We're on a roll folks, lets all go and show off our new clan in our lives. Such as doing a magic trick, smoking cigarettes and wearing trenchcoats, cast a spell on someone you know, or even wear a cloak or a golden helmet. I personally plan on showing off our team ability by hitting eveyone in the mouth who insults me today (hows that for a retaliatory click?). Watching Harry Potter does NOT count, btw.

Well gang, we are slowly growing but i couldn't be happier. What do we think about a cap on the number of members, or should we be like AA and allow all who want to be a part of the greatest team since the A-Team? thoughts? suggestions?

No he doesn't he has the combined abilities of both Dr. Strange and Dr. Fate but nothing there about telepathy, because neither of them had telepathy, they have spells that they can cast that replicate telepathy, but not telepathy like Charles Xavier.

Btw, my concert went REALLY well. unexpected Standing O during the bows. but of course, youre all mystics, you already knew that. i bet you all also knew i was going to crack that High C sharp.... punks!

Anyhoo, as the self declared Sorcerer Supreme of this wonderful new clan, I feel the need to bring up the first topic of discussion.

Dr. Fate VS Dr. Strange. this is something i've wondered for a long time. Its obvious that i'm a little biased, so i would like to get some other opinions as to who is truly the most powerful, wisest, prettiest, etc...

but of course, there could always be a third who outshines them both. but i'm betting on Fate.

Depends on which Dr. Fate, doesn't it? I mean, I think Dr. Strange could take the '80's Dr. Fate (from justice league international, for anyone who doesn't know who i'm talking about) quite handily, but the golden age Fate would school Dr. Strange eight ways 'til sunday. I honestly don't know enough about the current incarnation to hazard a guess, but that's my two cents at any rate.

It would be a good battle between Dr. Fate and Dr. Strange, but you would have to use them both at their pinnicle of power and then it would make for some interesting "amagalations"

To be perfectly honest, I think it would come down to the endurance of both participants, like Batman and Captain America, Batman himself admitted that Captain America would win the fight, so with that same analytical thinking, I would only guess that Dr. Fate would win since in his most powerful form, he's younger than Dr. Strange, thus more endurance since he's always training, and Dr. Strange is studying.

Then of course there's and Astral Battle, but that's another battle all together.

btw, I read somewhere that the Phantom Stranger was one of the centurions who pierced the side of Christ while on the crucifix, and was cursed to wander the earth. I like that origin story much more than the explanation in The Kingdom (sequel to Kingdom Come for those who may have not read it). Which do you prefer?

i pose this question to the whole of the clan as well.

Your right doctorfate77, I probably should have picked Alan Scott. Well I guess I wasn't thinking :) Feel free to change me to Alan Scott if you like, he definetly ranks a little higher on the coolness chart than Jason Blood. I guess Mr. Blood popped into my head first because I recently finished rereading JLA's the Obsidian Age. Also Fate would just barely pull the win over Dr. Strange. Only because 1) He is and Agent of Order vs a Supreme Sorcerer 2) Nabu reveals spells from its generations of experience to the owner where as Dr. Strange hasn't even been in the business for one lifetime.

congrats to all of you that have been able to pull great things out of your Unleashed boosters although we all know that V Fate is the greatest thing since TiVo (mmmmmm... LE Hector Hall....). Unfortunately my powers havent allowed me to even get any boosters in the Tallahassee realm. one day...

GS7, as far as I am concerned you've always been Alan Scott. It just struck me a little odd that you would've chosen Blood. I guess reading the obsidian age would do that. dont get me wrong, JBlood is pretty cool. but ASLantern is even cooler. WELCOME ALAN SCOTT!!!

Vision, in the Kingdom, the story revolves around the DC Heroes scurrying across time and space to protect the child of WW and Supes (as mentioned at the end of KC) from this Magog wannabe, Gog i believe (funny, huh?). after a ton of stuff happened that isnt worth talkin about, the Phantom Stranger shows up and reveals himself to be and always have been the son of WW and Supes. WOOOOOW!!! i think i actually said 'WTF!!!" in the middle of the comic store in Tokyo. So noone knew what i was sayin (Unless i was with Iceman425), but it was well deserved IMHO. you gotta tell me what you know, dude. whats the truth PLEEEEEEEEEEEZE!!!

Greetings Mystics! I'm just checkin in to see how everyone has fared over the weekend regarding Unleashed boosters. A few of us have done pretty well (myself NOT included) pulling U's and Fates abundant. I however, gave up after 10 boosters and went to see a movie. Hellboy was pretty busy this weekend (i.e. Sold Out), so i and my roommate went to see The Ladykillers instead. DUDES, see this movie! it was High-Larious and i darn near peed myself on a few occasions. If you are a huge fan of the Coen Bros. (Blood Simple, Fargo, Big Lebowski, Oh, Brother Where Art Thou, etc.) then you would LOVE this movie. give it a shot if youre bored. Tom Hanks is a riot, and i'm NOT a Tom Hanks fan. now is son, Colin....

So... I saw hellboy today. GOOD movie. I enjoyed it, but i was a little saddened that i didnt get to see our fellow clansmen LB. whats goin on Lobster? how come you werent there? Honestly, i know LITTLE about hellboy and the B.P.R.D. oh well....

New Question for the group.

Corrigan/Spectre was the embodiment of God's wrath. Jordan/Spectre the redemption of God. Who do you think was the more effective. I know i'm getting close to engaging in a religious debate, but i think it can be avoided.

