Marvel Cosmic Tournament (unrestricted, open, special rules)

Here are the details concerning this tournament. The location:
Watchtower Comics
4843 N. Western Ave
Chicago, IL 60625

The date: Sunday June 20

The time: registration starts at Noon, Tournament starts at 1PM.

The prizes: First place is Galactus, other prizes will include but not be limited to: boosters (perhaps ultimates), and level 6 /level 4 LEs. The number and amount of prizes will be dependent upon the number of participants. Prizes will be awarded minimally to first through third place, and first and second place for fellowship.

The Rules: you must build a 500 point team (up to but not greater than 500) of only Marvel figures. All Marvel figures are allowed except figures from the Ultimates set, the Sentinel, or promotional spiderman. No figures may be duplicated for this event (that means only one spiderman of any type, or you may select either a single paramedic or Jane Foster-not both). You must include within your team one and only one figure from this selection: a Herald of Galactus, a cosmic LE (LE Silver Surfer or Invisible Girl with the team cosmic ability), or a Unique from the Critical Mass set. These figures will be worth double points if KO'd. Finally, you may play with only one Limited Edition figure on your team.

The cost of the event will depend upon the number of participants: the minimum cost will be $15 (if there are at least 20 players) and the maximum potential cost will be only $25. I would expect that the minimial cost target will be hit.

The store has the Galactus in hand, brought back from Wizard World East.

Question asked:on 06/01/2004 12:05:

Question: When you say:

"You must include within your team one and only one figure from this selection: a Herald of Galactus, a cosmic LE (LE Silver Surfer or Invisible Girl with the team cosmic ability), or a Unique from the Critical Mass set. These figures will be worth double points if KO'd."

I assume you mean that all teams MUST include one figure from this list, no more and no less. Is that correct?

Answer: Yes, you are correct. And if you pick an LE, it counts as your only LE as well.

Please feel free to ask any other questions you might have, Greg.

There has been one slight modification to the build rulings. Although figures from the new, standard ultimates (R,E,V,U)set are not allowed, we will allow LEs that have been won in tournaments this month. This should not prove unbalancing for the tournament.
