You realize that Dr. Midnight is the female physician that belonged to Infinity, Inc. and not the JSA, right? :)

Dr. Mid-Nite (either Charles or Pieter) is the one with the JSA. See, you should've entered my Dr. Mid-Nite contest and then you'd have known that. ;)

NickFury15
03/13/2004, 01:11
Wow, I can't believe I made such a careless mistake. Pieter has rapidly become my favorite member of the JSA, and I wrote out his name by memory (false memory). I have no reference material, since I recently lent all my JSA to a friend (to spread the wealth). How stupid of me Rokk, I even saw your post today (though I don't have an extensive enough knowledge on him to join in)

Ok, I'm Dr. Mid-Nite of the JSA Clan

We already had a clan for JSA, but it disappeared. I was/am Captain Marvel of the JSA clan

Well the clan got booted to the second page, that won't do at all. Time for some filler posts!!!

Quick question what did everyone think of the Black Reign storyline? Short answer for me right now it rocked something awesome!

Support the clan!

JayThor
03/26/2004, 09:03
I truly enjoyed the crossover. I hadn't read any of Hawkman's book prior to that, and didn't know the relationship between Kendra and Carter was progressing. The ending was totally unexpected, but very cool.

Gentlegamer
03/26/2004, 09:10
I'll join as Hector Hall, Doctor Fate!

supermangl1
03/28/2004, 22:08
I thought Black Reign was awesome as well. I had not read Hawkman either, but I thought he was truly a bad man. I never saw the ending coming either, no one won really, it was a big deal in my opinion. The Cap Marvel and Black Adam fight was classic, imho.

JayThor
03/28/2004, 22:33
All the fights were good in that one.

Can I be Jay Garrick, The Flash?

Unless, classic Golden Age JSA'ers count, in which case, The Sandman! ;)

Can I be Eclipso? How about Nemesis? Crimson Avenger then?

Seriously though, I am so up to be Al Pratt.

supermangl1
03/29/2004, 01:02
Well, I'm not president but malreux you can be whoever you want to be, welcome to the clan. We seriously need to let everyone know exactly how awesome JSA is, it is soooooooo underated.

Eltigrediablo the is no exact rule who you can or can't be, as far as I'm concerned golden age count too, it is JSA as well!

What did the clan think about the last issue of JSA? It was cool for me, not being a long time JSA reader, Degaton was someone new for me, and it was very interesting all of the subplots and comments made about people and by people I was not sure who it was. Like Dr. Fate's son, so I had to think about it and seek who was talking through that mirror, it was Daniel, the current Sandman, dream master of Veritigo line! The art was so so, but Johns continues to turn out top notch stories.

Count me in! Do we have to be only JSA? How about Seven Soldiers of Victory or the Freedom Fighters?

I'd like to be the Ray or Human Bomb!

I thought JSA 59 was pretty cool and interesting. What affect will the absense of Captain Marvel and Doctor Fate have on the group?

JayThor
03/29/2004, 09:19
The Degaton story was very interesting. My first crossover JSA/JLA was a Degaton story(It crossed with All-Star Squadron). This guy gets soooooo close to winning. The defeated, but ok with it attitude was very different and not at all expected. From the cover I expected the tyrant with the psychotic look running around with his delusions of granduer. This version was even more intense, but for different reasons.

JayThor
03/29/2004, 09:39
The group is definitely weakened by the leaving of Cap and Hector. BUT, considering how powerful the roster was, it is still very powerful. GL, Powergirl, Jakeem/Thunderbolt, and Star have serious firepower. Mr. Terrific, Dr. Midnite, Hourman, Wildcat, the Hawks, and Flash makes for a powerful, full roster. Cap is a favorite of mine, and I hate to see him go, but he and Doc Fate will be around when needed.

malreux
03/29/2004, 15:33
Heh, that JLA/JSA crossover with per degaton and the nukes is the first earth two story I can clearly remember reading

supermangl1
03/29/2004, 16:25
I say that the JSA is going to be alright, thought Fate and Marvel are two of my favs, I know they will be back, soon hopefully. Maybe we can get one focused issues on the types of Wildcat, Powergirl, Mid-nite, etc.

supermangl1
03/29/2004, 16:32
Well, I'm not president, but I will dub myself, the JSA recruiter. So I say people on the JSA reserve list will work as well, and the guys from Freedom Fighters and others are on it. So bloodsworn the Ray or Human Bomb will be cool, personally the Ray is cooler imho.

