Does this mean we'll get an expansion set to Indy because of this?

Is there a next set?I heard that the sales were so bad that they wouldn't do another set without Image, and that McFarlane refused.

Was Marvel or DC even in that vote? I didn't see it. If they was then all congrats to Indy. Someone please let me know if Marvel or DC was in the vote.

I bought 2 indy boosters near here recently--the guy said I could have 2 for the price of one becasue he can't sell them.
marvel and DC sold--Indy didn't.
I opened both packs right there--and didn't get anyone good. The owner said "grab another pack on me--hopefully you'll get someone good." I didn't. So he let me have 2 more boosters!!
5 for the price of one! I finally got a Judge Dredd...
Umm. Anyway--I thought it was a fun set, too.
Shame there won't be more.
I really wanted The Flaming Carrot with a bunch of Perplex, 2 clicks of damage, 6 range, and that's it. Maybe with Leap/Climb on his Super-Pogostick.

I wonder if my 200+ votes had anything to do with that.
I am kind of puzzled how Indy won also... NO ONE except for me even has Indy that I play with... I don't even use the figures in game play, I only collected them... Stores in my area were selling Indy starters for $5 and booster for $2 just to get rid of them, of course I have alot of extra Indy maps now:)
I thought I even heard Creepy freaks won an award a while back and that's another game atleast in my area that died along with Crimson Skies & Mage knight... I bought a case of Creepy Freaks off ebay for $25 including shipping just so I could get the complete set... Stores online are selling Indy sets complete with Uniques for $99...

Glad to here it.
Too bad the die hards didn't give it a chance. They just couldn't get past their bias .
Some of the staples on my teams are from the Indy set-
IT's a good set and deserves an expansion before it's buried. But I have little faith that we will get one. I just hope WK releases the remainder of the LE's that were supposed to be part of the set. :ermm:

Indy has seen alot of use at my venue due to how I hold the tourneys...
.. one of the house rules is that most tournies are Open Universe, but you have to choose one or the other, Marvel or DC/Indy... I threw Indy in with DC since DC had less sets
Due to recent publishing events, Kabuki is now playable with Marvel (Kabuki is being published thru Marvel under the creator-owned Marvel Icon line)
which sold a few more Indy boosters for me, with the die hard Marvel players wanting Kabuki agents to team with their Doom and Spidey lol
I hope with Indy winning, that we get a chance at a second set... with Crossgen going bankrupt, drop them from future sets, and work on trying to get a couple more of the Image guys (Erik Larsen and Rob Liefeld could hold sets by themselves.... yah Liefeld sucks, and none of his creations are even remotely original, but Clix-wise they are some good characters)... plus get Top Cow to finish making the rest of Cyberforce :devious:
just my 2 cents

Not to mention Natalia, Bron, Rasputin, Nemesis, Judge Fire, Samandahl Rey, Hecate... that people's area retailer over-ordered is their problem; Indy's a solid set, surpassed in quality and playability only by DC Unleashed in my book.

DC and Marvel weren't nominated as they weren't new last year.
Indy was.
indy has one of the best pieces in the game: Lobster Johnson. Even though I don't know who he is, i don't care!
i did my part in helping get the ballot box stuffed....
time for wk to do their part and make us a decent indy expansion.

Indy!?
Hmmmm...I guess even the ####piest Heroclix series is amazing by general game standards.
WELL, at least this result means that there should (hooray !) be another Indy expansion...
It would be great to get the Turtles, the DNAgents, Noman and the rest of the THUNDERAgents, some more 2000AD (Chopper ? Ro-Jaws ? Hammerstein ?), and some more wonderful Kabuki.
And (gasp) would the Authority count as Indy ?
Just as long as they don't do (bleugh) Spawn...

J.G., you'll love this piece even more if you read the Hellboy comics he's appeared in. He has this weird combination of cornball goofy and zen-like ultra-cool that I've never seen on any other comic character.
And then, surprise of all surprises, he actually turned out to be an EXTREMELY playable piece in Heroclix. I know I'm not the only one who thinks "world's finest" means the Lobster Johnson/ R Steel team-up.
I, too wish that this award translated into something marketable for Wizkids. It's too bad these awards don't work like the Oscars, in which winners receive box-office and DVD purchase boosts. If Indy was boosted enough, WK might've been able to squeak in another set. I was hoping for Astro City or ABC characters. Oh well. Hats off to Wizkids, though, not only for the award, but for even having the organization and the guts to try the experiment that was IndyClix.

Indy clix has some of the best pieces in the game. Really priced to fir on any team. As to why it seems that Indy is sitting on the shelves...people ar e abit unfamiliar with the characters and some retailers over-ordered.
Congrats to Wiz Kids!!!
I hope we see an Indy expansion soon.

I suppose sales figures were not a factor . . .
Indy deserved to win... BEST set to date.
Indy got me reading Kabuki and especially Hellboy! I was already a Judge Dredd fan...
in a draft/sealed environment, Indy absolutely has no equal - *all* models are extremely playable, and deadly... a bad booster pull in Indy doesnt guarantee you a painful defeat...
whenever we do open sealeds or drafts, I always make mine 3 Indy... it's even more fun when it's a draft:
me to player with 3 marvel boosters beside me: 'hey, do you collect Indy?'
marvel zombie: 'no! Indy sucks! why?'
me: 'Cause you do now.' (passes Marvel zombie 3 Indy figures from the booster)

Indy Clix needs fliers and such though...that's what the second expansion needs
Get Flash Gordon in there and such and just load the boosters with hawkmen
and they need Wildstorm things like Planetary and Sandman. There's your power couplings

I love Indy.
Began to play Heroclix with it.
My Indy team is always the surprise in Open Tournaments and friendly games.
Jejeje in fact, my V. Shi and V. Lobster Jhonson with a little help from E. Abbey Chase, took out Kingdom Come Superman!!!.
Just the look in the face of my opponent did it worthwhile.
WIZKIDS, GIVE US INDY 2!!!!!!
You have got to be kidding me.

