New Players! This is where you should be. These are some of the typical questions we get from interested realmers about joining our little group.......

1) So what exactly is this RPSC thing anyway?

Well it's a cross between heroclix and role-playing. RPSC stands for Role Playing Scenario Campaign. The basics are you start with a team of heroes play though games and challenges and earn experience to improve your characters and increase your team size. Now all of this happens within the Universe it's set in. There is a story line going on and that's where your games come from. The editors make up the stories and you play out the games. Additionally if you were so inclined you can have a greater roll in the stories for your team if you are so inclined. If you're really just interested in the playing part the RPSC probably isn't for you(creation matrix has some leagues that might interest you as well as at least one other group on HCR)...........we're more interested in players who are interested in both the heroclix and role-playing aspects of the system.

2) Sounds interesting...........how would I go about starting?

To start new players off we have all players start with a 3-4 month trial period. During this time you only play as opponents for other players. Additionally this slowly introduces you to some of the more specific RPCS rules(as say opposed to regular Heroclix) while also showing the editors and players that you can keep up with the time constraints/commitment that being in the RPSC requires.

3) 3-4 months!?! Any way I can get that cut down for good behavior or something?

No, we've found that 3-4 months seems to (for the most part) show who's going to stick with us and those who only have a passing interest in the RPSC. If it makes you feel any better most of us had to go through that much time............some of us even longer. Plus it also gives players who are unfamiliar with on-line play time to become familiar with on-line play.

4) Fine, fine, so what kind of time constraints are we talking about here?

Each game has roughly 25 days to finish. Each game is 15 turns (for each player, of course). We like to have players posting at least every other day to keep pace........but hey, we understand, stuff happens sometimes. Some players post more often than that, but we only ask that you are able to finish 15 turns in about 25 days.

5) Sounds good to me, I want to play <insert team name>, they're my favorite. Can I play them?

Well that really depends on what team you put in the '<insert team name>' spot, doesn't it? Basically we keep track of our team rosters here, it's typically updated every 3 months so it's close enough to give you an idea of what might be available. Take a look and then talk to some of the Editors to see what else is in the works(other teams getting ready to start and such). Odds are we might not be able to get you the exact team you want but the editors can help you look for a team that might be to your likeing.
