why couldnt ted kord have some kind of outwit or perplex he was a genius and could figure things out. Even though he was a joke character he was very smart and was the obivious brains of the blue and gold team and heck of the justice league at the time....

It saves slots in upcoming sets for more characters.
Is that why Deathstroke has Injustice League and Society instead of Team 7?

The cheap version looks boring. The higher point version looks good, but is useless due to lack of keywords that I would ever use.

Now that we've seen how vehicles work, the value of Ted-Beetle goes up considerably. Assuming they give us the Bug, that's clearly the best use for this version of Ted - a nice cheap pilot who can be useful after he ejects from the husk of his fallen ship.
"He's thrown a kettle over a pub - what have you done?"

Since it's a 10th anniversary set, I suppose they wanted the two most popular Blue Beetles.
...now, if we can just get Jimmy Olsen confirmed.

I agree with that one. Correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to recall a few issues of Birds of Prey in which he was little more than a colorfully-costumed pilot. That's this Ted.

Even in JLI (especially early in the series) he was often left behind in the ship while everyone else went to fight.

Love the Ted Kord one.

The last time they gave us the "new" Blue Beetle, I pried off the sculpt and added an old Hypertime Ted Kord to it.

Never really liked the new Blue Beetle and yes I did read the comic for awhile, but it just reminded me of every bad Spiderman story I had read.

The cool thing is, I like the original and my son likes the new one, so passing the torch is actually accurate for us as well.
"Boo Hoo, Why doesn't(insert favorite character here) have (insert power here) like this new clix?"