Question for the clan, whats your favorite JSA story?

doctorfate77
03/29/2004, 16:40
hey'all,

i'm lookin for a clan. I know Fate is taken now, but which one? is there room for Kent? or Jared? or Eric/Linda?

Fate

greg_wolf
03/29/2004, 16:44
i love jsa. since all my favorites in the current comics are taken i guess i'll jus be jack knight star man. if thats all right with u guys.

supermangl1
03/29/2004, 16:46
I say as long as the were in JSA, which I'm sure Kent was. Welcome to the JSA Fate.

Gentlegamer, is Hector and fate77 is Kent, that is if he want to be Kent.

supermangl1
03/29/2004, 16:48
Yeah man welcome Wolf, you can be Starman. Welcome to the JSA, as far as I'm concerned. Support the clan!

JayThor
03/29/2004, 16:49
Sorry greg wolf, but he didn't have the TA, so you can't be him. ;) j/k- though I don't know why at least one version of his REV wasn't JSA.......and don't get me started on Flash:grin:

supermangl1
03/29/2004, 16:55
The JSA so got ripped off in Heroclix in the past, they are making a strong come back in unleashed, but it was like Hawkman was the only one for a long time.

By the way JayThor, I like your sig.

JayThor

yeah i can be starman. anyway what did u guys think of black reign

Gentlegamer
03/29/2004, 20:39
Does anyone else like Black Adam? In a way, he reminds me of Magneto, who is my favorite mutant. I like the villain-not-quite--villain types. Black Adam did in fact free Khandaq from a tyrant. It remains to be seen how he will rule in his stead . . .

JayThor
03/30/2004, 09:11
I like what has been done with Black Adam. He said something about what I've often wondered. Why did the Wizard allow him to keep the powers? Apparently there is some good in him, just a different approach from a different time period. Comic characters are getting better defined, like real life, with more shades of gray rather than black and white

I'm new to JSA and comics in general, but the Black Reign storyline made me really like Black Adam. Like I said, he reminds me of Magneto, who also is a sort of shades of grey villain/occasional hero-ally.

supermangl1
03/30/2004, 11:19
I agree about Black Adam, he is cool, but for me I would trust him any further than Ma Hunkle could throw him. But underneth it all, I think he has a good heart. Anyone who can cry over the loss of his family thousands of years later must have some humanity about him.

JayThor
03/30/2004, 15:47
More depth. It isn't "I'm bad because you are good and I don't like you, so I want you dead" Black Adam anymore. Much improved.

Once more filler posts, (I won't let this thread go to the second page.) Who do you think was a better leader of the JSA, Sand or Mr. Terrific?

Once more filler posts, (I won't let this thread go to the second page.) Who do you think was a better leader of the JSA, Sand or Mr. Terrific?

NickFury15
03/31/2004, 21:02
Terrific. Sand was a good leader, but Terrific has more smarts.

Rokk_Krinn
03/31/2004, 21:10
Sand. Mr. Terrific may have the smarts and organizational skills but that doesn't always make the best leader (e.g.: Captain America is not the smartest Avenger but can you honestly say Pym or Tony would be better?). Sand gets to know the people better, he's got more experience and - perhaps most importantly - he has more love for the legacy of the JSA and its' mission. He's literally both the past and the future the JSA strives to represent (he was a child sidekick of an original JSA'er that has grown into his own). Michael is a decent enough leader, but frankly you sometimes get the feeling he still just does the Mr. Terrific role because it's a challenge to keep him busy so he doesn't re-contemplate suicide. He doesn't have the heart you find in Sandy.

eltigrediablo
03/31/2004, 21:15
Terrific is a very modernized character, and seems to be written in the mold of what a good leader is currently assumed to be. Sand just didn't seem as credible in the role.

