Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories came out guys. Not a Final Fantasy but it does star some of them.

It isn't bad. The card system gets some taking used to before you can play much like you did in the first one. There's some cool moves in the game though, Cloud as a summon is just awesome, but the story itself is just a retelling of the events in the first game with a little more plot to set up the second game.

Of course I haven't made it to Reverse Rebirth yet, so the Riku side of the game may just be 100% new. I'll let you all know.

BTW, I figured we could start doing the dials for characters again. I know we put them on hold while we got a set plotted out but everyone seemed to have more fun just thinking up dials. We'll just cram a set together when we get enough figures. I'm pretty sure thats what they do at Wizkids to make a set.

So start cranking out those dials. And I'm really looking forward to seeing your Tactics dials Cloud.

Paying for the game and for the internet service is bad enough. Now you have to pay to play the game also.

Yeah Cloud hit the nail on the head. It's why I don't play a lot of on-line games. A good number of them (all?) make you do the pay as you play thing. If they are going to get money that way then the hardware to play it should be dirt cheep. $20 or something like that. And I don't like the fact that if you pre pay and then your computer dies or something like that then you just wasted money two fold.

Not to mention your computer is going to be outdated in 6 months or so. Then you'll have to buy more RAM and video cards to make up for it.

The only thing I don't think fits for the Martial Arts master of 6 is the pulse wave, regen, and support.

Switch the pulse wave with quake and just take off the support and regen. I think he's one bad arse figure enough.

Oh wait, he does have a healing Blitz doesn't he...keep the support then, almost forgot about that.

I have no idea what triggers them in 6. The book in Anthologies only mentions that they exist and the original book for 3(6) doesn't even do that. He's the only one I've seen do one though supposidly all the characters have one. He was crouching (almost dead pose) and the only one left standing when it happened. Been trying to pull it off again but have had no luck in doing so.

My experience with the Limit Break in 6(3) was much like your's, Seph. Sabin was almost knocked out and he finished off the guy we were fighting with the "Tiger Blow" (I think that was what it was called). This happened on the SNES and I've not been able to repeat it.

Thanks for the comments on the dial. The Regen might be a little much, but I went with the PW for the Fire Dance because he can hit everybody on screen with it.

So I finally found a FF Clan. Gotta say, huge fan. I own all the FF on Psx and PS2, except XI, and Crystal Chronicles. Havent had the high speed internet to purchase XI yet. Well, I know from talking to many other FF enthusiast, there are 2 groups. Ones who like VII, and ones who dont. I myself, and a HUGE fan of VII. VII and IX were my faves. on Playstation. VIII was alright, but X and X-2....wow...what happened? SNOOZE CITY! Ive been watching Advent Children previews since the day it previewed in Japan, and am waiting to purchase it the first day its revealed in the US. Will Aerith come to life? I DONT KNOW! Anyways, so if almost every char. is chosen, can I pick from these?

I need to make my dial. Im really thinkin about what Zack would have. We dont know much about him, just the little we hear about him in the story. I guess hes pretty close to cloud's dial. I was thinking HSS, cause he has his limit breaks. I could give it to him at the end, just kinda beef up his attack and damage after his defense has fallen. I dunno...Ill work on it between work and class, and post it on here when its completed.

What Gameboy Kingdom Hearts did you play? The guy slighs so much it's almost impossible to carry out a combo on him and his deck is nothing but 3's and 0's.

A) Had a better combat system. The card breaking bugs me. You either make a battle way to easy by breaking your opponent all the time or it's way to hard due to the opponent breaking you.

B) The first half of the game wasn't just a retelling of events in the first Game. Get me to reverse rebirth #### it!!! That's where the real story is. I don't give a flip about this blond chick.

I'm playing through Sora's story right now. Hook gave me some trouble. I didn't have any cards higher than a 6 and he kept on breaking my healing spells. I hadn't used any combos by that point in the game, so having them used against me was something new. I had little problems after that (up until the last Riku:angry:).
I'm trying to get through the game quickly soes I can get to playn' Resident Evil 4 :knockedou. Not to mention Minish Cap, Paper Mario, Viewtiful Joe 2...

http://geo-media.net/clix/dial_calc.html is the dial gen i used. They didnt have EW, so I used CCE, seeing it would cost about the same.

