The fact that I don't have to play in the grinders and golden age event is a huge relief. Really didn't want to play in the golden age event. I think that's going to be a blood bath.

To be honest, there were a lot of, what I would call, fun teams. A full Gauntleted AVM Hulk, a Bizarro/Mole Man x2 team. Strong teams, but maybe a bit more for fun teams.

Congrats again, Derek. You were a gracious winner. I completely agree about the Golden event, hard to build for. Good luck in the finals.

Kind of rad to see a whole bunch of different teams pop up, instead of last year's Metron versus Metron battles.

Especially considering that the dude who won did so with a Fast Forces figure and a couple Commons. That's a pretty good selling point to a new player!

I'm happy that I don't have to do that as well!! Great to see another Ohioan in the finals!!

In the context of the person complaining about Metron vs Metron I think it is fair to acknowledge that this was Superman versus Superman. Of course I don't see anything wrong with either.

Really so the only two teams you take into account are the ones from the final match? There were more teams on the field than those two.

I personally faced a hydra team with the gamma bomb, a two scorpio team with the guantlet (creative idea but Krakoa screwed it over), and a Guardians of the Galaxy team.

And before you start on a rant about the guantlet, it was completely a non factor in all four games. I only got onto power 2 once (against the scorpio team) and during that game there were literally two attack rolls made by a character.

Yikes. Only two attack rolls? Sounds boring

To be fair, we haven't seen all 16 top teams posted. There very well may be more Supes+guantlet teams.

And I don't rant about the gauntlet. Is it overpowered? Yes. Should something be done to curb it? Probably. Will it be on every top-tier team from now until it's retired? Definitely. But rant about it? Not worth my time.

It was extremely boring, and I felt really bad about that match. I HATE having a map decide my games for me. It should play a part of the match but not that big of a part. But in the circumstances and with such a good prize on the line I had to do whatever it took to win.

My opponent fortunately took it well.

I'm still WAITING for an actual tournament report...
