Zombie Game: Dead Day of Summer - July 29th 2012 Zombie Basics
Posted 07/12/2012 at 21:44 by DeGei
At the beginning of the Zombie Turn several things happen:
Each infected character has a d6 rolled for it, on a 1 or 2 it is dealt one unavoidable damage.
The Zombie Master rolls 1d8, 1d20, and Nd6 (where N is the number of active players divided by 2 and rounded down).
The d8 is the Basic Zombie Movement speed for that round. The d20 is the Possible Event Die and the d6's are the number of basic zombies being added to the board this round.
All Zombies have the following Team Ability and Trait
Unrelenting Horde (Team Ability): This Character has the Monster Keyword and no others. Ignore all powers and non-zombie traits on this character's dial. This character ignores debris Tokens and printed hindering terrain when moving. This Character may not be Mind Controlled or use Ranged Combat attacks. When hit with an Incapacitate Attack a zombie and all adjacent zombies that would also be hit by the attack roll may not act in anyway on the following zombie turn. Any character hit by a zombie becomes infected. When an infected character would be KO'd, instead turn it to it's starting click and it becomes a Basic Zombie at the start of the Zombie turn.
Mindless Masses (Trait): All Basic Zombies share a movement value and are not given action tokens normally. At the beginning of the zombie turn any opposing character based by one or more zombies has one attack roll made against it and is compared to all adjacent Basic Zombies. The character is dealt one damage for each successful hit. The damage may not be reduced below one. After all zombies not basing an opposing character or were not part of an attack move upto the maximum Basic Zombie movement.
Basic Zombies will (again) be Horrorclix. They may not be started on their starting click and may be KO'd at the Zombie Master's Discretion.
Mega Zombies: When a 3,8,13,or18 is rolled on the event die one basic zombie is replaced with a Mega Zombie. Mega Zombies follow Basic Zombie rules but have the following trait:
Death Rage (Trait): Adjacent opposing characters modify their defenses by -2, if not already modified by this effect. Mega Zombies deal 2 damage instead one when they successfully hit a character and ignore Shape Change. Instead of moving a Mega Zombie may destroy an adjacent square of blocking terrain or wall.
Mega Zombies will use their full dials (expect longer dials for them *hint hint*)
Marvel Zombies: When a 20 is rolled on the event die one basic zombie is replaced with a Marvel Zombie. Marvel zombies act as a normal character would, but cause infection with close combat attacks.
There will be a few more events on the die with the remaining numbers being "blanks."
Several other surprises will be in-store as well.
The winner will not be determined solely by most characters left or most zombies killed (but both will be worth something).
