How do you make and use a custom avatar?

I wanna make some cool avatars, but I don't know how big they can be or how to select them once I make them. Somebody help me out...

You have to be a gold member first. Then what I usually do is copy a picture off of the web that I want to use. Then I use photo editor to reduce the size down to 50X50 pixel. Then just go to your avatar option and select custom avatar. Then you will be able to browse your PC for the picture you wish to use. Open that picture then hit submit changes.

I thought it was a bronze member for a $10 donation or is the donation page out-of-date?

Gold donor? I just checked the donor chart and it said bronze. And I guess I thought you could change it without donating because there was a note on the avatar selector about how you had to have been a member at least 30 days. Oh well. I'm a bronze donor now, and I'm not sure what to do with it. :ermm:

Sorry fellas it's Gold. That’s what I had to donate in order to change to a custom avatar....But look at my avatar wasn't it worth $30?....well wasn't it?:( :p
