Ditto on unlocking everything. It's fun to fire up every now and then just to beat on everyone in it.

My favorite team is Sakura(Dash), Spider-man(Capture), and Doom(Anti-Air).

I like playing the Capcom characters more. MegaMan, Hyato, BB Hood, Son Son, and Jill are all great characters.

Yeah, the Zombies and Zombie Dogs are fun to send after people. Whenever you do it, Jill turns toward the zombie and gives out a little scream. I like how she busts out the 4 missle rocket launcher out of no where as well.;)

Cloud's Fenrir is COMPLETELY different from it, i literally had to remake the entire bike from ground up :(

It took me a while to actually get past the first boss. I had to play him enough to get down his teleports, then it was no problem. Im now on mission 3, but Ive only played it for 10 mins. Im just swamped with things this Easter weekend. Im making time for it tonight though!

There in the RPG part of the board. All the Dials say Dalandow's whatever. Ex. Dalandow's Ramza, Dalandow's Gafgarion. Its in alphabetical order.

But I did run into a problem though..........alot of the Characters are going to be almost identical, for example: Delita, Wiegraf, TG Cid, and Vormav. I don't know how I'm going to deal with that.

I don't play much console games anymore, it wrecked up on me around october, I saw a little spark and then it just refused to turn on. I'm pretty sure either the power ribbon inside is blown/not connected, or the PSU fuse is fried, but I've been too lazy to check it out, as my Electronics skills are super rusty lol.

But I have been playing my Xbox (rarely lol) and Gamecube most often for Naruto... However, like I was saying there's alot of games coming out for PS2 that I want to play or I have not yet played:

I played the demo of God of War and I'll have to say it looked great. It's the first game like it that I've played. It was fun kickin' the Hydra's buts all over the ships.

Been playing a throwback classic the past few days.

Secret of Evermore

It's a great game in the style of Secret of Mana. Has the ring commands, a second CPU driven character you can tack control if you want, and a great magic system based loosely off of alchemy. It's a pain to keep all the items in inventory to cast the spells though.


Has me thinking, are there any classic square games you find yourself going back to play even though they are horribly outdated now a days?

You can call sony and tell them whats wrong with your ps2, and they will replace it or give you a new one for free. I mean, all you have to pay for is shipping to get it there. You have to stay on the phone for a while, but they fixed mine for me.

When did hand held systems get as expensive as the normal systems.

What I liked about my game boy, it cost 60 bucks and the games where 30. Just right for a hand held game I'm going to play every now and then.

Thank you God, I thought I was the only person who thought Halo was overated.

Since Square merged with Enix, their games have been nothing but ####. Other than FFX-2 and FFXI. Can't blame the staff for leaving them.

Halo just promised to much and then some of the basics that made the first one fun went away.

Haven't played much since the merger. Maybe it's for the better.

The people who made Phantom Brave have a new game in the works. I'm looking forward to that.

It's a tactics type game with some cartoony graphics. If you don't mind that you'll find a very unique game that allows you to build to insane levels (max is 9999!) and has a lot of customizable options in it. Best part is there are only two story characters so the others can all be named by you and makes them a little more personal.

After you beat it there are some nasty secret bosses that make you "cheese" out the game to beat them.

And if you've played Disgaea, La Pucelle Tactics, or Rhapsody you'll recognize some of the later bosses.

Awesome game, but not everyone's cup o' tea. I'd say rent it and give it a try.

Yeah, its good. Its very oringinal. The characters are all oringinal (Pro-Wrestling Vampire who is also a Super-Hero, an Old Man who use his Mareinette as a Weapon, an increadiably intellegent wolf, a Young Russian Princess amoung others), the plot is solid (its happens during world war 2), its just a good game in General. But.......................................................................God of War is extremely Bad###, so get it instead.

Paper MArio was quite interesting... but Mario RPG kicks arse! that game rules... i am still looking for an Mario RPG rom so i could play it on the computer... Though i have it on SNES but i am too lazy to hook it all up...lol

It was the world happiest rpg. I loved the optional boss you could fight. The game played boss music from FFIV during that fight. I also liked the way Bowser used Mario as a weapon.

