Hola

I would really appreciate it if you guys could give me some feedback on some of my work. There's a little bit of everything including some custom clix and non-comic related work, so just check it out and let me know what you think.

Man, Tim, you have some really cool stuff going on. I love the seeds1 drawing. Nice pencils and excellent detail. What's the majority of your stuff done on? Canvas, sketch pad, etc.? All in all, good stuff. keep it up. Draw everyday.

I agree with Justin, very cool stuff. Seeds1 and flight show excellent detail. I'm an artist as well and one of my big things is detail...I drive myself crazy putting in details on certain drawings but I love it at the same time. heh heh

It's cool to see another artist around and thanks for sharing your stuff with us! I'm currently working on setting up my own website to eventually house my own weekly comic. Time is the hardest thing since I work long hours. But hopefully I'll join the ranks of yourself and Justin and post here as well! lol

Keep up the great work guys! :)

Thanks for the kind words guys. Most of my stuff is just pencil or charcoal on paper or bristol board. Oh, I checked out your comic Justin3000 and it cracked me up. Great stuff, it's always nice to know someone else has a twisted sense of humor too.

Thanks Tim. I appreciate it. Hey, any chance we can see some sequentials from you anytime soon?

I've got some things I'm working on right now, but some sequential stuff is definitely in the works.

Good stuff. I've seen a lot of stuff done in comics that isn't that good.

You seem to have gotten a lot of compliments so far, so if i add mine to the list they would just be redundant. Instead i'll stick strictly to constructive criticism. Get a copy of Gray's anatomy or hogarth's dynamic figure drawing and work on the underlying structure of the human forms more, they are recognizable, certainly but they could be better. the proportions are correct in most of your images but the body twist makes the interplay of forms look too flat. Try to go for some more dynamic poses, and work with the negative space around them as well.

The use of space within the images is too cookie-cutter. you have figures in the foreground cut off by the picture plane edges, compositions centering around the middle of the image area, and a lot of the pictures are balanced too much to one side instead of drawing the eye around nicely. I'd recommend taking a look at some of Alphonse Mucha's art nouveau advertistment art if you want to make the central compositions a little tighter, and look at more Escher stuff to keep the eye moving around a balanced image better.

Your light to dark contrast is top notch in all the pictures, the forms are defined easily by them, but you are using too harsh a lighting too often, if you keep it up for too long then all of your pictures will end up looking the same.

Check out www.weirdart.com for some art that is similar to yours... i think you'd like it.

hope i helped,
~Silk
