Convention Horseman
Now I personally have never played any of these pieces and was thinking about picking some up but I dont know how good they are or if they are really worth it? can someone please give me an insight - I normally play 4-500 point games, but was also looking at the 300 point environment. say for example you have 100 points left to spend which of the horseman would you use - including the GSX SRs - and why? Thanks!

I recently played 3 out of 4 of them in a 300 pts. Modern Age Tournament, and they actually held up rather well. They have a lot of synergy working together. I ended up playing with Archangel [the bet SR Horsemen], War and Pestilence.

If you want to attack with War, hold back until everyone else attacks, as he gains the +1 AV for each opposing character that gets damaged from an attack.

Hold off Pestilence, until you can position her to use her Poison ability effectively. She's ideal to deal with tie-up pieces or support pieces, especially with her 18 DV with Invulnerability. Most players won't see her as a big of a threat as, say, Archangel or War, because her damage starts with a 2. But after a click in, she does +1 damage if a figure gets damaged from Poison, and the Poison will eventually chip everyone's health away. Extremely useful, primarily because her Poison is penetrating. And it's something that throws everyone off. It's how I was able to take down a Mastermold, among others.

Archangel can also quite useful as a primary attacker because of his high speed and solid range. Combined with his high AV and Psychic Blast, he's probably the best attacker. You generally want to keep him far away from enemies because of his ESD. But even when he takes a hit, Steal Energy should keep him alive for a while. Don't forget about his trait, where he gains +1 combat values for each figures KO'd by the end of the turn.

I'm not really a huge fan of Famine though. She has her uses, but I feel like she's the least useful of the bunch. If I played a 400 pts. game with all 4 Horsemen, I would use her as bait to lure figures out. Then position War to attack, Pestilence to take advantage of her awesome Poison power, and Archangel to attack as well. They all have decent enough DV and long enough life to handle a good hit or two. Just remember, they all have the Transporter ability, meaning they can all move and attack with a -2 AV. But tack on their ATA, and Archangel now has HSS with 10AV, while everyone else has HSS with 9AV, which isn't terrible.
I run HeroClix tournaments every 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month at The Realm Games and Comics in Brea, California. The format of each tournament will be posted here.

Our Fear Itself prizing for The Realm will include the 2012 Punisher Con LE, Giant-Man Con LE, and Shuma Gorath Con LE.

Pestilence is amazing! The penetrating poison is great. I think war is the best of them all, followed by pestilence, then famine "famine is still great though."

I picked pestilence over all of them due to the fact that you can just sit there and do penetrating poison. But I am looking for the other two...

The new Con Apocalyspe will make them better, always run the ata, but there mainly more of a fun team rather than a serious team. I am sure they would play better with feats. Nice to have if you like the horsemen, but not really competive enough to warrent there price.I think war is the best for the Psy blast.

archangel and wolverine are pretty good, hulk is... take or leave it... if he gets outwitted and pounded, he will still likely be outwitted due to his imperv being like 6 clix deep. really the convention exclusives are the best there is... and the sole purpose I purchased a supremacy league kit... i wasn't gonna shell out $200 for a set of figures when i could get them, the entire board and wonderwoman and moonstone for $120.
Collection Supreme!

The super rare versions are worth it.. But archangel is like at 40 now whereas the other two are between 15-25 dollars...

I love playing them in a 400 point game. the 3 cons and Archangel together with a ata is something to behold. Just take the fight right to the piece you want to get rid of first. I'm glad I paid the cash I did for them.

This is true. I've played my 3 con exclusive horsemen with Archangel SR a few times and between the traits and the ATA, they just DESTROY. They work SO WELL together. They're very cohesive and in the right hands can be even better. The key is to use those traits in a progressive structure where one builds off another and another and so on until you end up with an ultimate weapon at the end.

Last time I played them, I faced an Asgardian team fronted by SR Odin. I didn't lose a figure.

When I finally completed them and used them the first time the only time I lost was fighting AIM with MODAK looking at me and had Archangel not got a crit miss the rest of his team would have been doomed. But thems the breaks
