Why are release dates such a mystery? I cannot for the life of me find release dates for any of the DKR stuff or Chaos Wars. Any help?

Well Chaos Wars main set is schedule for a July 11th release, it was pushed back from its original release in June. As for the others no clue??

Only other 3 that interest me is the 2 anniversary sets ( tenative release of August 15th)
and the New 52 set (July 5th I believe)

This is the third time I've seen this topic in two days. This really is becoming a major problem.

Your best resource is Suttkus's evidence threads, where he has compiled all the information from various sources in one place. Here is the link to the index, which contains links to the evidence threads for each individual upcoming release.

Keep in mind that sets are constantly being pushed back, so the dates are subject to change (even when you can find a date). At this point, I expect the date to be pushed back. Does anyone have any idea how many sets in the past year were released when they were originally announced to release?

I've totally given up on "knowing when stuff comes out" because we simply don't. I don't think WK/NECA does, either.

Whatever you do, don't go to neca/wizkids site looking for the info, you have to go to Suttkus' threads in the Upcoming Sets/Rumors section to get the latest info.

Back Asward, but that is apparently what NECA thinks is best to build the brand. Go figure.

And don't forget, we often have various flavors of releases for the same set, which are usually VERY difficult to track down.

I end up buying a lot less product (from brick and mortar stores) because of the uncertainty of release dates. It is really frustrating.

This kind of makes sense. If I knew that it was reasonably likely that the projected release date of my product was going to change over time I would not go and post a date on my site either.

Part of the disappointment that people feel over NECA "missing" street date is their own fault, because they believe NECA "promised" this date.

Imagine a mother tells her child that she's baking him a cake. The kid asks when it will be done, and she says soon. He pesters her and after being told "soon" a couple more times sneaks into the kitchen to check the clock on the oven; 15 minutes! "Totally radical!" he says to himself as he gets his favourite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles plate and fork set out of the cupboard and waits anxiously for 15 minutes to be up.

After 15 minutes are up the mother, hearing the timer clock ringing, comes to check on the cake. She gives a sigh as she sees her son waiting anxiously, knowing he will be disappointed and just won't understand. Sure enough, after testing the cake with a tooth-pick she finds that the center is not completely baked so back in the oven it goes for another 5 minutes.

When the cake finally passes the approval of the trusty tooth-pick test, the mother has to frost the cake under the restless gaze of her son. Nor is a simple frosting enough, as she knows that her son will be expecting a pretty fancy decoration on this cake, just like her previous efforts. So another 10 minutes passes frosting and decorating the cake.

Finally the cake is done and she offers it to her son. To her frustration he insists he's simply had too many cakes lately. She's producing cakes too fast! Slow down, and maybe make a pizza or a hamburger once in awhile to mix things up!

The mother later kills herself with a bottle of sleeping pills.
