in clix, darkseid no problem. In comics Thanos, he's managed to almost (sooo close :) ) take over the entire universe on 3 seperate occasions!!! plus he's really power and intelligent to boot

Uh, Flat Foot? In DC v. Marvel, they really didn't show much of the fight. Seemed to be a draw.

HOWEVER: In Marvel v. DC Thanos holds off Capt Marvel, GL and Wonder Woman, while Darkseid fought Silver Surfer, Storm and Thor. Overall, Thanos held off more power in my opinion.

I think they would team up and conquer all...until Galactus eats them.

okay let's just point out the obvious outcome that happens in every cross company vs match - marvel fans are gonna vote thanos, dc fans are gonna vote darkseid. It's plain as day.

but the best part is Marvel fans outnumber DC fans, so in the end Thanos is always gonna win :p :p :p :p :p :p

Thanos consumed the entire Marvel universe, and that's including ALL of the cosmic entities (Galactus, Living Tribunal, Inbetweener, Mephisto, Odin) in Thanos; The End. Luckily, Adam Warlock showed up from another universe and made fun of him, so Thanos chose to die so that the universe may be.

Darkseid knows how to get the best of Superman.

Beating Odin, Galactus, Mephisto, and The Living Tribunal, along with EVERY MARVEL HERO, then waxing philosophical about how it would have been better if you lost is impressive.

Losing to Superman and the forces of New Genesis, even though you cheesed them off pretty good isn't as impressive.

Although Thanos had the Infinity Gauntlet and the like to do it- aside from the Main Power Batter of GL, I can't think of any item in DC that'll let you do that kind of thing.

Thanos has omnipotent resources to use when he can grab them, Darksied has remained a major threat almost constantly with just one planet that has a natural opponent full of people of incredible power.

Also, The Great Darkness saga Darksied is way stronger than the current one (who almost seems weaker than he used to even in modern apperances). If you want to compare a version of DS against Thanos after his upgrades... how about the one who stole power from Mordru and the Time Trapper?

The only person who can defeat Thanos is himself. He has augmented himself to the level of a god, by combining his Eternal heritage with mysticism and technology. He can no longer die, he has spurned Death. He can swat away the cosmic bolts of an angry Silver Surfer.

Thanos has repeatedly beaten cosmic entities far more powerful than himself by outwitting them, and turning them against each other. He is the greatest schemer in the universe.

Thanos has a gargantuan starship designed for ravaging planets, Sanctuary II.

Thanos has better friends. How can Darkseid contend with PIP THE TROLL??? hehe Actually, his teleportation has no limitations. If Thanos tells Pip to send him to Darkseid's control room when no one's around, nothing can stop him.

Darksied has the Omega Effect, Thanos has a million force fields. He can take several small blasts or possibly 1 or 2 large ones.

Thanos has a tendancy to teleport and bring enemies to a preordaned spot.

Darksied is highly intellegent, Thanos is the most intellegent being in either universe.

Darksied has lackies, Thanos has a few allies, The Defenders, Adam Warlock and mistress Death.

Hmm the pro's outweigh the cons in this one. In a straight up fight Darkseid would have a slight ranged advantage. If Thanos closes the gap its all over but the crying. Thanos trained the greatest assasin in Marvel (Gamora) so his fighting lvl is far and beyond that of Darkeid's.

If this is only a closed area 1-1 fight Ill say DRAW. If its at all drawn out or the combatants can use there full arsenal for whatever purposes it will become a battle of Brains vs. The Brawn of Apokolips.

Thanos doesn't use artifacts of power to kill someone. He's is more than capable on his own. He uses artifacts to kill everyone. Last time I saw Darkseid in action, Superman, the man of brawn blinded him and beat him down one-on-one. Thanos cannot be beaten with brute force, he can only be deterred from his plans.

Okay, the idea is there... who else demands that the next Marvel/DC collaboration be Superman vs. Thanos?

These two are my favorite villains. I've often wondered who'd win in an all out fight betwen these two. They're very much alike. Comparable stength,stamina,durability and intelligence. Both of them are extremely evil, but despite that they are also both very honorable.

I think the clincher for Darkseid is his deadly Omega Effect beams. Sooner or later they will connect and when they do I don't think Thanos would survive.

to those who think Thanos is smarter and can beat Darkseid, read JLA: Rock of Ages, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Our Worlds At War, Marvel Vs. DC Crossover....

honestly this is futile, as we are basically asking DC and Marvel fans whose characters are better...

Cap vs. Bats
GL vs. SS
Darkseid vs. Thanos
Spectre vs. Galactus...

if you want something interesting, why not have the DC fans choose the Marvel Character and Vice Versa. its obvious that, as a DC fan, i'm gonna choose a DC character in such a debate. so why don't we all pick the opposite and try and explain the circumstance in which our favored character would get the snot beat out of him.

for example:

i pick Thanos.

He would, instead of challenging Darkseid directly, act as the "tricksy little titanses" that he is and kill everyone on Apokolips somehow copying and using the Astroforce. Darkseid would jump to conclusions and fight Orion. the ensuing battle would cripple him substansially, but he would win. Weakened, he would then be no match for the sly "Mad Titan", who would then reveal himself and finish off the Lord of Apokolips and present the planet, completely populated by corpses, to his Mistress Death.

thanos can't die anymore... seems like an unfair advantage.
thanos withstood a blast from galactus.... doomsday walked thru darksied's omega effect beam.
willing to bet thanos could withstand a omega beam.... and probably figure out how to steal/absorb/redirect the next one.
