View Poll Results: Would you correct your opponents mistake if it would benefit you not to?
Always, it wouldn't be a 'real' win for me otherwise.

Almost always, but if it's a big tourney it's dog eat dog.

Maybe, it depends on how big the mistake and how the match is going.

Possibly, but if they screwed up from texting or looking around the room then tough.

Nope, every man is an island, so suck it up Francine.
I normally will let an opponent know if they're making a tactical error that'll result in whole-sale slaughter of their team. (i.e. Keeping basing a brute that's wielding a dumpster with their support/utility pieces etc.) , however, I rarely notify my opposition if they fail to put a stealth character in hindering terrain or anything of that sort. This doesn't occur that often with me, I'm usually the one making a horrid mistake and facepalming as Luke Cage gets obilterated by Psy Blast.

You do realize that this thread has been dead for nearly a year, right?
I very rarely go to organized tourneys, but when there, I wouldn't help my opponent.
When I play with my buddies just for fun, I'll always help them out. Seems to help them enjoy the game better for them to know I'm not all cutthroat-ish.

a) Is it tournament play or fun?
b) If it is tournament play, how big is the tourney?
In a friendly game, I'll always remind someone.
In a normal tournament, I'm not going to remind you to use Perplex, Outwit, or Probability Control but I will remind you if, say, you Perplexed down my Defense earlier and thought you missed when you actually hit. I will, however, remind you about Shape Change or Super Senses.
In a big tournament, it's game on. For example the Gauntlet tourney's, it has been pretty much understood it is "Game On" as far as cheese or not reminding anyone about anything.

"Victim? Victim? Do you think this letter on my chest stands for AMERICA?" - you have been getting insulted by nextwave.
But that's not the real answer... I will ALWAYS help my opponent if he is a nice player (especially if he is new or if he plays a fun team) and NEVER help him if he acts like a jerk (or if he plays what i think is a cheesy team)
There is a local player that always tries to roll his attack roll fast if you have Shape Change before you can say Shape Change. No one likes him. It's best to play fair. I do have to sometimes remind opponent's to roll their Super Senses and hope they would do the same for me.
Ive been really tempted not to, especially in large tournaments (even more often nowadays for opponents running an Infinity Gauntlet), but I always fess up and correct them before the start of the next action. I will admit, though, in larger tournaments I will not correct a blatantly stupid move my opponent makes (like outwitting impervious and then shooting with a penetrating/psychic blast character), but I always will in more casual games with the regulars I play with. I want them to learn to be better players, but I don't want to lose that badly at more major tournaments like CoG, Starro, IG8, or Gen Con.
What? Now you hate things rising from the dead? Makes sense for someone who practices impalement, I guess, but still ...
And that post was 8 months ago, and this thread rose again. I'm not really sure how people happen to see a thread that's had no activity for that long, and then bump it up.
Yeah, it's not cheating. Wanna win? Keep your head in the game. It's not my job to keep track of your powers.
Yes, it IS cheating. It's the responsibility of BOTH players to maintain the proper state of the game. And yes, that sometimes means keeping track of your opponent's powers as well.
