Yep, that's right. She's ba-a-a-ack.

I've been looking forward to this story since I first saw the preview for it in Wizard. Heck, I've even already made a mod of the new Girl of Steel based upon the artwork from the cover of Wizard #148.

And, now that she's here ... ?

I was never a big fan of Supergirl back pre-Crisis. I got into her series that Peter David wrote, and really got to like the Linda Danvers character (she'll be my next Mod, incidentally).

But, to have the real Kara back*, it just makes the DCU feel ... I dunno, more complete somehow. You know?

What're your thoughts? Are you glad to see her? What did you think of the story?

* => If it is, indeed, the real Kara ... Batman doesn't seem so sure.

I love a lot of things happening in this comic, but I hate the writing. Stuff = multiple kinds of Kryptonite, Lex back as Evil Scientist, Kara returning.

I'm worried that all of this stuff will be undone or forgotten about shortly, since the stories they sprang from kinda stink. By stink I mean are full of plot holes, weird character motivations, and flashy gimmicks like reintroducing old stuff.

I have heard rumors of a new Crisis coming to the DCU... Perhaps Kara's return is a harbinger of doom... It would be interesting though. Heh.

I think it's pretty smooth.....

I was never a big Supergirl fan, but it does seem like she just.... fits.

I have never liked Supergirl in any form except for the recent Zor-el.

Kara's return is a curse, seeing as how she always was the most mentally defunct Supergirl.

Maybe the Anti Monitor will kill her in an even more entertaining manner in the new Crisis.

However, maybe since this isn't technically the same Kara, maybe she'll have a whole new attitude that will make me like her. Maybe she'll be remotely intelligent. At least smart enough to not try to "marry" her own freaking cousin (I have the comic where this happens). After all, it is the 21st century. Women are more than just comic relief in comics these days. Maybe Supergirl will do extremely well this time around that I will actually enjoy her. I was critical of Krypto returning at first and now he's the second most beloved member of the Superman Family (in my eyes). Out of respect and the fact I was critical of Krypto at first I'll adopt a "wait and see" attitude.

Are you calling for one?

Nothing in this thread seemed offensive.

Yeah, she's nearly done. Let me see if I can't get her painted and I'll put some pictures up.

I hope to see it soon...

JacinB is quite easily the best modder I've seen.

I can't say as I was all that excited. I was a moderate fan of the last Supergirl (Linda Danvers), but bringing back Superman's cousin? Yech. The more relics from Krypton we have floating around, the less important Superman's status as "last son of Krypton" seems. So far, I am in the exact opposite boat as Ignatz - all I HAVE liked has been the writing...barring issue 7, which I think we can all agree was carp. All this series has done is bring back old silver age stuff and try and make it feel new, when all it feels like is the ruination of decades of (mostly) good story.

Honestly, I mostly mean Lex being another Mad Scientist :disappoin . I can deal with Kara, if it's written well, and I can accept multi-colored kryptonite if I have to, but Lex is too good a character to be wasted on simple Super Friends-like schemes.

I'm ready for another Crises, let me tell ya. DC really needs to mop up the messes they've made with alot of their big hitters. Plus, Lightshear's right- Lex Luther is 100 times better as John Byrne envisioned him. As soon as I saw the signature green suit I was just, well, sad.

I hope they do a massive re-launch of the titles- new origins, new everything. (Plus I think it will go over well, look at the massive popularity of Marvel's "Ultimate" series'.)

Let's not get carried away, Melgrimm...every time DC has done a Crisis-story it has ended up raising as many new questions as it has answered. If they just take it back to basics, you don't HAVE to reboot everything. Marvel's Ultimate stuff is fun and refreshing, and I have enjoyed all of it that I have read, but to re-boot would loose so much good story...it's why Marvel won't make Ultimate Marvel the "canon" Marvel Universe.

What was up with that anyway. I can understand having a issue that just ties up the story but just because nothing important happens dosent mean the art and writing should be 3rd rate