In response to the earlier ruling re: what members count, I am officially putting myself in the Wesley Dodd's Sandman role for the clan!

As far as favourite JSA stories go....boy...I'll say first that I enjoyed Black Reign more than anything else I've read this year. It's still too new, too fresh in my mind to be an all-time favourite, but I know in time it will be there easily. I love all those old stories in which some threat would present itself, the team would split up and have mini-solo adventures before meeting up in the final chapter to put the kibosh on whoever. You would get all the thrill of a solo hero and a superhero team all at once. The maxi-series they did about 5 years ago re-captured that magic nicely I thought...the one where they fought Stalker and his disciples.

And anything with Degaton. I love that crazy Lab Rat.

Another great story (pre-crisis) is the mini-series The United States of America vs the Justice Society, written by Roy Thomas. In four issues, they pretty much give you the enitre precrisis Golden Age history of the Society, while still giving them time to solve one last case. I don't know if it's available as a TPB though.

JayThor
03/31/2004, 22:28
I pick Mr. T, but I don't think Sand got a fair chance.

Gentlegamer
04/01/2004, 08:54
I'm a little dissapointed in the E Doctor Fate (JSA). He's 113 points . . . if only he had 8 range and starting AV of 10! He'd be perfect!

JayThor
04/01/2004, 09:14
I had a good day of pulls from my case, but I wanted a V Green Lantern to put my mod of Alan Scott on. Maybe in my case next week......
I will probably still play E Fate, since he has the best Defense of anybody with JSA.

I did get U SHAZAM! It is the one I wanted most, and I got it. Go me! Go me!

supermangl1
04/01/2004, 21:19
Fate works pretty good though with the JSA team power. Last night I played a JLA team, I know I should have but my friend had to play JSA, he is a Cap. Marvel freak for a long time. I made one mistake and the Cap. Marvel destroyed my Hal and exp. Wonder Woman.

I really liked Sand as a character and as the leader. Terrific I really like as the second in command of the team.

JayThor
04/01/2004, 22:32
I like Terrific as the brains rather than the leader, like Brainiac 5 and Batman. Smarts doesn't mean leadership, although he is ok. Sand was doing a great job, but with these guys: GL, Flash, Hawkman and even Captain Marvel could be leader. (Wisdom of Solomon, who was recorded as a pretty good leader, lol), there are plenty of good leaders to be had by the JSA.

Well second page won't do for the JSA!!! No way. So here's another question in a fight who wins.

It's a friendly fight, but who takes it? Mr. Terrific vs. Dr. Mid-nite? Great skill vs. good skill and tech?

So clan who do you think would win, Terrific vs. Dr. Mid-Nite

JayThor
04/05/2004, 18:12
Gotta go with Terrific. I think he is a better fighter, having mastered many forms of martial arts. Doc is good, but not in that league. Remember, Terrific has tech, too.

NickFury15
04/05/2004, 20:36
Everybody bow down to the honorable president of the JSA Clan! NickFury15, ala Dr. Mid-Nite, has returned!

Just kidding, sorry for my time away, as President, I should be contributing more. Yeah, as much as I like Mid-Nite, Terrific cleans his clock.

By the way, supermangl1, good job recruiting in my stead.

I agree that Terriffic would win, it would be a good fight though. But the T-Shpere would probably cancel out the darkness bombs of Mid-Nite's. Though Mid-Nite is no slouch in the hth combat department. Glad to see the Pres. back to the clan.

04/06/2004, 22:56
Dr. Mid-Nite, I guess should have gone for an offical offer for recruiter but you were gone for awhile, so I dubbed myself as recruiter, so if it is ok with the clan I will continue as recruiter spouting the vitues of the JSA.

Oh does the JSA have a catch line? "Titans together?" or something. JayThor do you know of any? Just wondering.

Support the Clan!

JayThor
04/06/2004, 23:03
"Don't break a hip!"

