Have you not played La Pucelle Tactics, Disgaea, Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom, Digaea 2?

Such a good series. And characters make cameos in the ones that come after them making it seem like one little world. I love that.


Edit: It's not Atlas actually, but NIS who makes these. Atlas just put them out in the usa for them on the first few games.

I like Disgaea the best. Really fun story to it and multipul endings give it some good replay value.

The only problem is these games are a little hard to find as NIS has a habit of underproducing their games.

I don't think 12 will dissapoint.....yeah, I was really ####ed off that it wasnt better. What really would have helped would have been less cinema's and more gameplay. I mean, the 3 days I played it, I didnt even play it that much....and I had only played 2 shooters before, 1 being Metal Arms, and the other Psy-Ops, so I didnt think I was skilled enough to have beaten it so quickly...but hey? I of course love Tactics & have beaten it twice. I would like to recommend another Tactics-type RPG to you. It's called Vandal Hearts & its for Playstation 1. It's very similiar to Final Fantasy Tactics in gameplay. It's got a cool story, great characters & it's fun to play. It is however a bit easy. THere are only 3 levels (from the main story) that are really difficult. THere is a subquest that presents some challenge, but you don't need to do it. Anyways you might wanna check it out. It came out before Final Fantasy Tactics & really was one of the first games to get me into Tactic RPG games. Of course Fire Emblem games are great as well.

Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories is suppose to be good. It plays like FF Tactics as well with the different classes and stuff.

FFVIII was probably my least favorite FF game. Don't get me wrong, it was a good game and all, but it just couldn't hold my interest like the other FF games. I beat it once and I haven't played it since, and thats been a good 6 or 7 years ago.

As for FFX, I do agree with slutny that Yuna's personality change was unprecidented, in the JP version of the ending of FFX, her words are not the same (keeping it spoiler free for anyone who plans to play it later). Although the dialogue of JP Yuna was "implied" the English voice over made it clearly obvious, and the transition to FFX-2's Yuna personality at least had some basis. There was long ago a number of debates on multiple JP BBS regarding Yuna's transition to FFX-2, and just like slutny, many were skeptical.. However, if you play through FFX-2 in its entirety, despite Yuna's "assertive" appearance, her character (including dialogue) is largely the same, she's semi-confident, yet indecisive and sometimes requires support for a decision. Anyways I could probably go on forever about this.. but I'll avoid doing that so I don't bore anyone XD.

As for SSJ4Goku's comment... that I don't entirely agree with, the history and background stories of both games are completely different. Although the common thread of "romance" exists, there are more than enough differences to deviate them from one another. If any FF plots are similar solely interms of plot, I'd have to say FFVII/FFX-2, however, this has already been addressed in the FFX-2 Ultimania Omega.

But that's enough of my ranting replies ^_^;; Got some more updates,

No... I'm not "Codename:Thunder" but I do come bearing preposturous news! First on the menu, I'm sure you guys all know that TGS is just wrapping up, and there have been some interesting tidbits floating around.

First off, the PS3 has dropped in price in Japan, from roughly 62000 yen, to 490000 yen. Those prices correspond to the "basic" package, since of course there was no specific retail price listed for the premium. However, despite this news, there's no word on a drop outside of Japan. This is also limited by the fact that apparenlty only 20000 units will initially sold at this price. Perhaps in the near future, there will be a U.S price drop though, so keep your fingers crossed!~

S-E also announced Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+, on top of your typical "FF_: International" title, KH2:FM+ Is going to have something radical: The first disc will have a remastered english version of KH2 with new scenes and features, the second disc will have the GBA game KH: Re:Chain of Memories; this is not a typical port however, the game has been fully redone into a 3d environment, and new battle features and destructible environment has been implemented. Although they say it's not as nice looking as KH2, it's still KH quality ;)

About the new Marvel Legends series, thanks for the info Dal, but if anyone's wondering why the series looks so radical and or is titled diffeerently, its because of the recent ToyBiz fallout to Hasbro (mentioned on the page) which happened in the past six months or so. However, this doesn't mean that the ToyBiz ML is finished, there's still the Mojo Series as well as Modok series until Hasbro takes over. And if I'm not mistaken, ToyBiz will still control the "Showdown" series which is currently on Series 3

I'm pretty knew to buying foreign music cd's and wanted to buy the FF VII game soudtrack box set and the FF AC soundtrack cd. But the only ones I can find on ebay are asian imports, are these the only versions availible?
So I have a few questions for you

1. Are these the versions that you own?
2.Are these official cd's or bootlegs?
3.Will they play in any cd player, say the one in my car?

and any other info you can supply would be helpful thanks.

I bought most of mine at a local Video Game store that used to carry imported Game Music. So yes the ones I have are imports. The ones I own are the offical soundtracks & yes they play in any CD player. I don't know if ebay has the offical ones or not (probily depends on who you buy from). THe officall FF7 soundtrack has 4 cd's if that helps & this interesting art of Cloud on the cover. I don't own the FF7 Advent Children soundtrack actually so I don't know about that one.

The first one looks legitimate, however the seller does not. General rule of thumb is to distrust sellers from Taiwan/HK/Malaysia, not to discriminate, but a majority of the products from there are bootleg. The second one I'm not sure what the AC OST looks like so I can't be of much help there sorry. As mmac was saying though, it should work on any player, and the FFVII:OST is indeed 4 discs.

Yes I am not pleased that you can't play DOAX or DOAU on the 360.....I don't have the original Xbox (although my brother does & I've played DOA3, DOAU & DOAX through his) I bought DOA3 as soon as I knew 360 could play it...I would do the same with the other ones if they ever became backwards compatable. But making a DOA Clan is not a half bad idea....I wouldn't mind making one if enough people are interested, I suppose we can just talk about DOA here as well though. What do you think? Anyways Tina hmmm, yeah Tina is probily my 2nd favorite (she always seems to make me laugh a bit at what she says or does in the DOA games).
