This was the first DC click that I wanted. I was just getting into the game, and was an admitted Marvel Zombie. At that time, I was only going to collect Marvel figures. I was checking out the old WK figure gallery, and I just happened to find this figure. Wowzaaaa !!! This figure here made me start looking at the DC figures, and I discovered that DC (at that time, near the Legacy release) had all these high point, high powered monsters !!!!!! I was hooked. I became obsessed with acquiring this figure, and the DC monsters. He is a power house. It's unfortunate that Range rules the game so much, because this guy is the King of close Combat. Like all KC figures, Damage and Attack values are off the charts. I pick him over his 166 point JSA version from the same set, or any of the Origin versions, simply because he was the first DC figure I fell in love with. One of my top 10 pieces of all time.

Dial : defense values are weak, but all other combat values are high for most of the dial, which is deep. No to mention five consecutive clicks of HSS. Powers are good, though the starting attack/damage ones are incompatible with HSS.
Sculpt : OK
Playability : a little expansive, so he's better in higher build. Incompabilities between HSS and Quake/EW are somewhat frustrating, but it also mean basing him and/or countering his HSS isn't really a solution for your opponent (granted he has decent support). His team abilty can also protect him from a deadly move + attack/meteorite deadly combo.
Comic Accuracy : good enough, as far as I'm concerned.
tough choice... this shazam will mop the floor with black adam, but he's not tournament legal anymore. Black adam should be legal for another year or so. this shazam is also slightly more rare as part of the highly sought after Kingdom Come series.

for me i ran the scenario black adam won do to my luck with rolling dice and they better never make crisis non tournament legal otherwise that would suck my best figs are from crisis
Welcome to the world of miniature gaming, afinley. Everything gets retired eventually. I'd say Crisis has another year, maybe two at most. WizKids has hinted that they will retire Justice League and Avengers as early as this summer last I heard. No worries, though, that's why we have the Golden Age format. Anywho, this figure is really only brutal for 3 clicks, though. After that, he becomes a little soft. I'll take the Vet from Origin and the Unique from Unleashed over this fella any day, activation click or not.
Surreal, I've gone toe to toe with the Origins Vet using this guy and the old timer just mopped the floor with the new kid. I teamed him up with the original KC supes against the crisis Supes and V Origins Marvel and came out on top. Being able to go from the start instead of having an activation click really helps. Just don't forget that the KC TA has saved lives before and can still keep it up.

Other than average attack numbers this guy is awesome. I like the outwit in the middle of the dial.
If they ever remake KC Captain Marvel...and that is what he should be named then I would love to see a pose of him in the air stopping/destroying the nuke from the end of KC...main would that be cool.
If you can't run the full version of Shazam! and Black Adam, he's your only other logical option for Marvel-powered goodness. No activation click, he can be TK'd, and more importantly, the KC TA prevents non-ranged HSS opponents from getting close.
This dial just went to my Unique Unleashed JSA Captain Marvel. With the power creep of today's sets happening, I felt that this dial could be used and be properly balanced on the lower point version, especially with the low attack numbers and top heavy dial. We have not received a solo classic Captain Marvel (DC) since Origins, and I need this mod to satisfy me until we do.