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I don't know of a battle cry. Since they are known as JSAers rather than Avengers, Titans, or Defenders, a battle cry is kinda hard to do. "Victory!" was the battle cry for WWII, so I'm sure they yelled it in the All-Stars. I'll check, but it may take a while, looking for something that doesn't exist.

supermangl1

An official address to those wishing to join:

Supermangl1 has been kind enough to supply lists of our members, and the mantle they have taken over. Look on the lists. If you see a name on the list, it is taken. If you do not see the name you wish to call, odds are that name is not taken. You should obviosly say whose name you wish to take, but assume you have it. We will correct you if you attempt to take a name that's already been taken. Either Supermangl1, Jaythor, or I will tell you.

I hope you all enjoy the clan. It is a nice place for people of like minds (comic book minds at least) come to chat about the issues that interest them (nemely the good ol' JSA). Good night, and happy clanin'.

Your President,
Dr. Mid-Nite

NickFury15
04/07/2004, 01:44

Bear in mind that the JSA started out less as a team and more of an Adventurer's Club, with the members getting together and telling about there exploits. Or that's the way it seems in the several reprints that I own.

What would the 7-person roster look like if YOU could decide it? Everybody take a shot, and feel free to give reasons why you chose who you did.

NickFury15
04/08/2004, 23:57
1. Sentinel- Founding member, most powerful member.
2. Flash- Good to have a super-speedster with experience.
3. Mr. Terrific- A strong leader, also incredible technology.
4. Black Adam- Your super-strong, super-fast guy.
5. Dr. Mid-Nite- Intelligent, Black-out bombs, and a medic.
6. Dr. Fate- Obviously for magic, and teleportation.
7. Sand- Another strong leader, and an interesting power.

I do think this is a pretty cool lineup, though I feel kind of bad not having Wildcat on there. What's the JSA without Wildcat? It's like the Avengers without Hawkeye, it's simply not as fun. I chose Black Adam over Shazam, because I prefer the Black Adam character.

JayThor
04/09/2004, 09:20
1. Sentinel/Green Lantern- must have
2. Powergirl- my super strength person
3. Mr. Terrific- but not as leader
4. Wildcat
5. Sand- leader- I don't think he got a fair chance
6. Star-girl- powerful, but young
7. Captain Marvel- bookend to Powergirl for super strength, plus he is a favorite of mine.

It was hard to leave out Dr.s Fate and Mid-nite, but Pieter would be around as support, and Fate would guest star. Flash just didn't fit in the top 7. I ugess that is why they don't have only 7 members...

ROCK ON! Thats awesome gentlegamer, when I'm at the comic shop, I try to get new people to buy JSA. For some reason, some think TombRaider is better read then JSA, (DOn't think about that comment to long or the thought of it may cause a you to blackout) but lots of people when the read it find out how amazing this book is. Applauds.

As for my 7 member lineup:
1. Green Lantern-Whats a team without a GL?
2. Cap. Marvel - Strength, Speed, Wisdom, the total package
3. Sand - The team leader, he was my favorite leader they need to bring him back.
4. Mr. Terrific - Brains and tech of the group, plus a great fighter.
5. Flash - It always pays to have the flash around, (see the current DTM battle where the JSA and Defenders square off!)
great team player.
6. Power Girl - Super strong, a real heavy hitter.
7. Dr. Mid-Nite - great character, medic, some tech, great fighter.

I was about to but Fate on but no one would of had a chance against this team then. I was gonna but WIldcat for the fun loving role, but Mid-Nite is just too cool a character.

I'm curious do you feel that the JSA power lineup can beat the JLA lineup? Like the DTM battle they had no prior warning, they just got poofed to a large arena and had to fight. Line ups:

JLA: Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Plastic Man, Flash (Wally), Faith, Manitou Raven, and Major Disaster

JSA : Cap. Marvel, Power Girl, Mr. Terrific, Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Flash (Jay Garrick), Dr. Fate, Hawkman, Atom Smasher, Star-Girl (Courtney)

Just a thought I had, coutinue on saying your fav 7 team lineup but who do you think would win this fight? I know they're friends, but just for fun, who would win?

supermangl1
04/09/2004, 11:55
Oh and IronManI, yes the Atom Smasher spot is open and has far as I'm concerned you can have it.
NickFury15 and JayThor what do you say about it?

