A real Juggernaut
My small play group concentrates on playing with figures that are as comic accurate as possible, but we are unsatisfied with a few of the selection for specific characters. Chief among these is the Juggernaut a personal favorite of all. But all the representations thus far seem to be lacking that true "unstoppable" feel he is known for. So we are contemplating creating a custom figure that better embody his true nature.


This is my first attempt at a Juggernaut that is as close to comic accurate as possible. All the Juggy piece lack a high def, his force field and all but one had no mechanic to represent his helmet.

Force Field of Cyttorak: Modify Juggernaut's defense value by +1 versus range attacks
Mystical Helmet: At the beginning of the game, place a helmet token on this card. While that token is on this card, Juggernaut is immune to Incapacitate, Mind Control, and Penetrating/Psychic Blast. To remove this token an opposing player must make a "remove helmet" attack, a character with super strength in an adjacent square must make a close combat action and modify their attack by -1, if they succeed remove this token
Unstoppable: When Juggernaut moves due to his own action he ignores all terrain except elevated terrain for that action. After actions resolve, destroy each wall and square of blocking terrain crossed by his path of movement.
Stalwart: Jugernaut is immune to Exploit Weakness and Telekinesis


High Def - In the comics the Juggernaut is almost impossible to harm, short of Thor swinging his hammer full bore i dont recall Juggernaut ever even feeling an enemies physical blow. In heroclix i feel it was way to easy to inflict damage on him so i've illustrated this power by giving him crazy high defense values throughout the dial

Charge and Super Strength
- pretty standard for the Juggernaut i think

Force Field of Cyttorak - In the comics Juggernaut boasts a force field capable of slowing even Thor's hammer when thrown full force to nothing but a tap when it reaches him. This is not shown on any figure to date and i was going to give him a trait that allowed him to use Energy Shield/Deflection at any time but i figured with the already inflated def +1 would be enuf. This all but ensures that Juggy gets to tussle hand to hand.

Mystical helmet - the Giant Size X-men version almost had this right, but i felt that in order to remove the helmet it took not a large blow but a targeted attack to remove the helmet. And since the helmet is made from an extremely resilient mystical metal it could only be removed by someone with super strenght. Furthermore, since an attacker would be concentrating on the helmet and not the Juggernaut it would leave them a bit exposed and the juggernaut would defend himself vigorously hence the -1 to the attackers combat action. I toyed with the idea of having this token removed only by a critical hit rather than a targeted action but this way seems to add more depth and removes the reliance on randomness

Unstoppable - the juggernaut had been shown to walk through buildings, oceans, even a collapsed mountain without stopping so i added this trait, a modified version of "NOTHING CAN STOP THE JUGGERNAUT" from the GSX version.

Stalwart - Lastly i added this because penetrating damage seems the exact opposite of what the Juggernaut is all about so Exploit Weakness had to go and again the Juggernaut is an unstoppable force so TK wouldnt work on him.

I like that you left him open to outwit, and the power combination for cost is about right. He's left without indomitable which is a good call considering Juggernaut is always stopping himself in battle he doesn't really push himself that I've seen. After seeing this dial however I think what I'd like to see more is a Colossus after he becomes the Juggernaut.

I was really hoping to see a "Real" Juggernaut dial. This one isn't Juggernaut.

You got the high DV correct in how hard it is to harm him. Yes, Thor's Godblast that can harm Celestials does nothing to Juggernaut and Juggernaut can actually move against it's force towards Thor.

The attack values are ok, but Juggernaut absolutely does not tire when connected to Cyttorak. So those values at best would only drop to 10.

His Damage is much too low, start it at 5 and drop to 4s for game balance.

He needs Power Cosmic to show his abilities not being countered. Sure, you can still leave the Helmet SP to show him starting resilience to MC & PB, but his durability, momentum & strength shouldn't be OWable.

Without PC you still forgot . If he gains that then he needs certain powers/SPs that aren't counterable.
