acting skill is questionable. It's not like she wouldn't take the role either. She played that 2-minute bit on Austin Powers: Goldmember. Her other movie(s) bombed completely. You'd better believe she would take the opportunity to be a part of something that's pretty much a guaranteed blockbuster. But if she does turn down the role, I couldn't be happier. ;)

I can't imagine a star of Brittney's stature (her stature is a FACT, regardless of whether or not she deserves it) would appear in a movie unless it was in a featured role.

It's called "padding your resume."(*)

Britney appears in X3.

X3 makes the inevitable gazillion dollars.

Britney can then be pitched as a star in a gazillion-dollar movie, even is her role had little to do with the take. Her asking price for the *next* movie just went up.

Right now, if Britney wants to pursue anything in Hollywood, all she has on her resume is "Crossroads." Like that's going to draw more than a chuckle. But if you can demonstrate a connection -- however tenuous -- to a proven hit, your value rises dramatically.

Not saying she should do it, or that she'll be good, but it's worth a shot.

And hey, how's this for a trivia question: What TV role was originally written for Britney Spears, and what's the connection to the X-Men? :)

Personally, I think Halle's work on X Men 1 should have automatically banned her from ever getting an oscar... "Do you know what happens to a toad when it gets struck by lightning?" -Yeah, it's probubly similar to how I feel listening to and watching you butcher one of comic's greatest female characters...

Just guessing, I saw someone say there were two good things that you saw in Monster's Ball, I'm assuming it's the same two you saw in Swordfish. :)

I will never waste my time watching one of her movies, other than Swordfish, and the X-Men movie's which I had no choice in.

Yeah, they were the same two things. Personally, I'm hoping that if Britney Spears does get to be Dazzler, they find some excuse to show hers. I'm sure they'd have to be better than Halle Berry's ... I thought Halle's were disappointing.

Well personally I think Britney's career is heading to that point where she will have to do something to get people talking about her again and that probably means she will be showing a little more skin that she does now. Kind of like why Halle did it.

Britney was originally slated to be on the television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, she was going to be a robot designed by a geek to fulfill some of his "needs". Schedule and contract stopped it from happening. The contact to X-Men, The head writer and executive producer for the show, Joss Whedon, is writing the newest X-Men title, astonishing or amazing or something and he wrote a few lines for the movie but only 3 made it on.

The part where wolverine flips the metallic bird.

And yes he did write storms line about the toad, and he was so mad she bungled it up that he will no longer write what he cannot direct himself...