Yeah, that gets me every time. I just tweek the deck I have after getting my arse handed to me in the boss fight. I've got my deck to do these slieghs right off.

Its called Advent Children, and is set to come out this fall. The game was a video game masterpiece. If you dont know much about Vincent, and would like to know more, just ask.

I dont know. I think im going to have to disagree. I like what they are doing with the movie. I also think its the best FFVII is the best one out. Ive been dreaming of a revamped FFVII ever since 8 came out. If everything goes well in the movie though, which its looking pretty good so far, then maybe things will turn out for the better, and we'll get a revamp.

I was starting to worry about both the game and the movie as I have heard very little about both of late.

Oh, my fav FF game would have to be 7. I love them all (well, except x-2) but 7 is just above and beyond the rest. Hopelessly addictive is the best description for it.
I still have my Aeris keyring that I bought when I was 13! If they ever re-made the game I would probably wet myself. Yes that is gross but that is how cool it would be!

It is a tough call for me, but I guess I will give the honour to SHIVA!

I can vividly remember the first time I saw her FF8 intro. I was gob-smacked! The way she blinks and her ice cocoon shatters before she does this awesome sailor-moon esk power up and whamo! My over the top enthusiasm is still recalled vividly by my bro. Plus I got goosebumps the first time I saw FF10 Shiva perform diamond dust. The snap of her fingers was just out of this world!

Diablo of FF8 and Anima of FF10 - those two just oozed cool
Siren of FF8 - Awesome babe (would love to see her return some day)

Yeah, Shivas always been a fav. of any fanboy. Bahamut has always had a place in my heart though. I just like seeing all the different forms he takes throughout the games. I didnt care too much for FF8, but I have to admit, the cinematics were superb compared to FF7. All of the summons were tight. I liked diablo, but then again, I liked doomtrain, and hades too. Man...I might just have to go back and play some FF8!

Now I shall pose the question(and I hope it hasn't been asked before) Who is the most unique character in the FF series?

My choice has to be Zone from FF8, he is a character type that, quite frankly I have never seen before, and probably won't ever see again.

Most unique I'd say was the villian Wrexsol. Only guy I can remember possesing one of your own party members and making you kill them to see which body he was hiding in.

This time he moved into an apartment and locked himself in. After not hearing from him for a long time, his mother called the police. When they found him he was dead in his little room on the floor by his computer. The following was compiled from interviews, official announcements and transcripts of trailers and screenings. The information is accurate at the time of publish and is subject to change as more is revealed about Advent Children. Be warned that this plot summary contains spoilers. [Updated April 2005]


Set two years after the events of Final Fantasy VII, Cloud now leads a solitary life traveling the Planet as a transporter. The office of Strife Delivery Service is located in 7th Heaven, which also functions as an orphanage for children stricken with Geostigma.

Three new enemies make an appearance in Advent Children. Kadaj, their leader, is in his teens, while Yazoo and Loz are known to be in their twenties. In them, Cloud sees shadows of FFVII’s fallen hero, Sephiroth. The three are after “Mother” and refer to Cloud as their “Brother”. Having obtained Jenova’s head, their purpose appears to be to start another Reunion. Vincent suspects that with Jenova’s cells, they may even be able to create another Sephiroth.

A non-contagious disease known as Geostigma is spreading across the Planet, with Kadaj claiming that it is due to Jenova’s cells working hard in the Lifestream. Children tend to show signs of Geostigma first, though adults are susceptible to the disease as well. Symptoms of Geostigma include mental weakness, pain and even death. Cloud is known to suffer from this disease though he hides his affected arm beneath his sleeve. He is heard coughing and clutching his arm in some parts of the trailers. Victims bandage affected regions and it was Cloud’s used bandage, which Marlene found in the Church, that gave away his condition.

According to the creators, the Church will feature prominently in the movie. Besides being the place Cloud calls home, it is also the stage for the fight between Tifa and Loz. Despite her valiant attempts, Tifa is ultimately defeated and Loz makes off with Marlene and the rest of the children. Cloud arrives late and brings the barely conscious Tifa back to 7th Heaven.

