With all the whinning going on about Wiz World I thought I would tell a cool story!
Well I thought since i had a little time I would tell everyone here at the matrix in detail about our trip to Wiz World L.A.. From the very begining I was stoked about the whole thing, the chance to play in tourney's and get a Galactus was enough reason to go. Little did I know that those were not even the best part.
It started on Friday when Myself, Rogues Law, and Punchy Joe left at about 8:00am to head out. After hitting the road for 7 hrs we finally arrived at long beach. Unable to get a hold of PantherCult & Impulsive at their hotel room and by cell I was ready to just go to the convention. I parked the car and we started to head to the entrance. On our way up to the Convention Center I asked this booth attendee were the front door was, she looked at the badges we were wearing that I made at home( they had our ticket, a picture of our avatar here at the matrix, and followed by CreationMatrix.com, the monarch should like that) and she assumed we where retailer's. "Are you guys retailer's" she asked, I hesitated for a second and RL was like "no just fanboy's". She looked at us and said that with those badges we looked like vendors! (insert light bulb) I looked at Punchy and Rl and and was like "Let's go this way up the back side of the Con"! When walking up their was a guy checking people at the door but he saw our badges from about 10ft away and just nodded us through! I almost started freaking out!
Once I was about 20ft in the Con(might I add 2hrs befors it opened) I almost freaked out!! Adrenaline was pumping and I realized that here we were, 3 members of the SCC in this con before any of the multiple hundred people who were outside. We immediatly went to the Wizkids booth to see Big G! After scoping out what Wizkids had to say RL knew he still had to go back outside because he didn't have a ticket yet, it was on reserve. He left Punchy and myself to walk around and take it all in. It was so cool!
At about 4:45 we went back to the Wiz Kids booth and got in line. The booth had opened for about 15 people but you had to have a retailer badge. Wich everyone thought we did but didn't. So we waited for the doors to open, as soon as it did I got Galactus! At the risk of sounding cheezy I have to say that other than retailer's, the Sinister one was the first to get a Big G at the entire Con. followed by Punchy! Then came the storm, people were just running by us almost like a riot just to get to the booth. We waited for PC, Impulsive, And RL to come through the front door and watched as Big G sold out in no time at all.
The whole SCC group met up with the other's unable to get thier Galactus. A little bummed we all scoured the scene looking at all of the folks their. I got a picture with Alex Ross, and The creator of Shi(forgot his name ) and before you know it we were all leaving. While it was a little upsetting that the rest of the guy's didn't get a G we knew there was still tommorow. We all went back to the room and watched a DVD I bought in Sacramento and brought up with us called "Happy Tree friends". Needless to say it was the single most twisted cartoon I have ever seen. We where laughing so hard that I'm surprised nobody next door complained. After HTF we watched the Original Fantastic Four movie that PC picked up and words don't even begin to explain that movie. All I can say is ####!! But we all loved it and where amazed how that thing even got made.
After the movie we all crashed. Im going to post this becase it is getting long and I have plenty of story left. I'll do Saturday in a little bit. Thanks for reading guy's and gal's!
