Besides the X-Men titles and the Ultimate titles, what are some great Marvel titles out now?

The new Alpha Flight mini-series is pretty funny. They're more than borrowing a little from the recent Formerly Known as the Justice League mini, but the first issue was worth a few laughs nonetheless.

I'm sure it's an X-title, but Exiles is probably one of the best things out of Marvel right now.

right now from marvel I'm reading:

Avengers
I've really liked the Avengers recently, just fun stories if you like those characters.

Fantastic Four
Doom sent them to hell and they had to go to heaven to get Ben. I don't like the art in these, but the writing has been just interesting enough to keep me going along.

MK Fantastic Four
Again not the greatest, but interesting enough to keep me coming back. They lose all their money and have to get real jobs.

Captain America
It's a bit of a blurry story with cap going after a anti american political prisioner that has been kidnapped by other terrorists and is being held in cuba. Why? um, I think cause Nick Fury and Castro told him?????? not a very good story really, but it should be over soon...

and I've also been reading New X-men, didn't like the magneto story, but really loved Here Comes Tomorrow. But I bet you already knew about that.

Go out right now to your local comic book store and buy the Supreme Power volume 1 trade paperback. A retelling of Squadron Supreme, it's Marvel's version of the JLA and, very simply, the best title Marvel's putting out right now.

The Flash should have always have been a black man from Atlanta.

I've heard great things about Supreme Power, but it's too bad I'm too young to get it.

it's 12:30 at night right now. My comic book store is closed, so I'm not going. Also, their might be zombies out there..... I'm scared of zombies........

Exiles is not a directly related X-Men book. Sure it's got a lot of mutants but that's just Marvels main superhero resource. It's far better than anything else Marvel has out right now especially anything directly X-Men related.

Also I know you asked for marvel but why not pick up the .25c issue of Hellboy: The Corpse while out? The story is still as great as when I first read it and it's only .25c to boot.

ULTIMATE FF: AWESOME!! it is a great start. great book to read.

ULTIMATE Spiderman: another good book. i am really enjoying the whole movie story line: it is good.

Here's what I'm reading

Marvel

Exiles: As stated before, Exiles is a great book. Everyone I've loaned it out to has loved it.

Thanos: Gotta love the bad guy books. The heart of the story is Thanos seaking redemption, attempting to make ammends for past misdeeds.

She Hulk: OK so only one issue is out so far but this one really suprised me. Very funny, and a cool take on She Hulk.

Supreme Power: A mature, well done, adult comic that doesn't rely on massive quantitys of nudity and swearing? Say it ain't so! I love this series.

DC stuff
H.E.R.O.: Neat series redoing the old H-Dial. The series follows the dial as it passes from hand to hand. It's a fun take on the old average joe becomes a hero plot.

Formerly Known as the Justice Leauge
JLA
Superman/Batman

Image
Savage Dragon: God, I LOVE this series. It never takes itself to seriously, and when Larson drops a plot twist, your jaw will be on the floor

Invincible: Imagne Spider-Man meets Superman and you get the idea. The teenage son of an alien visitor develops super powers and has to balance being a hero and getting a date.

Indy
Transformers Gen 1
Transformers Dark Ages
Transformers Energon (Yes, I'm a TF fan)

sorry to say it, but SF never really interested me.

The only stuff I ever read are trade paperback, but pretty varied stuff. If you haven't read ASTRO CITY, it's truly some of the best writing out there. Welcome Back, Frank- the Garth Ennis Punisher run as well as all the Preacher trades are also a good bet.

i'm a fan of the silver surfer, so i always recommend it.

if you like the x-men wait for reload to start, avengers is pretty good right now, i cant wait for avengers dissasemble, i have the feeling there will be a bunch of characters we wont see around after the end of the avengers.

what else, well you said no ultimate stuff, but the ultimate stuff is also pretty good, specially ultimate spider-man.

If you like team books, check out the Runaways. I'm disappointed no one has suggested that yet. It's one of Marvel's best behind Supreme Power and FF.

Wow, a lot of responses! Thanks, guys. I did say only Marvel stuff, because my current budget is kind of tight. It sounds like Supreme Power is pretty good, so I'll look for that. I already get X-Men titles and I know practically all of the Ultimate titles are good. Thanks again for these suggestions.

Agreed with the others...any marvel fan out there should be reading Exiles right now....get the back issues too. The Iron Man story is espically awesome and the Hyperion story is also good.

The Avengers is also good right now and the artwork is also very good.

What exactly is Hyperion?

Good Marvel titles.

Supreme power-add another vote to it's list
Runaways-Just incredible (as is everything by Vaughn)
Exiles-has dropped off a little since Judd left but Tony Bedard is coming on so it will get great again.
Spidergirl- Always a great read and has been ,at times, during the course of it's run, the best Spidey book out.
Thanos- a small shout out to the Starlin run(1-6), hate how he was fired so it's slightly killing my like for Giffen's run.

SpiderMax

Pick up some Hellboy if you want some good stories. I reccomend the Conqueror Worm story arc.

What exactly is Hyperion?

Hyperion is a member of Squadren Supreme. He basicly started off as a Superman "clone". Clickhere (http://www.marveldirectory.com/individuals/h/hyperioni.htm) for info on the original Hyperion.

The Hyperion in the current Exiles run is, like all main characters in that book, from an alternate dimention. He comes across as a cold blooded killer who is more interested in taking over the world, then compleating his missions.

The other Hyperion out there is in the Supreme Power book. He's basisly an updated version of the classic character, exept he's been raised since infancy to be the ultimate weapon of the good old USA. As the series progresses, Hyperion realises the government has been less then truthful about many things.

Punisher MAX is great. I also recommend 1602 and anything Fantastic Four. Those are the only Marvel titles I read on a regular basis. BUT for ultimate fanboy fun I recommend Superman/Batman. I honestly belive this is the best super-hero book on the market today (okay Hellboy is better but only if Mignola is writing and I don't really see HB as a superhero book).

Highly recommend Spectacular Spider-Man. Its looser and newer than the other spider stuff

Also, Weapon X for a badguy team story, although its X- related.

For funny, go with Cable/Deadpool. It just started so it will be easy to jump on.

The pulse is a good semi-superhero book.

Avengers is just flat out good, Oliver Coipel is the most underated penciler out there.

I already have interest in characters in Weapon X and Deadpool/Cable, so I'll check them out. It seems like Fantastic Four is another excellent read, so I'll try to get around to it. Thanks, guys.

Although it's very violent and it has a lot of cursing. So hold off on it if you are young. But still a good read none-the-less.

What company is "Wanted"? Just so I know where to look. I thought Mark Millar was doing Ultimate X-Men?
