It's time once again for a big event in Glen Burnie, MD. Compete for fabulous prizes!

Register for FREE at Clixathon.com. Players that register and attend Clixathon: GG will get a $1.00 discount on their Clixathon 2013 registration.

MAIN EVENT
Start time: Noon
Format: 2 boosters of Galactic Guardians ($25.00), mulligans are available ($12.50 per booster, up to 2 boosters). Swiss rounds until we have 8 or less undefeated players, minimum of 3 rounds.

CHAMPIONSHIP
Start time: 4:00 PM (later if needed)
Format: 400 point constructed, Modern Age, Named Themed Team required.

CUSTOM SHOWDOWN
Start time: 4:00 PM
Format: 500 points Golden Age restricted. At LEAST one figure from your team must be a custom figure. That means you can use any figure from Infinity Challenge on up, but no special objects, feats, BFCs, resources, etc. The only Tactic allowed (see Part 4 of the Rulebook) is standard objects.
OTHER FUN
Battle Royals will be available all day, starting at 2:00 PM.
Battle Royal rules: 4 players will be seated at a table together, each with a booster of product (that may or may not be the same set). Players will open their boosters and draft their teams. Characters with multiple starting lines must be played on a starting line that is under 300 points, if available. Once your teams are drafted, a four-player match takes place (no official team-ups). The winner is the player with the most points. Once the match is over (through defeat or time being called), all drafted figures are repooled, an LE figure is added to the pool, and the players snake-draft figures from the pool, in the order that they finished the match.


Playing in the main event will have everyone walking away with a pair of dice (see my Avatar for the design). Other dice will be awarded as prizes, as usual.

We have a possible new prize for this event, but until we see the mock-up, we won't be able to say more about this.

Players winning the main event, obviously, win their seat in the Championship.

Players in the Championship will be playing for the top 3 spots:
1 - Galactic Guardians Factory Set (the LARGEST factory set I've ever seen)
2 - Captain America Factory Set
3 - A seat in the "Pick a Colossal" prize.

The Custom Showdown will have four prizes being given out. Each prize is a seat in the "Pick a Colossal" prize. Prizes will be awarded:

• Strongest player - the person who wins the event
• Best Team Representation - the team with customs that come right off of the comic page (and you wouldn't hurt your chances if you bring that comic page with you)
• Best Repaint - the best figure that has no sculpt changes but alterations to the paint job
• Best Original Sculpt - the best figure that looks nothing like any sculpt that has come before. It's okay to use existing HeroClix sculpts and reconfigure them in a unique way or, more impressively, a new sculpt from scratch.

Since "Best Original Sculpt" is the goal we're shooting for here, the winner of that category wins not one, but two seats to the "Pick a Colossal" prize.

Once all the "Pick a Colossal" prizes have been awarded, each seat will roll 2d6 to determine draft order. A set of all 6 Galactic Guardian colossal figures will be available to be drafted from.

UPDATE 7/3 - cleaning up the basement last night, I stumbled across a box with 2011 convention LEs that I had totally forgotten about. I don't know how exactly yet, but these pieces will make their way into prize support as well!!!!!

Chips from 'Clixathon 2012 were great. ATA cards would be great, too!

Looks like I'll have to talk Jill into planning her vacation with the kids (and not me) around this weekend so that I can help and/or play. The Custom event has me intrigued!

This may have been previously touched upon or left ambiguous for specific purposes, but I am curious to know if the Custom Showdown would allow us to bring our own custom designed (dials) for a heroclix figure. It seems to meet the qualifications listed and would be fun using.

GG Factory set is gonna be *heavy*, too! Now what did I do with my Wizkids (TM) wheelbarrow? And do I really want to dump out all my clix points, (original) Avengers and (original) Justice League doubles/triples/quadruples, and never-to-be-used-again dice that rolled more than 1 crit miss in a game?

I don't think it is ambigious. It's a (legal) figure from IC on, with a modified sculpt.

I would love to make it, but I don't know yet. I may be traveling that week...

Custom dials are NOT permitted. I mean, how fair would that be? Here's my custom dial that has the SAME stats as Vet Icons Superman, but for only 12 points!!!!

Hey hey, the event is about a month away and I've got a few things to announce:

1 - I'll be taking some of my swag from Origins and putting it into the prize pool. If we have 20 or more folks, Apocalypse and Dr. Fate will be among the choices for top players in the main event. If we have 40 or more folks, after all the events are over, all players will be eligible for a roll-off with 2 players being able to split a set of Apocalypse/Dr. Fate between them.

2 - A new giveaway! This is being kept secret until the day of the event. I have only seen pics of it so far, but it looks like it'll be pretty cool.

Lastly - a reminder - register at Clixathon.com!!!! The registration is free for this event, and even better, if you pre-register, you will save $1 off your preregistration for Clixathon 2013!

Oh man such a cool idea - custom heroclix tournament. I wish I could make this but live no where near MD. I'd love to bring an AoA X-Men team or finish up a few customs and bring an immortal weapons or g.i.joe team.

I went to Clixathon.com and was already registered is this correct? Or was it from last time. To be honest you can just keep my brother and me registered for all Clixathons that are within a 2 state radius. LOL. Thanx for the great events Norm.
