1. On his first and third clicks, nobody anywhere on the board can use PC, so even if you hide him in a corner he's ruining days? and
2. On those clicks even your own team cannot use PC, other than this guy himself, so even if you had a theme team with a bunch of PCers, one reroll available? Bit of a double edge there, especially since a theme team of Mystics would tend to be overflowing with PC options.
And with this ability, if you field two Constantines, would they cancel each other out and neither could use PC, or would they each be able to use it since they are each "this character?"

He's unique meaning you can only field one, so I'm assuming you're talking about your opponent fielding him and then both PC abilities would get taken out, similar to Kid Zoom.
I guessing I'm going to be the only one to say I'm disappointed in this click. I wouldn't be however, if it was anyone other than Constantine. He's WAAAY more than just a 59 point piece of support, especially when DC said that Vertigo characters would "maintain their back stories and previous plots they were involved in." Shoot, he's more than that just in Justice League Dark. Everyone keeps comparing him to Kid Zoom, but at least Kid Zoom could defend himself with Super Senses and high movement. All John here has is Mystics TA and the hope that you're playing him on a team with someone with the Batman TA. Oh sure, he has Prob Control, but why bother making your opponent reroll to hit a 16? And Regen on a 4 click piece with no real defensive powers? Good luck seeing/using that. Plus no Justice League "Dark" or Trenchcoat Brigade keyword? Lame. This piece just confirms my earlier belief that while we're all excited to see some unclicked characters make their way into clicks thanks to DC's "New" 52 the truth is their going be so watered down powers wise we might as well all brace ourselves for being let down. In other words, get ready for WILDCats to suck.
If you throw Constantine out there to let enemies make attacks at that 16 defense, then you're playing him wrong.
Keep him in the back, either as PC or Outwit/Perplex. Make your opponent have to over-extend themselves in order to get a crack at him and then follow through with a beatdown from the rest of your team.

wicked awesome! Him and the new Dr Fate are quite the shut down team! lol
Too bad Constantine nerfs Fate's Prob Control and any Prob Controls you might get from a Mystics theme team. Although, Constantine can get an 18 defense from Dr. Fate.
Broken. nothing more to it. were paying 100 points for an outwit and a perplex but only to scientist and the outwit CAN be lack of line of fire (if within 6 squares) and thats our AMAZING support peice... this?! this is 59 points. 60 points. for perplex prob outwit other characters cant prob willpower to keep in position regen wild card and mystical team ability.
broken, hes goign to be used as much as nightcrawler but at least he is manageable. just annoying though

I've been waiting for this figure since the day after Hypertime hit the stands, and I must say, I'm not disappointed at all. "Watered down" seems an unusual thing to say about a character that has been well established as nothing more (or less) than an ordinary human. Constantine is the everyman, albeit one with a deep understanding of the underbelly of the universe. He knows a few tricks. He's a thorn in everyone's side, from the lowliest meter-maid to the devil himself. But at the end of the day, he's a mortal with little more to show for than a sly grin and and a swagger. And, for that, this dial suits him very well.
I'm pumped I guess. I love the dial, though a tad short. I was just hoping for a more 70-90ish point character who would kick more ### ontop of being a pest.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just like I feel that "ordinary human" is an unusual thing to say about Constantine cause like you said, he's a thorn in the side (and for a very good reason) of folks from the bottom to the top ("including the devil himself"). While I'll agree that most of the things he does would be difficult to translate into a clix dial I'm just of the opinion that he could have been given just a little more, not much, just a little more that's character accurate. Like the ability to outwit the Mystics TA or use Exploit Weakness on characters with the mystics keyword. Or maybe one more click so he can be on par with Cosmo, the psionic space dog.
And I don't want folks to think that I'm not ecstatic just to get this piece. I too have been waiting since I started playing this game to get him. And I also understand the "strategy" of having him run off to a corner to hide to keep him safe so the other team can't use Prob Cont. Because I'm sure that's what John Constantine would do. (At least the Human Target idea makes sense given his Vertigo run)

Rather hoped they wouldn't make this figure, as its extremely tough to translate the character into Clix. How do you represent someone who can essentially walk up to the most potent forces in the DC universe, get everyone to essentially stop what they're doing on the sheer basis of his hubris and reputation, and then BS everyone into doing things his way - often having nothing more to work with than the poker equivalent of a 2-7 offsuit. Yet the same guy in a bar room scrap has to have his best friend carry his busted up carcass out and drive him home. The absolute closest thing would be a variation on Shape Shift, but even that doesn't cut it.
Also, like Sandman (another character some people clamor for), the character just doesn't *fit* with the concept of a super power slug fest game. Guess the presentation was inevitable, though.
And significant appearance of Justice League Dark? Seriously? I guess, since the incarnation is that keyword version, but in the pantheon of important Constantine appearances that IMO is far down the list.
Remember the Justice League Dark John Constantine =/= Vertigo's John that we all know and lovehate.
JLD's John and the Vertigo John are in totally different universes.
Oh and hurray for not being a SR! A buddy of mine who doesnt play clix is a HUGE John Constantine fan and I was hoping he'd be a rare tops so I can pick up an extra to give him.

"Victim? Victim? Do you think this letter on my chest stands for AMERICA?" - you have been getting insulted by nextwave.
60 points for him alone seems iffy.. but depending on what TA's the new Justice League brings he might gain some usefulness.. copy Batman and a stealth PC that nerfs opponents PC anywhere on the board? Alright.. not bad..
Glad he's got the Justice League keyword instead of Justice League Dark..
60 points for a Mystic, Wildcard, Prob Controller that nerfs any and all other PC is pretty darn good. Throw in the Outwit/Perplex (that you can chose to push to if you need it) and that's gravy.

Newsarama: First off, did you know when everyone was asking you about the DCU John Constantine that you'd be writing him?
Peter Milligan: Yeah. Sorry about that. I felt pretty bad and it was quite strange, sitting on a few panels and then having a few interviews where I couldn’t actually say that I’d be writing Constantine for DCU. I have to say, though, that that didn’t change what I said, which I still stand by. Namely that as far as I’m concerned, it’s important that the Vertigo Constantine and the DCU Constantine are kept separate, with no cross-over things going on.
The DCU Constantine has to be the guy we know and love, with his same failings — otherwise what’s the point of using him? But as I’m writing him he’s younger and has perhaps been through a bit less than the battered aging old sod we meet in Vertigo. Unlike my Vertigo Constantine, the guy we see in JLA Dark is definitely not married! I also said and believe that the average DC reader – Vertigo and DCU – is sophisticated enough to be able to read both versions without getting confused.
Nrama: Now that you've sat down writing it, what are your thoughts about keeping each character separate?
Milligan: I’m not confused moving from writing about Constantine with Epiphany in Hellblazer, and Constantine doing what he’s doing in JLA Dark — so I don’t think anyone else will be. He’s such a great character, he can handle this. In fact, it’s really nice being able to explore two aspects of this thing named Constantine.
So yeah JLD John =/= Vertigo John