NickFury15
04/09/2004, 12:28
Yeah sure, you're the recruiter.

JayThor
04/09/2004, 12:48
Absolutely!

Probably just me playing favorites, but I think JSA beats that JLA.

Without Martian Manhunter, Dr. Fate is the wild-card that throws it JSA-way. He takes out Superman, Alan beats second-rate Stewart, Cap and PG beat WW, then help Atom Smasher with the names I don't know (Faith and Manitou) Hawkman beats Major Disaster. Wally would beat Jay, but then have to deal with the rest of the JSA. Mr. Terrific and Bats fight to a draw, but Courtney shoots Bats down. All IMO, of course.

04/09/2004, 13:03
I agree, Doctor Fate in that match up would be the spoiler that swings the momentum to the JSA. Similarly, I've found that E Doctor Fate has a similar affect on my teams. My 300 point all DC team led by E Doctor Fate defeated an all Marvel team led by Silver Surfer!

My son just whipped me with a JSA team. He had Shazam, E Dr. Fate, E Hawkgirl, R Black Canary, and LE Carter Hall. I couldn't hit him. I had Supergirl V, Cyborg V, Jessie Quick E, Robin V, and Teth Adam LE (a mod of Superboy with Supergirl dial, and a mod of CM3 on Teth Adam dial). I didn't take out one of his guys, though the Hawks were beat up. Cap would crush me and hide by Fate. It worked well....

Hawkeye2831, do you mean Cap. Marvel? or the Wozard Shazam who gives Marvel his powers. I'm not trying to be rude, but due to copyright laws, DC's Cap. Marvel is called Shazam on covers and in wizkids games. But his real name is Cap. Marvel. And yes JayThor is Cap. marvel. Anyone else you would like to be?

So, I'm still wondering, can I take the mantle of the Flash?
Oh, and for a Seven man Roster...
1) Green Lantern- The one, the only true GL, Alan Scott
2)Flash- You need a Flash for the JSA
3) Starman- Jack Knight. For the human aspect of the team. Not to mention the he rocks.
4) Captain Marvel- If you've ever read Kingdom Come, then you'll know why.
5) Black Canary- Why not? Not to mention she's the first Blonde Bombshell.
6) Hourman- Rex Tyler. Long live the Golden Age of heroes.
7) Red Torando- Ma Hunkel. Come on, every team needs someone like Ma.

doctorfate77
04/10/2004, 02:43
this is kind of an elite taskforce for those missions where the kids and neophytes would get in the way

1) Doc. Fate - I'd test his leadership skills and make him Chair

2) Hawkman - Proud Papa Carter to advise Hector and introduce some heavy blunt objects to bad guys' heads

3) Green Lantern - Some old school heavy artillery, and you cant have the JSA without him

4) Flash - Necessary speedster, and like Alan, its not the JSA without him

5) Mr. Terrific - Techno-King, and Most intelligent tactician next to the Bat

6) Power Girl - Gotta have some kinda heavy hitter, and as opposed to the Big Red Cheese (my initial pick), we need someone to lighten up the group dynamic

aaaand....

7) Wildcat - i know we have a couple of brawlers, but PG does need some sort of foil.

Alternates are: Capt. Marvel, Huntress (on Dinah's reccomendation), and Shade (to really test his mettle as a reformed villain)

Rsepectfully submitted,
The Spectre

Hey, I've got a question for the other JSA Clan members. In a fight, who would win, Superman or Captain Marvel? Personally, I believe Capt. Marvel would, mainly through the Kingdom Come Shazam Trick. What do you all think?

mightythor1200
04/11/2004, 22:14
I agree, Captain Marvel

IronManI
04/11/2004, 22:25
Marvel already knocked Superman out once in an issue of the JLA. First shot was sucker punch, but the second one put him down for the count! ;)

doctorfate77
04/11/2004, 22:28
its actually been proven over and over in the comics that Capt. Marvel would paint the walls with Superman. For the same reason that Doctor Fate could sucessfully duke it out with Supes. Magic, Magic, Magic.

