Got to love PIRATES!
I will pick it up just to see how it is.
I'm with Manchine. Looks decent, we'll have to see how it plays, though. It's cheap enough. :)
Just going off of Draddog's first line of the post, I imagine that he gets a kick out of posts like:
"not this junk again
ughh

Draddog, you're a glutton for punishment.

It's cheaper than lunch, and gives me and my crew an excuse to get loaded on Rum on a sunny afternoon. I'm in.
And Thugit, I wish I could make a gun sign with my hand and shoot in the air while saying "natch" about your post.

Sucker.....
Seriously, though, if you don't need to invest in a starter to find out how it plays, I might pick one up. The only problem I can see is that I expect that I'll still be buying Ultimates boosters in July.

The release date & full booster contents.
Say, didn't the FF get sent back to the Spanish Main and The Thing got mistaken for Blackbeard in one of their early issues? Time for a recreation!

Yes- they breakdown of the booster. 2 ships, 1 crew or treasure and 1 island. Rules and die in each pack. Also, now we know the price.
VHD- btw, the cards are styrene, ie-plastic, not cardboard. Maybe it doesn't make a diff to you, but at lest they will be durable.
Yes, I can see buyiing a few just to see if it's a good beer and pretzels game, but I suspect I will have a hard time finding it in my area after the burn my local store took on Indy, Shadowrun, and Crimson Skies.....you know, sort of a fool me 4 times, shame on you, fool me a FIFTH time shame on me sort of thing. But then again he has almost managed to sell half of the MLB clix he bought(half a case....)
c
I wonder if we'll be able to use the boats as props in HC? Maybe a bit small for that.... you never know...
Can you imagine how many dice you'd end up with if you collected this game?

So, wait... how are they going to fit a bottle of rum into a booster that cheap?

The parents might need the rum to get through the "amazing nautical advantures"! No offense Wizkids but did you learn nothing from Crimson Skies, Shadow Run or Creepy Freaks?
Didn't we already see this post or am I having De'ja-vu?

I wonder how easy it will be to clad your ship so that all the sails sport scantily clad pirate babes. All the kiddies would love to see your ships and the buxom wenches displayed on the sails!!
Now to dig up a bunch o pix of pirate vixens and paste them all over the the sails of the "NASTY WENCH" the loveliest and naughty pirate ship of the new world!!
A ship full o baaaddd babes in next to nothing garments!!
{sounds like the expansion that could save this game!!}

Yes, they learned that their product lines that don't have Envoys or tourney prizes fail. Which is why they're going to have "Privateers" for this game.

Jon L has already stated that there will be no ninja expansion because (and I quote) "It wouldn't even be a contest. One booster of ninjas would wipe out an entire case of pirates, and everybody knows it."
WHAT'S the SCALE?
I want to see one of these things beside Aquaman...

I expect those coins next to the ships are about the size of a clix base... just a guess.

This looks to be just in time - I've been trying to persuade me mates to play nautical games of one stripe or another for months.
Looks affordable, too.

My concern with this game is that I hear that as the ship takes damage that parts are removed. If the ships are not very durable then then they will wear out and break. So my super rare $15 spanish main will be worthless after a few times of playing with him. Un like say Nightcrawler where as long as you don't break his sword he should keep working for many games and still be just as valuable as the day you got him.
Other than that I like the game becuase it is different. I like trying new things.

I would say "Arr $3 of pirates." if it was still originall or witty.

I was thinking this game could be pretty cool, but then I got a whole stack of Mage Knight 2.0 constructible terrain. It can be extremely difficult to assemble some of the three-piece terrains, and the pirate ships look far more complicated. I'll still check it out, but I'm worried about the styrene thing.
This just in: the first expansion will introduce a new 'uber' unit class that can fire pogs that hit everything in a circle of 3" radius at twice the range of all other ships. All teams that do not load up on these new types of ships will be instantly made obsolete.
Apologies to any disgruntled MW players for the thinly veiled comparison to your artillery units, which really trashed what could have been a darn fine game IMO.

Not surprising. The only ones who would disagree would be the pirates and how many of them are there really?.....like 3?:p
