I agree with the original post. Unofficial previews is one of the reasons why the Units section does not have accurate wording.

I had no idea the orange had jurisdiction over the English language. Good to know.

"officially previewed or released by WizKids"

That adjective "officially" only modifies "previewed". Had the statment been written as "officially previewed or officially released by WizKids" it would have been much different.

The product was officially released by Wizkids to the distributor.

Adjectives? That gets us everywhere.

One could also point out that 'leaked' product is not the same as 'released' product...

'Leaked Product", is that some kind of fetish I should embrace or shun.

I am a bit behind on Rule 34.

In the case of the Hunger Games stuff, the street date was broken by a chain in the US, so WizKids told their other distributors to go ahead and release the product, officially.

In the case of Galactic Guardians, it's apparently specific to a single market, France. Because of that, WK has not bumped up the release in the US, so the product has not been officially released.
Except for the fact that it has been released early. You can currently purchase it from a store in MD and NV. I'm sure we will hear of more, but it has been released in the US ahead of schedule.

Recognizing that the English language is not always presented in the most formal or correct manner is what gets us everywhere. You know what the sign in the grocery store that reads "10 items or less" means. Demanding that it read "10 items or fewer" for the sake of clarity is absurd. I think you know what "officially previewed or released by Wizkids" meant in Harpua's post. Don't be a pedant.
Not removing this line from my signature until we get Killer Moth (12/17/12).
Missing IC Remakes: Whirlwind, Constrictor, Controller, Boomerang, Blizzard, Puppet Master

A couple retailers selling it before release also doesn't change the release date. Again, that's a leak, not a release.

Also, I should let everyone know that the Rules Deputies will not answer any questions on why you've been in so many failed relationships.

I keep asking them, but they keep telling me they can't help me.

I can answer that question:
It is because you play a game that involves miniatures of super-heroes, has incredibly complex rules interactions, and post amazingly juvenile posts just to make yourself feel better (not you, chrisdosmil...)

Pedant - a person who adheres rigidly to book knowledge without regard to common sense.

"Hey People of France, I understand you were happy to buy new Wizkids products and now you're eager to understand and play with those figures. But the rule is you need to be confused until April 11th. That's the rule!"

Hey judges and volunteers. I understand that for the past ten years you've been donating your weekend hours to help foster this game and now you're eager to understand those figures for when your players have questions. But the rule is you need to be confused until April 11th. That's the rule!"

So Owlman, you're absolutely right. "Pedant" is the operative word of this thread.

Providing inventory at the distributor level is not the same as releasing product (i.e. changing its street date in this instance).

So a person who loves someone who adheres rigidly to book knowledge without regard to common sense would be called a Pedantophile?

Yes, but being a pedant is part of the duties/responsibilities of being a rules arb. You have the freedom to avoid that kind of approach.