From a comic standpoint, i feel that even though Corrigan/Spectre was the more powerful, Jordan/Spectre was the most effective. Its one thing to contain the wrath of God. Thats an unimaginable level of power. However, as a former demi-god who was forgiven and given this role, Jordan could contain the Spectre's will a little better than Corrigan. He could relate. I am curious as to who will take the place of Spectre once Hal is returned to mainstream DCU activities...

I look forward to hearing your answers.

Also...

I want to put together a 400 pt. team based around V Fate. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Where do you think the pre-emminent mystical figures in the Marvel/DC universes stack up against other singularly powerful characters such as Magneto or Wonder Woman? I've always assumed that the depth and breadth of their power and influence made a Fate or Strange one of the most powerful mortal figures in their respective universes?

Agree, Dr. Fate and Dr. Strange as well as other mystics such as Jason Blood, Phantom Stranger, Spectre, Deadman etc. have always been represented as the " Hey, this is out of our (Superman, Wonder Woman, Capt. America etc.) league lets go get the Mystic guys. Though this trend only tends to run in the "a demon is terrorizing Keystone City" aspect it does tend to lend to the idea that there are somethings best left to the spell-slinging mortal men and women.

theres no doubt about it, Dr. Strange. If you refer to some of the old JLA/JSA crossovers from the pre-crisis era, Dr. Fate was the one society member who had to play the counter to Superman. No one else could! Having magic as a weakness is the one weakness supes shares with everyone. Aside from fighting fire with fire, theres no other way to counter a power that breaks all rules and defys all logic. case and point: Circe transfiguring the entire male population of the DCU into animals. NO ONE was exepmt, save the natural shape changers. and if i'm not mistaken, they fell too.

Gentleman Ghost, as far as i can tell, is a really cool villian. I think he is normally associated with fighting Hawkman and the JSA. hes completely invisible save a translucent Cloak, monocle, and top hat. He was kinda obscure for a while, til he showed up recently in the Early issues of the Revamped Hawkman series.

GG, if you wanna make a switch to the coolest ghost in the DCU, lemme know. I'm sure no one else in the clan would have any problems with that.

Everything known about the being called the Gentleman Ghost is based entirely on the Ghost's own claims. The Ghost has previously announced that he is the spirit of James "Gentleman Jim" Craddock, a notorious highwayman who terrorized the English countryside almost 200 years ago. Eventually captured and hanged for his crimes, Gentleman Jim allegedly swore an oath on the gallows that he would live forever. If this is to be believed, he now continues his dastardly career in death as a malevolent spectre bent on destruction and chaos.

The Gentleman Ghost has been seen appearing, disappearing, and moving through solid objects, leaving a wake of deathly cold. While he has not traditionally confined his activities to a single area, one constant in his actions has been setting himself against the hero known as Hawkman. Their confrontations raged over several years of the 1940s and, even today, he continues to seek out Hawkman in what appears to be a personal vendetta. The reasons for this animosity are known only to the Ghost himself.

The Stonechat Museum of Art & History in St. Roch, Louisiana, has reported activity that seems to coincide with the modus operandi of the Gentleman Ghost. If he has indeed returned to the mortal plane, it seems likely that he will once again clash with Hawkman.

nah, everyone checks in from time to time. not eveyone has time to post.

I'm a professional singer, which translates into "Unemployed"! ;) Between auditions, lessons, and performances, i have PLENTY of time to devote to the Realms right now (I'm JUST as active on the Pirate Thread). Not everyone is allotted such luxuries.

Guys? Stop me if i'm wrong.

I think i might be inclined to give it to GR.

admittedly, i know amazingly little about the both of them. but what i DO know is that GR is a badass with flames, chains, and a bike. basically a Marvel/Mystic version of Lobo, from what i can take. JC, however, seems to be a bit of an idiot who thinks with his pants. my only base of reference is from the Zatanna one shot last year. And if that isnt enough, isn't he being played by Keanu Reeves??? ha

HellBlazer #146-#150 are excellent I don't want to ruin anything so lets just say John Constantine in prison:laugh:

Also The Hellblazer trade Dangerous habits is excellent.

I am poor and only have these because they were recommended to me. Right now my free cash is going into my Girlfriend,Clix and Hellboy trades ( in this order particularly) So if I happen upon any other gems from Hellblazer I will let you know.

you just cant beat the Hand of God. That's like sayin "who would win? Tenant or Landlord?", lol... yeah, too easy for me.

however, Hellboy vs. Spawn? muuuuch harder. thats a tough one. i think that mebbe Spawn may have that one. Unless we are talking about Hellboy when hes all devil'd otu with the horns and all. that'd be an awesome fight to see....

Whats goin on. Just thought i would pose this to you. Build a 500pt. Mystic team. Here's mine...

The explanation of the team is Mordu, while fighting the Legion, sense a greater threat than either force could manage. They head back in time to recruit the first person to defeat Mordru, in the hopes that his power is enough to help destroy this new threat. They find Hector visiting Batman in his cave. There, they leave to recruit two powerful fighters (Bron, and Lobster) in another dimension. However, a curious and anxious Robin tags along against Batman's better judgement....

Good morning Angels,

I trust you all y'all have had a good easter weekend. Mine was extremely restful, save the fact that i helped a friend from school (and his wife) move into their new house. So i'm full of Malted Milk Easter Eggs and Chicken, and my arms are INSANELY sore. Thank goodness i'm a Vocalist and not a Pianist. I'd be pretty screwed, lol.