Whoo hoo. Now stores can justify the half off sales to recoup the loss they suffered on the dust collectors known as Indy Clix.
Proves beyond a shadow of a doubt now that the Origin awards mean nothing.
Still, good to see WK getting good press for a change.

hurm... I have heard conflicting reports of Indy's supposed 'badness' sales-wise... none of this first hand, but apparantly some Wizkids sales reps have said that Indy sold above their expectations...
I do see Indy languishing on store shelves - which means the end user isnt picking up many (but, ironically, our local venues sell more Indy than the other sets - mostly becuase in sealeds and drafts my group chooses Indy over other sets) - but by the time the vendor has purchased Indy, Wizkids has already made their money...
I soooooo desparately want an Indy expansion... I will even go on the record to say I will buy a case of an Indy expansion... I don't even buy boosters (other than for marquees) anymore - only singles... but, definitely, a case of the Indy expansion when it's released...

Unfortunately those would most likely have to come via a DC set, as both are currently DC property. But as a side note, I would love to see a few Vertigo people show up as Uniques sometime down the road. ;) The Wildstorm figures go without saying of course.

Well, I'm guessing indy was eligible for 'Game of the Year' sort of on a technicality-it had a starter kit with rules. Now, to be sure the rules were tweaked significantly, but really, this is a victory for the HeroClix line. I'd hate to see any HCRealmers passing out because they held their breathe waiting for another Indy set.....

Well, the only people who have 'actual' data is Wiz Kids, and they ain't telling.
However, I present these facts:
My local stores were not allocated on Indyclix. They recieved their entire order in their initial shipment. This has never happened before or since with a heroclix set.
The stores did not sell them very fast and dropped the price -very- quickly.
Once they finally sold out, only one of the stores has re-ordered the product, though it is clearly still available.
Thus, IndyClix, in Champaign-Urbana, IL did not sell as well as any Marvel and DC set. I don't know how I can make it clearer than that.
But, I'm sure that won't be good enough for you, because I am obviously a 'hater' who just likes to poke small children's ballons with pins....

From what I have been told....indy sold about half as well as DC, which is still 1.5 times better than Mage Knight. So, while it was not a huge success, there were no "Creepy Freaks" like losses on it.
That being said, I hope they do release another, more diverse, set for Indy.

I don't think that anyone on the planet would dispute that. It isn't the issue. If anybody even suggested otherwise, they'd be a laughingstock.
But no, it isn't good enough. Spiderhulk suggests that the last set sold so badly that no number of awards can make up for it. I specified that regional, anecdotal evidence is no good for providing "proof" that it sold badly, because any anecdote one provides can be countered by another, often in the same city. There are shops in Atlanta who over-ordered and are stuck with unsellable starters, there are shops where it was ordered lower than DC but not low enough to keep it moving, there are shops where it sold quite briskly. I know at least one area store was allocated; they had to sell starters at reduced price so we could play the marquee.
My favorite venue's owner said it best: He sold more CASES of Indy than he sold BOOSTERS of CreepyFreaks.
Based on that anecdote, we can safely conclude that IndyClix was a mammoth hit.
Except that people who make conclusions based on anecdotes are pretty foolish.

some of the best games have been dogs sales wise.
I liked Indy alot too. And I am a Marvel and DC fan. Alot of the characters are really playable. People I play against hate Lobster Johnson and Johny Alpha because they do so good. Some really good sculpts too. The set actually got me interested in Hellboy. I hope they make another set. I am a Marvel fan but I would like to see more DC and another Indy set.

Now I have proof to give my players why they should be buying and playing Indy!
I'm just thrilled that this set has been awarded the acclaim it so richly deserves, and confirms what the buying public has long known -- that Indy IS the definitive HeroClix set.
I mean, who needs flyers and range when you can have Stealth and BCF?!? Who needs the quick-playing dynamics of those other, shall we say, less than perfect sets, when we can spend turn after turn meticulously moving our figures across the map? Kids need to learn patience, after all, and no HC set teaches that better than Indy!
And how about that fantastic global marketing strategy by WizKids? Make the game even more exiting and fun to collect by releasing separate groups of figures on either side of the big pond! Wow! I tell ya, there's nothing like paying $10 for a Rookie Wulf Sternhammer -- I wouldn't do it any other way!
I just want to say "thanks WK, for enriching the HeroClix world with this one-of-a-kind set." Where would we be without Tomoe Gozan, Scarab, or, of course Princess Ashley?! (my daughter says "Nowhere, Daddy!")
I say Rock On, Indy Clix! I'm about to wet myself waiting for the next exciting installment!! Kudos for a job well done!

I think their are actually laws under the geneva convention that forbid sarcasm of the levels of the last post their by kurtwagner (he must still be in a bad mood after `the draco').
Anywho, Im constantly shocked by the amount of heroclix players who haven't heard of many DC & Marvel characters let alone know who indy characters are, so ive never understood why the characters so called obscureness had an effect on the sets popularity anyway. I mean, the figs are very playable (ill admit their playablity goes up when you alow universe mixing, to increase the mobility a bit though. But heck, we play open universe all the time friendly and the like) + I actually did know who most of the characters were!
Bring on an expansion! (I want the rest of the noh darn it)
