I'm totally on board with this and had considered starting a thread in the "Dear WizKids" forum on the subject. Characters in Marvel sets these days seem to fall into one of two categories for me: remakes and "who the heck is that?" In both cases, bios help to answer the question "why should I care about this character?" and therefore "why should I play this figure?"
If it's a character I don't know, bios can give me an idea of where they fit in in the comics, a lot more than a list of keywords that generally don't give any sense of time. If it's a character that's been made ten times before, a bio can tell me that "oh, it's Captain America from Such-and-Such event in 1997, so I should play him with these versions of Thor and Iron Man..." rather than just pick the same Cap with the best stats over and over.
Point being, regardless of who the character is, the bio can give me a reason to play a figure I might not otherwise play.
I want to see more character bios too. I'm glad they put them on the cards for LOTR, Star Trek, Gears of War, etc. I can live with no bios on GF cards, but otherwise, put them on the cards!

I would much rather have a bio printed on the card than a whole bunch of graphics telling me that they justified giving the character Charge by naming it "To Get To The Toilet Before It's Too Late!" I can see from the dial that Charge is there. I assume the character has good reason to charge into battle.
Hey, maybe they should extend the bios and shorten special powers. Then we would have less card errors that affect gameplay. I'd rather them incorrectly list that Peter Parker was really the clone instead of telling me that I can swap the figure for one where the name/set/number don't match up, leaving me in a manic, sob-infested, dink breakdown.

I think that they were doing just fine before. The powers rarely if ever took up one line of text and them being on the card is useful. Plus that adds more flavor to the character. It just gets pretty silly when the entire back of the card is just a cover to a comic we may know nothing about or in quite a few cases is just completely blank.
Is the Whoclix page still up? I would love to read their thoughts on certain old characters.
But in terms of the thread, I too miss the card Bios. It isn't too much to ask that they take 2 minutes to right a few sentences of information on card of a piece they are SUPPOSED to have some sort of clue about.
Maybe there's a desire for consistency between DC/ Marvel char card formats -since DC's NU52 has few origins that have been explained or consistent then they dropped that item from Marvel cards as well.
I've completed collecting the IC, CT, XP, CM, Ult, MM, FF, AW, Sin, SN, AVE, M&M, SI, HoT, WoS, GSX, CA, IH, GG, AVM, CW, M10th, ASM & IM3 sets.
Looking to get PR Professor X (W/X-Men) and pre-release IC Wolverine.
Heck, if they just did bios for Cap, Hulk, Iron Man and Thor they would have completed the bios for about a third of the marvel figures released this year.
Not to mention how many they will sculpt swap for the comming year.

I liked the bios. I am not a big marvel fan and with the sets that have come out (both past and present) it helped with who the figs were and why they were important. I guess with us getting 500 Iron man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain Americas per set we don't need them... Which brings up another point. Why so many of the same person? There are figs I'd like to see made that aren't, yet I have 10 different Iron Men with different stats.

Hahahahahaaa!
... and now I'm sad because it's very nearly true.
... and I just went and did the math. If I'm correct (no guarantee), Hulk, GG, Avengers Movie, and Chaos War come out to 291 figures.
16 would have bios for Bruce "the Hulk" Banner
12 would have bios for Donald "Thor" Blake
12 would have bios for Tony "Iron Man" Stark
9 would have bios for Steve "Captain America" Rogers
(I tracked by real name to avoid counting Red Hulks, Bucky Caps, etc.)
That's 49 figures out of 291. Only 1/6th not 1/3rd... but still way too high.

Yeah, it's nice to finally know that my Mighty Thorr is suddenly even more useless.
Too many SPs and traits eating up card real estate? Maybe they figure if you can't do it for half the set (because you don't have room after all the wordy nonsense SPs) then there's no point in having them for the other half of the set that they could fit the bios on.

If mini bios don't come back, whoclix must!! I loved whoclix.
If not WhoClix, then maybe it'd be a good Realms project for someone to take up. Maybe not for every character that comes out, but for those who don't have a previous character card bio. Could be a series of front-page articles to accompany each release, or maybe even plug the bios into the units section. I know there's resources like comicvine, but a three-sentence, synopsis would be nice.
Just tossing out ideas (i.e. stuff for other people to do that I wouldn't have the time for).