The reason for Charge, of course is he can move and attack. His last click is much higher because of his Limit Break. Hince flurry. Of course you can understand the BCF. Inv. and Tough were the only things that would fit his defense. I gave him 2 clicks of regen at the end for his item usage. I thought perplex would help him enhance he and her teammates. I thought EW would be good for him with his 2 damage. Battle Fury on his last click because of the rage of the limit break. We really dont know much about Zack, just what we can pull from the storyline, so I tried to base him close to Cloud, but give him some differences.

Yeah....anywho...Has anyone played the Gameboy FF 1 and 2 yet? Is it worth picking up or is the one I have in Origins fine? Just wondering.

In other RPG news, Xenosaga 2 is just kick ### awesome. Different voices for a couple of the characters but all in all it is good. Graphics are through the roof and it's two discs long. A playstation 2 game thats two disks long!!! It does suffer the same problem as the first, cut sceen after cut seen. But this time they do provide save points after them so you don't have to sit through them again if you die.

I havent picked up the new gameboy FF...I hear its supposed to be COMPLETELY different. I dont know. Origins I think is enough. It seems like if they messed with it, they would prolly end up just screwing it up. As for Xenosaga, I havent heard much about 2. I didnt really get into the first one much. Xenosaga 2 is really good but some of the cut scenes take about a half hour to play out. You can't just play it for 15 minutes and set it down. It requires a time commitment to play. Yeah I know, all RPGs require a time commitment, but this game requires even more.

Good game though, combat is improved and a little more like Xenogears. Characters are still cool looking (I want a chaos click just for the sculpt) and no real lag time in the loading this time either. Only bad thing is there is no armor and everyone learns the same skills. The skill thing is both good and bad, no unique skills, but you can use the characters you like this time around, MOMO doesn't #### either. (I like the magical girl type.)

If you liked Xenosaga you'll like the sequel. It's even eluding to 'gears this time too.

Hey thatnks for the welcome back guys!

Where have I been hiding? University Campus you could say... more likely DYING there though LOL. Also I've been catching up on some anime that I've missed out on the past few years as you can see by my sig :D

But yeah.. just to get back into the chat, apparently FFVII:AC is now going to be released 1 year from the projected date of last year (July 2005). It's supposedly going to release right around the time of War of the Worlds and Fantastic Four.. man that's a crazy month of movies there!

But also on topic... I made an AC Cloud on "Fenrir" heroclix mod prior to my "retirement" back in August or so, if anyone wants to see it I might be able to post some pictures of my mods on my website.

Yeah, I just noticed my lvl today. I think azs hates me. DS gave me a verbal warning, and then azs gives me a warning about the same thing. I learned my lesson, i swears! Nah, its just magic guys. There was a fighting game clan at one point, but it just kinda died out. There's a link to a fighting game site that I still use today that I got inside the thread. Very informitive. If you like fighting games that is.

Nah. I actually despise all fighting games besides tekken. I guess maybe its just because it has a storyline to it? I dunno, Ive just grown up with tekken 1-5 so Im hooked. Anyone check out Devil May Cry 3 yet? I own 1 and 2, but havent been able to pick up 3 yet...

I have Devil May Cry 3, its hard as hell, but a very good game nonetheless.

Actually Mage I have to disagree with you on the part about fighting games not having a storyline. You're right on the most part like in the case of Street Fighter, the story hasn't developed since Street Fighter II (SFIII didn't really say much..) The same goes for DOA, while they've tried to establish a plot with Kasumi, she's by far underdeveloped in background and the other supporting cast is even worse (except for Ryu who has Ninja Gaiden)

Guilty Gear... X/XX there's a story?! o_O
Same goes for the Capcom versus games series. O_o

But personally I think King of Fighters has a decent storyline, I mean they make an effort to add to the existing story every year at least, (even though their sprites look the same lol), so we should give them a "little" credit for that ;)

But yeah, you're right for the most part, but being a KOF fan I think it deserves a little recognition :D

HEY SQUALL, LETS SEE SOME MODS!