Reno and Rude arrive at 7th Heaven, Cloud having been hired by Rufus to be his “bodyguard” from the three new foes. The ShinRa President suffers from Geostigma as well and is wheelchair-bound. Rufus has been reconstructing Midgar and searching for any traces of influence that Sephiroth might have left on the Planet, to which he has found none. He now resides at the Healin Lodge, also known as the Geostigma Sanatorium. The Turks report that the three silver-haired youths have brought the children to their headquarters, the City of the Ancients.

Cloud still carries emotional scars from the last time we saw him. Weighed down by memories of loved ones he has lost and his physical condition, he now comes across as devoid of hope. Ever the reluctant hero, it takes much persuasion from Tifa after the children are captured for Cloud to decide to go after them. Perhaps it is only during his dream-like encounter with Aerith on the way to the City of the Ancients that he finally makes some progress. The two meet back-to-back in the flower field, beneath a pure white sky. Cloud struggles to voice his desire to seek forgiveness, to which Aerith says that she already has forgiven him. Consoled but still unconvinced, Cloud sets out on his path of redemption.

Kadaj speaks to the children by the shore of the lake in the City of the Ancients, rallying them to join forces with him against the Planet. They ambush Cloud and the children form a circle around him, preventing his escape. Kadaj calls Cloud a traitor and is about to execute him when Vincent swoops down and brings Cloud to safety. Marlene escapes and rejoins Cloud and Vincent in the woods. They then chase the silver-haired youths and the children back to Midgar.

Midgar is in chaos when they return. Kadaj has unleashed a swarm of Shadowcreepers which attack the townspeople while Cid, Barret, Vincent, Yuffie and Red XIII fight them off. Tifa is shown shielding Denzel, one of the orphans under her charge. Reno and Rude battle Yazoo and Loz respectively. Kadaj is seen looking down from a damaged building with Rufus, during which he summons Bahamut Sin. Cloud then practically flies towards the dragon, kamikaze-style, as it prepares to launch an attack on the city.

It should be noted that Tifa, Cid, Yuffie, Red XIII and Marlene have each been seen carrying a ribbon. Cloud, too, has been spotted with one tied around his left arm during what appears to be a flashback. Here, his arm is not covered by a sleeve, presumably before he contracted Geostigma, and he is seen fingering the ribbon in the rain. Whether the ribbons are simply a gesture of friendship or even a sign of mourning remains uncertain.

The scene then shifts to Cloud scaling up the side of a building with a sword in each hand while explosions go off. As the buildings collapse around him, he looks up and we see Sephiroth in all his former glory. The line, “I won’t remain just a memory.” is heard. From out of the debris, sword drawn, a familiar face is seen. None other than Sephiroth has returned.

I dont know...the gameplay just didnt appeal too much to me. Maybe it was the whole Rockstar thing...I dunno.....or the storyline. It was like they were trying to get girls into FF...

Nothing wrong with trying to get a different audiance into a game.

Gameplay wise I loved it. I'm a big fan of the Job System whether it be in V, Tactics, or X-2. The variety it offers up is a lot more than the typical 6-9 characters they put in a game.

Storywise, not a big fan. Like I said, a little girly. The multiple endings to various things, and to the game itself though, is much worth it. And I love retardedly hard things like the 100 floor dungeon. It's one of the things that keeps me playing Atlas games.

I enjoyed X-2. It was fun for what it was. I also dug the job system (I'm playing FFTA right now and LUV'N it) and being able to switch between jobs on the fly was awesome. The little quips the gals shot off during fights cracked me up. And I have NO problem with girls playing games.

The rumor monger at EGM sighted from "very, very" reliable source that while Square/Enix is denying it, a PS3 version of VII is in the works, so we might get ir after all. This makes total sense, since it would be a BIG TIME money maker and they need one of those big time. XII has been pushed back until 2006 and there are reports that during the week of E3 the game's director was in Japan praying for the game(!). Oh well. At least we have Advent Children, KH2, and Dragon Quest VIII (which looks rather interesting, by the way) to look forward to.
