So, I'm getting ready for bed and the next installment of the video is almost, but not quote ready... but since I have a link I'm going to put it up. If you're reading this right after I post you might not be able to see the video:
I love it! It's great seeing that map completed before I continue on.
Thank you. There are 4 maps up in my album. Thor FF, Blue area of the moon, and The Fortress of solitude are officail, the city park is one I just made up. I'm working on Bizarro World right now. But I'm making it in a dif fashion. I'm gonna be able to pull it all apart so it lays flat in a box for easy transport.
I was using Styro-foam to make em, but then I switched over to Foam core(which was way cheaper than the stryo). I really like the way you're able to cut down into yours. Your maps are amazing man.

Looks like me and my roommate may be picking up some of that insulation board on Friday and will be using your videos, comments, and pictures as guides. I think we are going to try to attempt The Spaceship Crash Site - http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/album....pictureid=6949

Very nice! That looks like it will be a great project. I can't wait to see your progress.
DAMN. Talk about dedication man! You mentioned somewhere that fabrication wasn't really your thing...
I like the inverted taper. Having that odd edge may add to the natural look. Your videos rock man.
I've always been my own worst enemy when it comes to learning new things. So , for example, when my first attempts at doing fabrication or scratch building weren't as successful as I wanted them to be I would essentially just give up and tell myself that I just wasn't good at it. Well no SH*T! Nobody starts out good at this stuff. You have to learn it.
I have had the benefit of working around people who WERE really good at this stuff and so I picked things up here and there without really knowing it. Now I'm a voracious watcher of YouTube videos. You can learn something new every day if you really want to.
I've recently been finding myself watching the videos of a woman who creates cool Halloween decorations for her front yard. I don't really care anything about Halloween decorations but she does a lot of work in insulation foam and I've learned a lot watching her work.
Turns out I have a little time to work on the project today, so here's something I came up with for level changes:
The idea is of course that this is a stairway. The benefit of doing this is that the clix bases will span the stairway so that your mini can stand on the grid square. So you get something that is visually cool - but it's still playable.
I got the idea to do this by watching the videos that I mentioned in my previous post. I had to bend the wire around to do it and this is my first attempt. It's not perfect, but it gets the idea of a stairway across.
Your videos are still impressing me, I learn something new every time. This is going to be a monster sized map when you are done, and it's looking incredible. Also your wealth of knowledge in regards to finding good tips and tutorials is great. I think your solution for the stairs on this map is successful, I definitely recognized what it was intended to be without reading your text.
