To celebrate the release of <b>Marvel HeroClix</b>: <i>Ultimates</i>, play in a <a href="http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/marvel/gameresources.asp?cid=39043">pre-release event</a> near you! Events kick off June 19th and 20th at Venues around the world! Check back often as we add more Venues to the list!

Will the boosters cost more?
It's great to see Wizkids giving the fans more events to look forward to, but what happened to the release date for Ultimates? I thought it was scheduled to come out in late May, not late June.

Universe was slated for late May. Ultimates is late June.
Cool idea, but none of these places are anywhere near me. Heard of the midwest, WizKids? :-P
It's been years since I've been to a prerelease; I hope they end up having one I can get to :-)

BroMags, can we have some indication how a venue gets chosen? I'd be happy to tell you how great my place is, but if the decision is already made...
Is there an application I have to fill out on behalf of the venue to volunteer our ample gaming space for important Wizkids stuff?

How about Australian venues? Can we get in on this too, or is another one of those US only deals?
I just hope we get one here in Texas i.e. in the DFW area kuz that would be cool cant think of a better way to spend my Birth day err waite ok so i can think of a better way but this would still be nice for during the day B^)

Now if we can get a straight awnser to the queston:
How do we get venues signed up for this event???
My guess is that Wizkids is only going to offer this to retalers that move a S**t-ton of product, so that smaller venues won't have a chance in Hades of getting these events scheduled.
I see nothing on my home page for Wizkids. :(

It seems that Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Dallas, or Wichita would be a better place to have it, but whatever, I guess.
Might sound stupid, but does this mean there will be two events for Ultimates? Pre Release And a Marquee? :p

I'm dying to know how this is going to proceed for Venues and who can and cannot sign up. I'm trying to stay positive, but I'm having bad feelings, and the lack of any up front info only solidifies that thus far. :(
Additionally, where will the product be coming from to have these events run? As a retailer I would be very upset that other Venues would have an opportunity to sell product two weeks before I would. We definitely need more info on how exactly this will all work!
Yeah, I contacted my venue about it and they weren't sure where to sign up either. :(

I have an event already planned for that weekend...if my venue doesn;t get signed up, I may have to cancel that one and go to one somewhere else...

Hello All,
Chiming in for the Chicago area here!!!
Pastimes will be running a Pre-Release for Ultimates in Chicago!!!!
The event will be on June 19th and more details will be coming shortly.
Also, here is what I know about this event so far:
There will be about 30 places in the country that will be holding this event - geographically spread out so you (hopefully) won't have to drive too far to get to one. The cool thing is that because there are fewer, you will get to see a lot more players at one place and play with people you seldom get to see.

If Wizkids handles this like they handled the Dark Riders Pre-Release, Venues don't sign up- Wizkids contacts them. The Venue and Wizkids need to agree an some terms (which includes buying boosters that can be _only_ be used for the Pre-Release and not sold).
If I remember correctly*, Wizkids contacted 30 venues for the Dark Riders prelease, only like 20 responded back in the time frame and 5 of those never jumped through the right hoops, so we ended up with 15 or so venues running the event.
(*I would check, but as I am at work now and my companys darned filter defines Wizkids as entertainment, they block it. Good thing HCRealms isn't blocked...yet.)

I would think with 14 to 20 players a week Valhalla's Gate in Columbia, MO would have a good chance for the Pre-Release....We shall see I guess...

Hey, any body else realize this event is on Fathers day weekend?
Seems there will be a trouphy of some sort for the winner of these
pre-release tournaments... and a limited number of players are allowed,
so sign up early if your venue is choosen.

Hello Again All,

Also, here is some buzz....
1. No trophy, but Boosters of Ultimates will be the prizes (that's what you want when you get there anyway, isn't it?)
2. Since it is Father's Day weekend, many of the venues are just running the event on Saturday. There is a lot of product being sent to the Pre-Release sites, but there is a limit. Check with the venue to see if they are taking pre-registration. (I know we are starting on Thursday to take pre-reg for Chicago)
3. Are you an envoy near one of the locations? Some of the locations are still looking for help with the events as we expect these to be great events with a great showing of people. If you want to get involved - e-mail the venue or your contact at WizKids and let them know you are interested!!! (Hey, I need some help down in St. Louis and in Indianapolis - who wants to help??)
4. GET TO THE PRE-RELEASE!! CALL YOUR FRIENDS, YOUR ENEMIES - ANYONE WHO LIKES HC!!! Seriously, big events are fun and we want WizKids to see that they should continue to support more and more cool big events. So, if you want to see other cool big events - GO TO THE PRE-RELEASE!!!!
