Hey guys!

I'm trying to break into the comic biz, and would like to take someone with me!

No, really, I'm writing a comic script, and as hard as it is for anyone to break into comics, its most difficult for a writer without an artist.
I've got several issues of a script written, and am looking for someone to draw it.

This will be a collaborative effort! Sorry, but as a budding writer, I can't affort hundred dollar page rates and $40 an hour artists. If I could, I'd just hire someone already in the biz!
I'm specifically looking for someone who is would like to get into comics and will work with me to put out this book.

Also, for my immediate plans, Dark Horse is having a contest to look for new blood. They are looking for Writer/Artist teams with a portion of an original comic completed.

If anyone is interested, please PM me.

Thanks!

PS, for style, I'm looking for a clean style. No anime, or anything cartoony. I've got nothing against those styles, really, they just wouldn't fit the theme of the book, which is sorta crime/mission impossible.

You're in the wrong forum. Try the User Artwork and Comics Forum for a post of this kind.

Have you been to the Digital Webbing site? There are listings there for writers, artists, colorists, etc. as well as message boards. You'll likely get more responses from that site that you will here.

I thought I'd see what kind of response I get here first. Since I know people here, and people know me.

Azs:

I would love to do this with you but my artistic pencilling style is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay rusty.

BUT-- Word of advice:

Don't tell anyone about your stories until you get them copyrighted. I learned this lesson years ago when a female writer friend of mine took one of my ideas I was working on for a novel and used it in one of her stories that she got published.

She never asked me for permission or apologized.

Thanks Ro, they're copywrited, but I'm still keeping it a little clsoe to the vest so there's no risk. Not that I think anyone is running around stealing the ideas of a nobody, but its probably a good idea not to post the entire idea to a permanent and public forum.

:)
