Playing games with my wife

So last night, while watching the Olympics, I decided I should get some practice games in for Month 8 IG. Well, my wife is what i like to call a closet nerd, and will never admit to liking anything geek related. So, I had to coax her subconsciously into playing at game.

I asked her if we were doing anything this week (I already knew the answer), and she replied just as expected. "No, just wanted to watch the Summer Olympics." So i gave her a quiet nod, and went back to my ipod, I had set the bait, so all there was to do was wait, and without a disappointment she took it. "Why?" she asked. I responded by telling her I that since we weren’t doing anything I was going to spend a few hours each day this weekend at our local Comic book store and practice since she doesn't play.

Now you have to understand my wife. She's a former semi-pro soccer player from Australia, who would've most likely gone pro if it weren't for a knee injury. Her brother plays for the New Zealand Knights, and her cousin Plays for the Aussie Rugby team The Wallabies, so needless to say I married into a jock family, and anything remotely nerd is usually in the closet.
Getting back to the more recent present, she looked at the TV then me, and then said what I wanted to hear. “Well, there are no big events coming up, so I can play if you want?” I looked at her and gave a shocked look and said, well if you want to. She nodded, and in a flash I ran upstairs like a kid at Christmas to grab all my clix and supplies. I set up two of the teams I was thinking of using.
For myself I had A.I.Marine Hulk, Icehulk, Hulkclops, and Mighty Thorr totaling at 497pts, and for my wife I gave her a swarm team consisting of; Ant-man (cw-015) Black widow (CA-006) Capt. America (CW-203) Ms. Marvel (CW-023) Wolverine (CW-029) and Egghead (CW-004) totaling at 500pts.
I gave my wife a brief down on how to play, and helped her along the way. Using Ms. Marvel holding a heavy object, and her second turn pummeled Marine hulk in one hit. My jaw dropped. Later on in the game using Eggheads outwit, Black widows running shot, and ant-man’s tiny ability, she was able to take out mighty thorr. I did take out her Ms. Marvel by this time, but it was crazy at what was happening.
By the end of the game she had nearly taken out Hulkclops, and destroyed two of my beastly clix, but I had taken out all her characters. This was an amazing game in my eyes. Either I had created two power clashing teams, or I really needed to question my hulk team, or even is my wife in all her deniability, a beast at heroclix? I guess the future will only tell.
