I've been killing myself trying to get the solonavi lately too, especially Rayevisayla. >< Then this comes, hes in the preview art and I'd have to pay $170 for the starter which he my not even be in. No, I'd support mage knights coming back as a heroclix expansion game, but not a digital game.
Ps; Anyone with solonavi want heroclix figs? Pm me trade offers, I need the newer 2.0 figs. Or money, I have money too.

And... it's dead. Or at least the kickstarter project is. Seems nobody wanted a digital only game and everyone wanted figs for less than $170 (go figure). On the plus side, the email I received stated that WK will be relaunching MK (which will likely just be HC, I would assume).

The final update;

Quote
Hi Everyone,
First and foremost, we’d like to take a moment to thank all of our supporters—those of you who have pledged, commented, completed our Mage Knight survey and/or sent us messages about the project.

Your feedback is invaluable and we have carefully read through all of your comments and suggestions regarding the Mage Knight Revenge project. We are committed to releasing the best game possible with fan and community support and will be reworking our digital campaign to bring Mage Knight Revenge to life!

Our goal for this Kickstarter was to gauge community interest in the revival of Mage Knight—both in a digital as well as physical form—and with all of your input and support, the demand for physical figures and the tabletop game is apparent!

With that said, we’re excited to announce that our sister company, WizKids Games, will be reintroducing the physical Mage Knight tabletop game. Please be sure to follow WizKids on Twitter and Facebook or online at www.wizkidsgames.com for status updates on the relaunch.

We’ve also seen quite a bit of interest, both from supporters and video game publishers, in bringing Mage Knight to the digital realm. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the project as it’s something that we’ll continue to cultivate. You can follow MFV online at www.mfv.com, Facebook and Twitter.

Again, on behalf of all at MFV and WizKids Games, thank you for your support!

The Mage Knight adventure continues soon!
I'm honestly shocked at how badly structured this Kickstarter was. Look at the successful Kickstarters recently, like the boardgame Sedition Wars.

SW started with a goal of raising $20,000, and ended up with just short of $1 million (and likely will make that as their pledge manager allows people to increase their purchases).

A consequence of that is Stretch Goals: once that paltry amount was set in stone (guaranteeing funding), the SW developers were able to give goals for more and more stuff to be both made available, and to increase the material the standard pledge level received.

If you pledge $100 at the start of the SW kickstarter, you got the base game and an extra mini (51 figures). By the end, so much had been added that a person with that same $100 pledge would receive almost double that (98 figures)!

Mage Knight, in contrast, set their funding goal so high that it was almost guaranteed that people would never get the chance to reach any stretch goals. With that in mind, the original pledge levels had to be attractive enough to hold people through the whole thing. And they very plainly were not.

No single thing puzzles me so much as the decision, for a game based on miniatures, to put the only miniatures so far up in the pledge level.

This. There's NO WAY that that property is worth near that amount. Back in the day, maybe. And I loved Mage Knight. But NOW? $700,000? Please.

I missed out on Mage Knight the first time around, but it seems like something I'd spend all of my monies on. So I guess I'm glad this failed and they're going to relaunch the physical game!

I hate digital stuff. The more they try to take gamers away from gaming tables and stores and put them in front of computers or consules, the more we lose the very basis of gaming - getting together and having fun. A digital version of MK is a giant kick in the pants against everything that MK tried to do in the first place. It's downright shameful.

Then to think that WK has the balls to ask us for 700K. WK is doing fine, NECA is doing better than ever (who here remembers when they first made action figures off of any no-name property they could get their hands on?). They should barely need any of our money to fund this. Then to dangle the most attractive part of the deal - the figures at the highest level of an already horrible deal, just shows how far away WK is from it's roots.

This is a company that used to give LEs away for FREE. Heroclix, MK, etc were all prize-supported with no cost to judges or venues. And now they ask us for 700K?

Well getting together with people online is still getting together even if your not in tge same room.

Yes it's not the same, but it's a step in getting the game back. And online okay does allow you to play people you normally would not be able to. And cheesy as it sounds it also let's players who don't have a near by group/venue to play tge game.

I do agree the 700,000K is stupid considering they want it by the end of July. I love MK and I know others do too but realistically I don't think that's a achievable goal.