NickFury15
04/11/2004, 22:57
Though I love the JSA, I've gotta give Supes his due. If he would stop playing around with Captain Marvel, he could kick him around. If only he would shift into super-speed, he could easily take on Shazam. Just my $0.02.

It must be tough for doctorfate77 to be torn between 2 seemingly opposing clans.

doctorfate77
04/11/2004, 23:05
the thing is, the Big Red Cheese is JUST as fast. hes not the worlds MIGHTIEST mortal for no reason.

JayThor
04/11/2004, 23:16
It is a 50/50 prospect. I love Cap. He is a favorite, one I like WAAAY more than Superman, but they are always shown being near equals. In Virtue and Vice, Cap KO'ed Supes with one shot by blind-siding him. He was wide open and not holding back. Superman has also given as good I'm sure. DC will not let anyone get a clean victory over its #1 guy. No one is allowed to be more powerful. Almosts, Nearlys, and Abouts, and maybe even just-as's, but no one more. It is the same reason Thor wasn't allowed to win in the crossover, but he maintains that he has his measure and could win a rematch. Of course it won't happen, so Supes gets the nod. Same with Captain Marvel. He might get a blind-side or lucky punch, but he wouldn't be allowed a clean win by management.

doctorfate77
04/11/2004, 23:32
i agree, they can't let Superman lose. however, more than not, CM tends to clean Clark's clock....

the weakness to magic is just to strong of a pull i guess. I think they have to display that weakness just to calm down all the fanboys that complain ('fanboy', and 'complain'. two words that go SO well together...) that Supes is being written TOO powerful.

supermangl1
04/11/2004, 23:51
Well every universe needs it most powerful hero/icon. Like Cap America in Marvel and his shield. Which in all logic is silly. How does Cap. A fight Thor, who is WAAAAY stronger, faster, tougher, etc. Because of willpower? I may want to fly really really bad and but all of my willpower into it, but if I jump of the roof it's gonna hurt.
Supes is the icon in DC, the #1 guy. Thats just the way it is, Cap. Marvel was originally made from what I've read to go toe to toe with Supes. If Supes would give Marvel his all it would be close. But normally Supes doesn't want to fight, or some other exuse for the two not to have a definative fight. But if the two went at it for real no holds bar. It would last a long time and range all over the world. But in the end it comes out a draw. I can't say Supes would win 51 out of 100, or Cap Marvel would win 51 out of 100. In my mind the are equal, and the two most powerful people in the DC universe.

JayThor
04/12/2004, 09:12
After the Crisis, when all heroes were put on one Earth, Cap was remade, and was inexperienced. Supes had the advantage. Now, Cap is a seasoned fighter, who listens to Solomon, and knows how to use his powers. Though Billy still gets a little awestruck around Supes, when he lets go, he is his equal, IMO, too.

Gentlegamer
04/12/2004, 09:21
I know it is fun to try to figure out who would win in a fight between two heroes, but I prefer hypothesizing about hero team-ups! What if Superman and Captain Marvel teamed up? What if Captain Marvel joined the Justice League?

I think I read somewhere that Captain Marvel will have his own miniseries this summer. Can my fellow JSA'ers confirm this one way or the other?

JayThor
04/12/2004, 09:33
I agree, Gg. Although we already had Cap in the JLA, I actually prefer him in the JSA. He belongs with the classic characters. "Who would win?" questions usually don't solve anything, and are usually a matter of opinion, unless it is lop-sided, like Captain Marvel vs. Robin. We played a match using whatever tag-team you wanted. It was loads of fun.

supermangl1
04/12/2004, 10:02
Gentlegamer, yes Marvel is going to have a miniseries this summer I believe. Done by the creater and artist/writer/publisher of Bone, Jeff Smith. Whats it about I'm not sure, but I think it's slated to come out in the summer.

