The only preview that peaked my interest is Black Panther, I liked his dial, I liked that he can use pounce and nanobots for every step of his dial and I LOVE the Spider-Man TA. T-Bolt an Avenger to Batman, he now has stealth or Copy the Alt FF TA and he'll have a 19 D courtesy Mrs. Richards. Otherwise I really dont give a flying feather abot Dawkhawk as a click and a character. Shang Chi as a character, and Ares as a character. Bring on some new New Avengers like IF or LC or Doc Stange!

I'm going to be honest, I like this set. I think they've got a lot of the old characters that some have never heard of, and I think it's cool that they've included the invaders.

Unless he flies, then he shames me. SHAME. And for a figure that is supposed to be the most powerful metahuman on the planet, he only does 3 damage and only has 2 clicks of invulnerability? And leadership? Seriously? He was a criminal, so who would he be leading? I am just not that impressed. If he had a click of impervious, and at least one or two more clicks of invulnerability, then yeah, he would be good. But for the most powerful metahuman, he should be at least 200 points. not 1 point more than his old figure.

Ares likes his new pose with two swords ready to plunge into someone's chest and then cut off their head... just like that Gladiator guy Russell Crowe. I think I should call him out and challenge him!!!

I knew there was something wrong about them smoothies.... Anyway I got around to playing a couple other games with the new figs. Played three 800pt games with just the new figs from my brick no fig played twice. I managed to win my first two games but I just could'nt overcome the low attack values in my third team. Was nice when Cap got that 12 attack but his D is so low at that point its easy for the oponent to drop him. Beware the glass jaw on Molecule Man, yeah he has some impressive attacks and damage but its just way to easy to blow him apart. Ronin is great for the points, still not sure what I think about Taskmaster though it was fun to "borrow" Living Laser's D and Molecule Man's Attack, seems they made Taskmaster's D drop like a rock to make sure you suffer some pain for it. Got a few more new guys to try out next game and I will retry TG Kid and Spider-Man. Loving TG Kid and Spider-Man though TG got based and owned in the only game I played him so far, thinking he will be major fun on a regular team with apropriate perplexers to back him up. All in all a great set even with the tough to turn bases and over all low attack values.

P.S. That fricken Namor fig hits for 5 with 3 Dmg Close Combat Expert at some point on his dial, it hurts....hurts alot.

One friggin' click of running shot and a couple of EE would have been nice, and a lot more accurate.

Well, picked up my first few packs of Avengers today, and I got some pretty good pulls. The top of the list would have to be Namor (Quiet, SD), Ares, Winter Soldier, Iron Man, and Red Skull. I gave away red skull, and traded for a Taskmaster. So, I think I got some pretty good pulls out of 5 packs. (And no, I am not making this up. I have witnesses.) What are the highlights of everyone else's packs?

I was pretty stoked for that, but then I had to figure out how to get another Ares. Well, as I played in the CoG practice game today, I opened another booster to find TA DA! Another Ares! I don't think I stopped laughing for a good minute straight. The guy I traded the other Ares to just looked at me and asked me if I was the devil.

I just nodded.

Anyone else got stories of good luck to share?

Managed to trade for one of them old school looking Scarlet Witches yesterday, 35pt flying PC should be nice. Course I gave up my Wiccan for her, not sure that was a good idea but I hardly play the Wiccan guy and I know I'll get play out of the Witch. Man that Wiccan guy is sick, think I didnt play him out of guilt. Me and my friends are playing a total "Highlander" draft type game this Friday, only one of each charecter on the table with four of us each playing 800pt teams. Gonna try and play her for that to knock off the other Scarlet Witches if I get to pick first.

Highlander games are always fun. I never find it fun to play the same figures on the same team, unless it's along the lines of comic accurate (example: a "many faces of the spider" team where you run only spider-mans, but they have to have a different costume). Oh, and multiple man is the only exception to this rule though, but that's only because it's his niche.

i only like about a fifth of the set (most of which is super rares) but i hate the new system and cards (i lost all of mine yesterday(lucky i don't need them)) and the new distribution is just anoying, alot of the sculpts suck and are made of ####e plastic, plus the price has gone up and i can now longer buy a pack a week on my pocket money

i've just decided that i'm not going to buy packs annymore except at sealed and collect pokemon cards instead(seeing as i'm going to need a bunch of cards i might aswell get decent ones)

i just hate how they have redone it

Have to agree on WS, but don't deny Moon Knight, Hawkeye, Yondu, and Stardust their worth. I'm pretty sure Stardust is one of the most amazing figures I've seen in a while. Back him up with some trustworthy support, such as prob or TK, and you have yourself a very gross figure. and the Moonknight is like an upgraded original. And everyone knows the original Moonknight was a beast. More attack, stealth, with an 18 defense if you can even see him at range. Super Strength for that 4 damage beat down. The Avengers TA for that ever powerful T Bolts feat. Possibly Serpent Society? TK up, smack for 4, let him take a few clicks, leap climb, or serpent the hell out of battle with willpower. I personally love the new Moon Knight. Perhaps nanobots? when they smack him and he drops the object, he can just eat it back up. considering he has a base of less than 3 his whole dial this would be very useful. Or maybe you need a LoS blocker...Stealth + an 18 at range aint to shabby at blocking sight. With a team ability to add to this, he'd be great at it. Perhaps Heightened Reflexes with Skrull team ability? or even Mystics to make them think twice before hitting him. That split second of doubt can change the game in a heartbeat.

On a side note:
I do see a fair share of terrible figures as well,

Luke Cage for instance. Just another beat stick, 85 points of ####...average attack, below average defense.

The Guardsman. 32 pts of flying toughness....great... -.-

The Colonel. Darth maul wannabe comment put aside. This figure is terrible. 118 pts for 1 click of 3 damage, with below average defense, and toughness? ugh, makes me want to go make disco biscuits in my mouth.

anyways, that's just what I think of the set.

WOW! I can't believe that a lot of you dislike this set! Over half the figures are extremely playable! Are there issues with this set? Of course there are:

1. The young avengers are weak (except for Wiccan) and makes you long for the original LoSH from Hypertime & Cosmic Justice

2. AND, they forgot to do a Kate Bishop!

3. A few of the bases are hard to click (Some have reported a lot more than others).

4. The softer plastic used to make the figures (But I received NO broken pieces!).

But, there are some great, great pieces in this set. I give kudos to Wiz Kids for addressing the issues that have been reported.

I just got my Stardust today...And when I got him, I was amazed it was made by wizkids...greatest sculpt of all time. I mean I had to stare at him to take it all in. Can't wait to use him next week.

No way bro. I used that exact team the first week I played in these tournies. Heh, wierd. I played Surfer and Spitfire tonight. Had to play 3 ####ty teams.

First team consisted of a bunch of swarm figures (Shang Chi, Stingray, etc), picked them off quite easily (Made sure to cut Shang out first).

The 2nd team was 2 ULT Scarlet Witches, and an ULT Iron Man. This was the team I was most worried about. I made a good first shot on Iron Man early in the game though, which pretty much put the game downhill from there for him. He did manage to set me on Psychic Blast, and Kill my Spitfire though.

The final match was just lame...I fought 2 Dragon men and a Moon Knight... nuff Said. Had them out positioned from the start and just fired pot shots/ drive by's until they fell.

Pretty fun tourny overall.

Next week for the final tournament, I'm gonna run stardust. I just like that figure, so I think it'll be fun. If I pulled a wiccan, I would be absolutely stoked.
