View Full Version : 200 point Sentinel team or Team 2

so i was sitting there today and thought because we have a 200 point tournament coming up, is it possible to fit a sentinel into a 200 point winning team? here is the team i thought up but i don't really think it could win, would be fun, but prob wouldn't win,


Sentinel 100p
R-Inv. Girl 37p
R-Con Artist 11p
E - Deathstroke 50p

=198

the strategy is simple, deathstroke secondary attacker/ outwiter, sentinel to be main attacker and carry inv. girl for the amazing 18 def(will be extremely hard to hit in a 200 pointer i think) and con artist to perplex sentinel

or would this other team be better,

LE - Carter Hall 54p
U - Elektra (IC) 36p
E - Paramedic 10p
V - Green Arrow 50p
E - Deathstroke 50p

=200

Ok, the strategy on this one is carter hall charges in carrying elektra, she will be the second hit next turn, green arrow to give them both cover fire, and deathstroke to add outwit and be another attacker

So which one would be the better option in a 200p tournament? would neither? do they just need a little tweaking? or are they both good options? well thanks for the help and i hope that you will contribute something, its all good!

Although I don't like the 100 point sentinal, in a 200 point game he would dominate. Capture your opponents biggest fig and take him out real quick. I'd go for the Sentinal.

I don't know. I like team 2 better:

LE - Carter Hall 54p
U - Elektra (IC) 36p

E - Deathstroke 50p

This is a team of all primary attackers (and a medic). I mean, they're all really good at dishing out damage. I think this team gives you more options, and makes your opponent work harder to take you out.

With the 100 point Sentinal, I just don't think you're going to be able to do enough damage and your attack value won't be high enough.

The 100 point Sentinal just isn't a good investment for a 200 point team.

Now a 200 point Sentinal, all by his lonesome, might be more effective.

But ....... I'd still go with Team 2. :)

Well, let's look at the 100 point Sentinal. He doesn't start with Running Shot, or Toughness, or Energy Explosion.

He has a 9 AV and does 2 damage. So Capturing might be a little problem if your opponent's big gun has a DV of 16 or higher.

Also, in order to prevent the captured figure from being instantly released, you have to give your opponent something else to shoot at. And you still have to get back to your starting area to release the captured fig.

If you stay out on the map and keep attacking with the figure who is half of your team, all it takes is one good roll by your opponent, and then the captured fig is released, right next to you, and will smack the Sentinal.

I just don't think that the 100 pointer is a viable option in a 200 pointer. You don't have enough other figures to protect him and present other threats to your opponent.