If Supes and Marvel joined up who could beat them? I like Marvel in the JSA too, somehow to me the JLA people wouldn't fit in here with the JSA and vice versa.

I have a cool mini series idea what about a Batman/Dr. Mid-Nite mini? Now that would be cool.

Throughout the 80's and some of the 90's it had been establish'd that Batman had some close ties with Doctor Fate. Both being somwhat of outsiders, they had that common bond. Bats was able to pull Fate into the JLA once, and he was also his "Ace in the hole" during the Cosmic Oddessy. Call me Fate biased (and i AM), but i would love to see a crossover/Mini-Series involving those two.

JayThor
04/12/2004, 17:19
I enjoyed the Wildcat/Batman series from a couple years ago. I miss the days of DC Presents and Brave and the Bold for great crossovers. I think the series' would last longer with more variety in the team-ups. Batman and Superman sell, for sure, but allowing a Flash (Jay) and Elongated Man, or Dr. Fate Captain Atom, or Mr. Terrific and Cyborg, would showcase plenty of heroes without their own solo series (or 5).

I asked this in another thread, but who do you think would be good "fill-ins" for the missing JSA members in HeroClix?

Here's what I have so far.

Hourman = E Moon Knight or R Hawk
Mr. Terrific = V Batman
Atom Smasher = V Bane or E Absorbing Man

Green Lantern/Sentinel = V Green Lantern (UN)
Wild Cat = E Beast
Dr. Mid-Nite = V Nightwing

E Moon Knight for Hourman, and E Absorbing Man for Atom Smasher. He wouldn't have close combat expert he's just very powerful, the natural 4 is good.

What about E Wonder Woman for Power Girl?
Hmmm who would Uncle Sam be made from? That would be an intersting clix.

Since this is a democracy, and not a dictatorship, I ask you. Shall we join our new allies, and lead the attack on the Villain Clan? Or do we struggle for a peaceful solution?

supermangl1

Shakes his head:sleep: , why must we war? I am no coawrd and will accept the warning points this war will bring. It is the pride of the Villain clan that brings us to this point. I will go to their HQ and tell them we don't wish to fight, but if forced they will be stopped.

I will return!

1) Don't presume to tell me what to do Mandarin.
2) What do I need to stop doing? Talk about someone? "Flex my muscles" if you will? I didn't do anything. So Chill.

Oh well, glad to here this is coming to an end. Now back to the JSA and why it rocks.

There are two versions. Alan uses one and the GLCorps (including Hal and the substitute, JS) uses the other.

NickFury15
04/15/2004, 17:39
Actually, Alan has spoken a total of 2 oaths.

"And I shall shed my light over dark evil,
For the dark things cannot stand the light,
the light of the Green Lantern!" (his usual oath)

-and-

"Let all power and triumph be mine in whatever right I do!"

He only said the second on once (thank goodness!), but it counts.

Here's a good site for the oath's: http://www.glcorps.org/oa-oath.html

Hey JSA'ers, has everyone read the lastest issue of JSA? Oh man oh man, I'm thrilled yet ticked at the same time.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Good
1.The Scenes with Mid-Nite in the church talking with Terrific were amazing.
2. The opening pages of Spectre/Spirit King/Orginal Mr. Terrific
3. Ma Hunkel giving tours of the JSA HQ

The Bad
1. Ice-sickle gets shot??!!!? The first book I get to see him in and he gets it? Who knew Degaton was telling the truth.
2. Spectre/Jordan loses his redemption? Now I do have a problem with comics when the show agents of GOD losing 'redemption' and people escaping out of heck.

But overall one amazing book.

p.s. I'm watching 'The Two Towers as I type, isn't the scene in the end as the Riders of Rohan charge done the hillside led by Gandalf the most amazing/stirring movie scene ever.

1) A treaty to end the war, first off.
2) An allegence in any wars the Villain Clan enters.
3) Free use of Brownstone Mansion for parties and the like.
4) At least 3 of your members that are not already in the Villain Clan must join the Villain Clan.

