I was having an interesting discussion with some friends today, while reading some comics. Somebody brought up the fact that some character was hot (Wonder Woman, I believe), and I responded by saying "Yeah, but she'll never be as hot as her!" pointing at another character (Scarlet Witch, it was JLA/Avengers).

So I'm interested. Who in your opinion, is the hottest Marvel babe?

Keep in mind that comics are drawn to be like real life, so just think like I do, and imagine it to be photos of real events, and real women!

I see some interesting choices. I think that's cool. It's also cool that we can have a friendly debate without some pinhead droping in and saying "they're only comics". Those are the guys who don't you to know they're in their 30s and never been laid.

I have to stick by my favorite Marvel chic, Sue Richards. Even in the simple way she was drawn in the early days, Sue was always portrayed as a sweet "thang".

Wanda is a very close second. In fact, if they were all school girls, I'd date Wanda over Sue. Know why? I'm sure many of you have seen this senerio.

To me, Wanda is the pretty girl who is'nt half as popular as THE pretty girl. Sue is the good girl every boy secretly admires. She's not loud and very visible, like she who becomes the captain of the cheerleaders. She's popular only because the admiration for her is the one thing nearly every boy has in common.

I work with hundreds of women and there's this one whom, no matter which guy I talk to, every guy likes her. That's Sue Richards. Wanda is just as pretty. It's just more popular to like Sue.

Still, she's my favorite. Also because FF is my first introduction to Marvel comics.

I can't give it up for She-Hulk or Rogue. I never cared for Rogue and the movie did'nt make me appreciate her any more. As for She-Hulk, there's something Un-sexy about a very tall green chic with a manish looking body. She's rarely drawn with a soft look.

As much as I love Asian women, I can't give it up for Psylock. If she had more clothes, maybe I could. I have many Asian friends so maybe that's why I don't appreciate the sluttish way they portrayed Psylocke.

Good portrayal of Sue and Wanda! I've never really thought of it that way, but you're totally correct about the situation. Everyone always flipped over Sue, especially when you hear the people talking about her in the early comics. But you never really hear Wanda getting much attention, other than from her teammates (obviously the Vision and Wonder Man, Hawkeye had a crush on her, Hercules in the early issues. I think it's funny that all these guys were interested in her, but the only person she had interest in was Cap!). She is incredibly beutiful, at least as attractive as Sue, but she wasn't out in the open as much, she was kind of withdrawn.

Both her and Sue seem to be great girlfriend material, but going by personalities and looks, Wanda's my type.

I read that issue many, many times. In fact, I did a mod of her, which didn't turn out quite as well as I'd hoped, but will give you an idea of why I read it so often...

Greg Land does some beautiful artwork. He also does some of the covers for Birds of Prey. (Ed Benes who does the inside artwork for BoP is also excellent at drawing women.)

Betsy Braddock herself is neither Asian or British. She's English. As in, country of England, not a member of the British Isles in general. The Braddock family are English (read: from England itself. No Wales, Scotland, Ireland, etc etc that a 'British' is) and since she is the biological daughter of the Braddocks, she's definitely English. When Brian (her bro) stopped being Captain Britain for a bit, she went from STRIKE (UK's Shield) Psi Division to become Captain Britain.
Things get a bit confusing from here, but Betsy was blinded. She was abducted by Mandarin and the Hand and had her mind swapped with Kwannon's. That is the Asian body. Then one of the forms became Lady Mandarin, and apparently Psylocke (the Asian body) was still blind. Spiral replaced her eyes with cybernetic eyeballs (and Mojo tapped into them) and the other body was ignored for a bit.
Eventually the English body returned, with Kwannon's mind in it, as Revanche. The two fought, but eventually they came to a truce of some sort. Revanche/Kwannon died in the Legacy Virus, and took Betsy's -original- body with her. Psylocke/Betsy died (lamely!) by a hack writer.

Oddities about the Revanche/Psylocke thing: Betsy dyed her hair purple to help her modelling career some. A light purple. Kwannon's body (Psylocke) is seen with dark purple hair, and no mention of the dye job. When we see Revanche after a few years, its the same light purple of Betsy's. So did Kwannon, who's apparently a high ranking Hand ninja as Revanche, keep the dye jobs or not? And is Kwannon's hair natural, or did Betsy/Psylocke dye it darker than normal? Also, if the English body is the blinded one, why is the Asian body the one with the synthetic eyes?

Good point with the blind bit... looks like an oversight that was never addressed. Since both minds thought they were Betsy (when in reality, Betsy's mind was split between the two), it's reasonable to assume that both kept their hair dyed purple out of personal preference.

That said, I still remember how excited I was when "Revanche" first showed up. As much as I liked Asian Psylocke, when I saw Betsy show up in her old Psylocke armor, I thought we were finally going to get our REAL Psylocke back. And the fact that she was the first to make a Psychic Katana made her that much cooler, in my book.

Now the problems are:

1) Psylocke is dead. When she is alive she should be written as this action junkie thing. That point is often missed.

2) Scarlet Witch is sexiest when she exudes some feminine toughness. Let's see her casting tough spells that take out Ultron. Let's see her gypsy dance and more than tenatively flirt. She was passionate about Vision. She needs to be shown as more passionate in general.

3) Black Widow is never around. But is relegated to guest starring roles, no wonder many people here forgot to vote for her...she needs more exposure and nOT like her series where she was 2nd banana to the new Black Widow. Boo. I like my Black Widow's red...

yet the x-men have without a doubt the most lovely female roster to date with girls such emma frost and jean grey(lucky cyclops) as well as storm for teachers in the school along with rogue,kitty pryde psylocke and paige gutherie(husk with her skin peeling mutant power) as students who wouldn't want to attend xavier's school for the gifted at least for a day

the avengers currently have there fair share of lovely
ladies with the black widow(natasha romanov) and wanda(scarlet witch) along with carol danvers(warbird) as normals on the roster, not to forget janet van dyne who is better known as the wasp

lucky peter parker has had some amazing women in his life to choose from, this list would include mary jane parker, felicia hardy(black cat) the silver sable and lets not forget his first love gwen stacy

as far as the ff go i'm not surprised that everyone is talking about sue richards and she-hulk,yet i'm surprised most have forgetten crystal

as far as villians the thunderbolts had two very attractive women on the roster from the begining with the bad girl songbird and the good doctor karla sofen(moonstone or meteorite)

Personally I can't go past She-Hulk. She's strong, smart, tall, and with a great physique (not counting Bendis' dissing of the Avengers).

I usually don't go for blondes at all, but Moonstone is probably my number 2 thesedays. Pretty annoyed that she's been neutered now, but hopefully she'll come back again. Not sure if it's the strong/smart thing again, or that malleable metal costume of hers- probably both.
