Sorry, just happy that the Lakers lost and a great team like Detroit won. Not much of a Laker's fan in case you couldn't tell. I think it's pretty funny how all the analysts and things said that LA would sweep the series and LA never even bothered to show up for it. Let this show you guys that even an underdogged team of Thugs can take down a KC Supes/Nightcrawler team if the rolls and strategy are right.

Weird... I had the exact same prediction. However, I'm so glad I was wrong.

Lakers ####!

I was so tired of seeing the lakers win with the no skills big brute shaq. My only disappointment is that I didn't get to see Kobe & Fisher crying like little girls like they did last year when the spurs spanked them.

Way to go Detroit Pistons. They were COMPLETELY DOMINANT, and really deserved to win over anyone. No unselfish guys on that squad; a true TEAM in every sense.

I hope this ends the Jordan-Kobe comparisons.......MJ never got hammered like that in the Finals & he never lost in the Finals either & he didn't have a "shaq" to play with.

They made Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Bill Laimbeer, James "Buddha" Edwards, Worm Rodman (pre-psycho), Mark Aguirre, Rick Mahorn, Vinnie "Microwave" Johnson, John "Spider" Salley and the gang proud.

The Bad Boys were the last team I liked when I followed basketball. The Chicago Bulls killed any interest I had in the sport. That and getting a life. But I'm glad to see the Pistons returning to the fore, beating the Lakers like they did back in 89.

There are no riots in Detroit now, we celebrate the sports wins peaceably now. Its on the normal days you have to watch yourself.

GO PISTONS! As a native detroiter who used to work at the palace I would like to say, that the team deserved to win, and the lakers deserve to be taken apart and re-built, they didn't want to play a team game, so get rid of them. I loved seeing Phil Jackson lose, he is not as great a coach as everyone thinks he is, he never built a team or trained rookies, he just guided what was already made while in the lotus position.

Pistons deserved it.

Here here!!! About time someone said it. MJ was the greatest to ever play the game. Chamberlain was impressive, but back then, he just was physically bigger/stronger/more powerful than your average NBA player. It would be like me playing against 10 year olds. MJ wasn't the biggest, or the most powerful. He was a player who re-invented himself over the years for as long as his body allowed him to.

MJ also never got charged with sexual assault. Whether or not Kobe will be found guilty, its affected his game. He won't be the same ever again. If he goes to jail, that will cement the comparison game for years to come, "If Kobe Bryant was still able to play the game of basketball, we possibly would of seen all of Jordan's records go away." Uh huh. Right.

Anyways, I'm glad to see Detroit destroy the Lakers. I can't wait to listen to some commentary today, on how if team XXXX had gone instead of the Lakers, Detroit would of lost. That philosophy always cracks me up.

everything in this qutoe is right on except for the Shaq comment, he is in fact tremendously talented.

PISTONS KICK AZS

(i am a die hard t-wolf fan and even I know that they more than likely would have lost the series if they were init.)

WOOHOO! Congratulations Pistons and Pistons fans everywhere!

There's no better team in the NBA. Great to see the Pistons put an end to all of the Laker hype and hand Phil his first loss in the finals.

I'm happy for Rasheed Wallace and the Pistons.. As a Trailblazer fan, I'm glad to see the Lakers get spanked and Rasheed get a ring!

Good Job Pistons!

Pistons had to do something. Given the violent collapse of the Wings, some kind of sports karma rebalancing had to go on. I mean, jeez, has a President's Trophy winner ever gotten spanked that early and decisively in the playoffs?

Did anyone notice after the game, when they zoomed to the prior Pistons banner, you could clearly see that banner and the Joe Dumars banner next to it, but the Isiah Banner next to the Dumars banner seemed purposely semi-hidden so that you could not see it clearly??? Was this done intentionally?? Cuz there seems to be no way that a banner could be folded up like it was when they showed the other banners.

I heard gun shots last night and I live clear on the other side of the state. I feel bad for Manchine any one heard from him today.

@mdr55. Yeah, I saw that. I think it was just that someone threw something up and made the banner fold. Why would they hide Isaih's banner? :knockedou

@ Danny Rand. Shaq is recognized as a dominant force ONLY because he's the strongest/biggest guy at his position. But he has absolutely NO SKILLS when it comes to shooting the ball. All he can do is get rebounds, run people over, and dunk the ball. He ocassionally get lucky and makes his little 6 foot jump hook, but that's it.

@ Lakers Fans.
WHERE YOU AT LAKER FAN?!? LET'S HERE YOU COME OUT AND CONGRATULATE THE TEAM THAT SPANKED YOU LIKE YOU WERE LITTLE GIRLS!! ;)

Look at the progression of shaq... given yes he is a horrendous free throw shooter, fine. He has developed a nice drop step, baby left, baby right, and step through. His size should not be viewed as a negative. His size is only is a part of his whole, not the sum.

I am not a shaq booster believe me, (KG IS THE BEST PLAYER ON THE PLANET), but I know hoops, and waq-fu is not just a giant in the paint, he is a highly skilled giant in the paint.

Sure, how about the year we won 62 games and got ushered out by Colorado?

How about that year we were #1 out west and got ousted by the Sharks in 7 in the FIRST ROUND?

Man, those memories are painful, especially the Wing's collapse earlier this year (Flames deserved all the credit and the ride to the Finals' game 7, though), so I'm really glad we've got another NBA Champions in the Pistons after a 14 year wait.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PISTONS!

Let me say this, as a Californian: To hell with the Lakers!

That bunch of cry-baby ball hogs should be ashamed for being on the same court.

I would spell out the anagram for how I feel about a certain "player" on the Lakers, but I don't think *.Y.K.B. is gonna work!
