I am sure that more than a few people are going to put Big Blue on this base, instead of the magical hippie.

Because we get the designer's notes. I wish they still had those for all the figures in the figure galleries.

Thor is just ugly. 5 damage for 4 clicks, wading through Impervious or Invulnerability all the while, and then he goes back up to 5 again for his last two clicks, and all this for under 200.

Man, I'm gonna hate this guy even more than I hate the Surfer.

Striker Mcbain
06/23/2004, 21:48
Anyone who would use Surfer over Thor must not know what they're doing. Or they don't have Thor. I pulled him at the pre-release and I have to say he is probably the best big hitter for the points I've ever seen. His constant huge damage and long defense makes him a continuing threat. Throw in the Ultimates TA and he is just sick. I've played both figures a lot and Surfer doesn't even compare. Personally I'm not that impressed with Surfer, Captain Marvel is better all around IMO. Now Thor just rules the map.

He's good? Nooooooooooooo.......

Can you explain why the CT Thor costs more now? :noid:

Where is my DARKHAWK preview! I need one of him..... Then I'll be happy...... Be even happier if i had other New Warriors i could place with him.....I wonder if we could get 6 New Warriors on a team of 200 points.....Example Night Thrasher would be a thug with leadership....that's like 20 points....Speedball well it can clock in about 30 points or so....Nova would be in the 50 range....ahhhhhh i'm just bored.

8 clicks of Super Strength.

They took the points from that and put them instead into almost pure stats. The result is, well, ugly.

Yeah, I know. I'm just being my sarcastic self. How a piece can be infinetly more playable like this boggles the mind.

All I can say is he's my favorite cartoon gladiator and now he is the best figure in this new set. Yes, he is the best in this set, hands down. I mean come on the first figure with running shot and can do 5 clicks of damage in one turn. Have a rookie Black Panther next to him and you have a two man deathstar.

06/23/2004, 23:00
Ultimate Thor rocks!!! This is what a mostly non-powered dial should look like!!

Man, if I had a Surfer, I would put Surfer on Ultimate Thor's base.

I have a surfer and if and when i pull thor he is going on the dial even tho thor is the best comic hero EVERRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Now, I'm not usually one to laugh at Star Wars cracks, but this was more funny than I know what to do with!...

3rd click of Running Shot (big factor), 8 clicks of Super Strength, higher Defense (makes costly defensive powers even more costly).

the itsy bit
06/24/2004, 05:39
well..

6 clicks of 5 damage is WAY better then 8 clicks of superstrenght, and I LIKE superstrenght as a power.

higher defence?
Imperviousness has always lowered the defence by 2...

3rd click of RS, well ok but nowhere near the points...

Ultimates TA is aboot 100 times better then Avengers TA (which you do NOT even use with RS).

the itsy bit
06/24/2004, 05:41
Oh and I prefer that 5 damage with 2 targets as well...

taking 2 figs out at once beats clobbering 1 fig !

Great fig for a sealed game, and fits well in a titans format (100 points or more each fig).

Naturally, he is nothing but a big 144pt target for a constructed tourney.....but you knew that didn't you?

Thor is awesome, I had brought my friend to Origins to get a second Galactus and three more boosters of Ultimates. My pulls were awesome, out of the 6 boosters i got three uniques, Carnage, Pheonix and Thor!! I also got Veterans of Captain America, Ghost Rider, Storm, and beast, and some others.

Whatever. Again, I welcome ALL posters to HCRealms! ravenzero637, you are hereby joined by yours, truly in IGNORING those that bash on others who don't type well!

To any others who would do the same, I say:

Everyone deserves a chance to improve. It might be hard to read some people's posts, but do NOT insult them; there are other ways to say such things. Some members are very young and are learning. Some are not able to spell or read very well (and to those of you who have this trouble, I specifically say THANK YOU FOR JOINING THIS SITE! I am glad that there is something here that makes you take interest, and hope that reading and writing here will help). Perhaps English is not the poster's first language. And there are literally a couple dozen other reasons for difficult-to-read posts.

As I said, everyone deserves a chance to improve, and I am sick of the insults, no matter how "insignificant" they seem to those making them. I have invited a couple of people onto the 'Realms and I REFUSE to let anyone push them away by the snide remarks. It may not mean much to you, but whemn someone has trouble spelling, even the small insults make them want to leave for good.

Again, ravenzero673, I hope that you are still aroud, and I hope that you STAY.