Im awaiting my Green Gobby mod to be finished. Its so sweet looking. I didnt just repaint the hobgobby like everyone else does. Ill have to show him to you guys when im finished. I also sculpted a sweet ### jacket for my Scarlet Spidey mod. Im awaiting the paint job on that too. I cant paint wortha ####, so I have my cartoonist friend do it for me. FOR FREE! Yeah..Ive beat tekken 5 with every character, and have only had it for 3 days. This is the hardest tekken out so far. Tekken 4, I can beat the entire game with any character in under a minute. This one took me about 3, so its a big difference. Yeah, i really need to pick up DMC 3. I so wanna play it. I loved the second one, and hear this one is even better! Well guys, im off to sleepytime. Its been real.

Can't blame a mod for doin' his job. It sucks to be on the reciving end but with out them we'd still have Superman33, Basil, and ENDERX anoying the hell out of everyone. And we wouldn't have the ignore button either.

If you don't think Fighting games have story I'd suggest picking up the comics done by Udon. Both the Street Fighter and Darkstalkers books have been very good and they take all the confusing story we've seen in the multiple games and streamline it into one story that's very good. Sakura in SF is a riot to read.

Sabin, Issue 4 of Darkstalkers came out this week. I haven't read it yet but it's an issue giving back story on the Frankentien's Monster fighter in that game. Forget his name right now.

Squall, Yeah it's tieing that Alpha stuff in it but it's also explained why Cammy was a bad guy and now a good guy, and you're seeing more about Ken's history with Balrog. I thought the whole thing with Fei Long, Chun Li, and Gen was awesome. And you're getting to see Sakura's actual training with Ryu. He recently showed her (off screen) how to do the Wave Fist technique. It's all good.

But it could be worse I guess, they COULD be playing up more the ChunLi/Guile thing they do in nearly every series/game.. am I the ONLY one who thinks Chunny's too good for him?!?!?! lol

As for the DS comic... I've yet to see it around here.. but then again I don't see SF released on a "regular interval" so who knows...

Morrigan is a beast in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Her and Iron Man can light up a screen with their supers.

With the SF comic though you get three story lines going at the same time, and they cross only so often. You have the Ken/Ryu story, the Chun-li/Guile story, and the Cammy story all going on at the same time. Guile is now in the Ken story for the time being and Cammy's has crossed with Chun-li. It's been really well done so far and they've even shown a couple Street Fighter 3 characters too. All in all, they've done a great job with all the wierd story lines that game has come up with.

Personaly I'm waiting for Guy to show up. That might be just me though.

The Most I ever had was 132 hits with Ironman, War Machine and BB Hood.

wow, I don't really remember. Been a while. I know that Mega Man and Gambit can make that number go up high too. That's if you can get Gambit to hit with ALL his cards.

I'm honestly not sure, and to be honest those 3 char supers are pointless against human opponents (either than to chip damage lol). You'd never actually get one of those off unless it's by coincidence kekeke.

But on that topic, I'm pretty sure cable hits for more hits than war machine so you could try that....

I never have trouble hitting someone with the 3 man super combos.

I almost always use Cable instead of BB Hood, but she can land more hits with her Super combo. I can't do around 110 hits average with Iron Man, War Machine, and Cable.

Im not really for sure how many it was, but my fav. characters to use (cheese chars) are Cable, Iron man, and War machine. With them, I can wipe through the entire game in under 3 mins. Now if I wanted to be a nuisance, ill use the special wolvie, the one you have to unlock. He just jumps like a ##### and claws the hell outta everything. If I go heavy hitters, its usually Doom, Thanos, and Magneto. There are a few Capcom char. I like to play, but I mostly just hit everyone with marvel. Anyone unlock everything? I have all the characters, and all the stages, but only about half the costumes....i get bored with it after a few hours....