These are Zaurial's demands, better known as Doom of the Villain Clan. I wanted to ask you all what you think. Here are my thoughts:

1.) I think this one was already agreed on.
2.) Most likely not.
3.) As long as they clean up after themselves and pay for anything they break, I've got no problems with this. As long as they aren't there by our senior members 6 o' clock bedtimes.
4.) No way (unless somebody really wants to. I find it rediculous that somebody must post to remain in the clan. Heck, FishBulb is still Hourman over here!)

JayThor

Yeah, it is ok if you like Cap. No reason not to be honest, I like Cap too. But think Uncle Sam rocks. He kinda unique I guess. To be honest I'm not sure who represents America more. They both do, to be honest.

Since that question seems too loaded, here's a different how many clan with Red Tornado/ hawkeye2831 start/join before it's all over?

doctorfate77
04/20/2004, 14:14
During the 40's Captaian America was the US' greatest achievement. He represented the US and its might during the war against Axis powers. Now in our tme, he still does. Hes an icon and an exapmle of the perfect American.

Uncle Sam isnt the front page news, nor does he fight villains everyday from out of a Mansion. He is the SPIRIT of America. A literal Zeitgeist. He is made up of the beliefs and hopes of every American made flesh. This is best examplified from an issue of Superman (I dont remember the #) where Uncle Sam beat the tar out of Superman for NO reason. Then it was made apparent that his actions were unwillingly influenced by the President's (Luthor) hatred of Supes.

I believe that Cap is the best America has to offer, and perhaps he is the best representative of what the US has to offer. However, Uncle Sam, in reality, IS America.

The SPECTRE has spoken....

I agree JayThor, Sand was a great character that I miss very much. I hope someone coughs*Johns*cough will bring him back soon.

We need a JSA discussion. So does anyone have a discussion point?
Heres one:

What JSA figure should be the next to make it's way into the heroclix world?

Mine: Green Lantern/Sentienel (he should be a beast!)
close second:Dr. Mid-Nite

NickFury15
04/21/2004, 19:30
We're about due for a JSA theme set.

Sentinel (I'd say Unique)
Mid-Nite
Wildcat
Hourman
Power Girl
Sand
A real Hawkman
Mr. Terrific

The list goes on...

Another topic: Which Mr. Terrific do you prefer? Micheal Holt or Terry Sloan?

The Charlatan
04/21/2004, 19:46
I only know Terry from JSA #42, so I guess Micheal, by default. Plus, his costume is less cheesy, though there's already a big black guy with the nickname 'Mr T'.

*sigh* I guess I'm willing to be Power Girl, gender differences aside, if you'll still have me. She's my favorite of all those remaining by a clear margin. Fortunately, being a big fan of Ranma 1/2 should help me deal with the experience. But I ask for the right to throw anyone who stares at them too long out the window.

CaptainAtom

JayThor
04/21/2004, 22:30
I want Green Lantern, Alan Scott.
He should be:
JSA Green Lantern, Rookie
Mystic Sentinel, Exp.
JSA Green Lantern, Vet

Loads of Willpower and high damage, not just RCE.

supermangl1
04/22/2004, 00:15
Hey Charlatan, I sent you a PM and I think I said if you want to be you can be Power Girls cat. Not sure why, it would be really funny to see that on your sig line!

But otherwise you can be PG which do you want?

I agree that Alan should have high natural damage not RCE, which I hate, because of the Running shot limitation. It should be a 18 def w/ willpower and 4 damage. High attack and 10 speed.

Hello CaptainAtom there are plenty left. Next post will contain a list.

SupermanGL1 I just want you to know I am very disappointed in you. You list both versions of Mr. Terrific, yet - perhaps out of respect to the clans founder (who I'm still going to tease about getting Mid-Nite's name incorrect :) ) - you fail to list the esteemed Dr. Charles McNider as a possible clan member. For shame - have I taught you nothing on these threads? :) You're also skipping the esteemed Jay Garrick, the original Dr. Fate, Shiera Hall, and Ted Knight among others.

I tell you, kids today have no respect for the past. ;)
