Hi there,

I'm playing Heroclix for a couple of months now and I'm quite enjoying myself. I don't know exactly why i started, but it's certainly not because I read many comics!

I did like comic book characters but haven't read much before than the occassional X-Men or Spider-Man issue. It was mainly the animated X-Men series (the old one, not the new evolutions) and both the movies that got me into it I guess.

Now I'm into HC, I'm trying to get into some comics. I started reading Streetfighter and Thundercats. I like them very much, but they're not much tied to HC, so to say.

Marvel and DC - issues I read recently are: the 1st 2 issues of both Iron Fist and She-Hulk. I really like the She-Hulk comic, and Iron Fist is okay. I think I'll finish this IF arc and then drop the comic. I'm also reading the Tenth Circle series from JLA. That's quite intriguing to read.

What I actually wanted to ask is: what X-Men comic should I read if I want to get into the X-Men universe? It seems there are quite some different options available, but I don't know what to choose. Storm and Nightcrawler are my favorite characters, so if that helps, could you tell me which line has the most interesting story lines for them?

Any good X-Men TPB I could read? I already have the Essential X-Men vol.1 and liked it very much.

Any other non X-Men TPB that are really good? Either DC or Marvel will do.

Sorry if this post was too confusing or not to the point  , but I hope some of you guys can give me some advice.

Avengers: the end of the Avengers is coming, Avengers dissasembel will probably be a good story.

X-Men: right now are about to relaunch in the form of X-Men:Reload, it will be a relaunch for every x-men title so you better wait for it to start, the pick one of each and choose what's best for you
reload its gonna be:
New X-Men: Academy X (based on the school, kinda like new mutants)
X-Men (right now this book is called New X-Men)
Uncanny X-Men (core X-Men book)
Astonishing X-Men (this will be Josh Whedon's book).

Spider-Man: i like Amazing.

the Silver Surfer book has been different but good.

or you can always go the ultimate way, right now you can find every tp of every ultimate book out there.

The Ultimates: this are the Avengers of the Ultimate universe, some people like 'em better than the original Avengers, i don't, but hey to each his own.

Ultimate X-Men: the first couple of arcs were action packed, right now bendis is writing it so its more dialogue driven.

Ultimate Spider-Man: to its the best the ultimate universe has to offer.

Ultimate antastic Four: i'm just reading this just to see if we're gonna have an ultimate Silver Surfer.

If you're into the cosmic stuff, I recommend the Thanos book. If you're into adult type reading, give the Ultimate books a try.

X-statix, X-force, X-nation etc. Are they nice? Or am I better of reading some of the current X-Men titles?

What's this about relaunch of X-Men? Will they collect stories from all lines, or will it be new stories (or old storylines but with new graphics/lines etc.)?

And I heard about 1602. Is it still running? How many parts does it have? I looked at the Marvel site but couldn't really find any 1602 related.
Will there be a TPB soon (or is there already?), or should I buy all issues one by one?

Sorry for all the questions, I hope some of you can answer.
Thanks from a comic-newbie
