Aparently, the Thing from Fantastic Four died in the regular comic. When did this occur, how, and why? Who took his place? This really freaked me out.

Took place a few issues ago. Doom possessed his body and Reed shot him with some crazy gun. He's back now.

Reed didnt shoot him with a gun S.H.I.E.L.D shot him with a special gun made to kill him because they had taken over Latveria

Reed killed Grimm with a weapon supplied by Nick Fury. Doom had possessed Grimm and was going to kill Johnny. So Reed killed Grimm. 2 pages later he announced he was going to bring him back from the dead. He did.
Unthinkable was an awesome comic. I am now a die hard Fantastic FOur fan because of it.
