So I'm really trying to get my hands on one of these guys, and had a couple questions.
This is in the non-Target, non-team pack gravity feed right?
Is he particularly noticable in the booster? Heavier? More solid? Or does he feel exactly like hulk?
I need to shake some boosters tonight and find one
Picking out the destroyer at Toys R Us is super easy.
Feel the package for the size of the plastic box inside. Look through the packs until you find a plastic box that is larger than all the other packages.
The Destroyer will be inside.
Due to his size they had to package him in a larger plastic box.
box...mold...shipping container... whatever you want to call the plastic thing inside the foil pack.
You could probably pick him out in a comic book store through weight, though I'm not sure how he compares to the Hulk in weight. All my heroclix money when to purchasing GG... Now I just have to figure out how to get Cosmic Red Skull, Regular Red Skull, Johann, and about half a dozen Hydra Technicians(Why does the really awesome generic have to be in a team pack?...)
I pulled mine randomly...the LCS I buy from keeps them behind a counter, like they should. I bought 10 blind boosters and Destroyer was in one of them...plus 3 of the other 4 rares and the Red Skull chase.
Stop cherry-picking. It's ####ing dumb. If you want to buy a single figure...go buy it! There's a ton of sites that'll sell it to you. I held off on buying (or even trading for) the Odin and Red Skull chases and I bought them in BLIND boosters. I only traded for Loki because no Targets I went to had the boosters for sale...probably because cherry pickers took them all. I bought 18 BLIND boosters total and pulled 4 Rares and 2 chases, plus some other awesome figures. Be like me. Don't be a jerk.
Phi Gamma Delta - FIJI - Est. 1848.
Proud to be a Phi Gam.
Fact: Destroyer comes in a larger package in the foil display. If you know this, why wouldn't you use it to your advantage if you want Destroyer. Wizkids made him easy to spot, so what? Buying him for $4 at TRU supports Wizkids and retailers more directly than trading or buying him from the secondary market for inflated prices. I don't want this thread to turn into what some others have, I'm just trying to use some reason and logic here. There are different degrees of cherry-picking (defacing/opening packs is never cool), this is a case where it's just too easy to pass up. Remember MODOK in Cap set? Super heavy booster? Wizkids just goofed, or more likely, didn't really care. So why should we?
As someone who buys randomly all the time (and loves it), it's nice to know I can get a figure that sells for $10-15 on some sites for $4 with a little bit of patience. And so can everyone else who puts forth the effort. I know I'm gonna get hate for this post, I hope I don't, I'm not trying to troll, I just don't get when or why trying to narrow down possibilities in your booster became such an evil practice.

I second this. I buy blind boosters for everything, all the time. I have a limited amount of income to spend on a hobby like this (usually to the tune of $20-$40 a month) and I like to max out my gains vs. the amount of money I spend. I buy from my LGS all the time, and he was laughing at me earlier today when I was shaking all of his avengers boosters looking for a heavy one.

Yeah, that's the other thing, the owner at my local store knows the players there sometimes try methods to find a good pack, and he doesn't care. He usually just laughs at us too. I've even see him do the same to open some up to sell at his counter. Sometimes we get good stuff, sometimes we don't. It's a game, we all sink lots into it, so why not bring some levity to the table and just have fun with it. There are exceptions to the rule, but overwhelmingly you still cannot cherry pick most packs. It just so happens these Avengers packs are getting a lot of negative attention because of the ease of finding exactly what you want. Where was the complaining for the Hulk CTD's, which if I recall, weren't even taped?
